This is my first RU team. I've been wanting to try the tier for a while, and here's what I came up with. Enjoy!
Accelgor (F) @ Focus Sash
Trait: Sticky Hold
EVs: 252 HP / 4 SAtk / 252 Spd
Timid Nature (+Spd, -Atk)
- Bug Buzz
- Spikes
- Focus Blast
- Final Gambit
This guy caught my attention with his blinding speed, good special attack, and access to both spikes and final gambit. He outspeeds every other lead in LU. If the opponents lead sets up on accelgor, just hit'em with a final gambit once your spikes are up. Bug Buzz for a good stab move and focus blast for steelix and other types in case you need some offense
Manectric (F) @ Choice Scarf
Trait: Lightningrod
EVs: 4 HP / 252 SAtk / 252 Spd
Timid Nature (+Spd, -Atk)
- Volt Switch
- Overheat
- Switcheroo
- Hidden Power [Grass]
This guy is the best revenge killer in LU for a reason. A 105 speed and special attack is nothing to laugh at. Great coverage and access to switcheroo, as well as not having a stealth rock weakness made me choose him over galvantula. Volt switch for momentum, overheat for tangrowth etc., hp grass for kabutops and omastar, and switcheroo to cripple stallers.
Spiritomb (M) @ Choice Band
Trait: Pressure
EVs: 172 HP / 252 Atk / 84 Spd
Adamant Nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
- Trick
- Pursuit
- Shadow Sneak
- Sucker Punch
Spiritomb is a great trapper and spin blocker. He can take out other spin blockers and trap pokemon such as rotom, slowking, and uxie. Against uxie he must watch out for thunder wave, since parahax hurts him. Trick as just a standard move for choice sets, shadow sneak for prio, sucker punch to hit hard and get the KO before strong pokemon can KO you, and pursuit to trap.
Sandslash (M) @ Leftovers
Trait: Sand Veil
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 Spd
Impish Nature (+Def, -SAtk)
- Rapid Spin
- Stealth Rock
- Earthquake
- Toxic
Sandlash is a great physical wall and has access to rapid spin and stealth rock. He works great with spiritomb thanks to spiritomb ridding the opponents team of spin blockers. Earthquake is so he can have some offense and can even get a KO. I chose toxic over stone edge so he can hit tangrowth and slowking as well as others on switches.
Tangrowth (M) @ Leftovers
Trait: Regenerator
EVs: 252 HP / 252 Def / 4 SAtk
Bold Nature (+Def, -Atk)
- Sleep Powder
- Leech Seed
- Giga Drain
- Hidden Power [Fire]
Tangrowth. Access to Regenerator, leech seed, and sleep powder. Amazing HP and Defense. Tangrowth has won me so many games. Sleep powder is to cripple threats that switch in as well as crippling slower pokemon. Leech seed is for additional recovery for other pokemon on the team. Giga drain is for even more recovery and a STAB move and hp fire for opposing tangrowth and steel types.
Slowking (F) @ Leftovers
Trait: Regenerator
EVs: 248 HP / 144 Def / 116 SDef
Calm Nature (+SDef, -Atk)
- Slack Off
- Scald
- Thunder Wave
- Fire Blast
The second part of the Tangrowth/Slowking defensive core. Great special wall as well as access to recovery is regenerator and slack off. He can cripple faster special attackers with thunder wave and if they switch the new pokemon will have to deal with paralysis for the rest of the game. Scald has a chance for burnhax of physical attackers. Fire blast is to hit tangrowth on the switch as well as stell types.
There's my team. I can't remember what my peak was, but I've been having some success with it. Please leave advice!
