The first team I made was put together with advice from a GameFAQ's guide. I basically took 6 of their reccomendations and used it to make my own team. But now, using the info I learned from that, as well as other info I learned in my own research, I made my own team from scratch.
Starmie @ Leftovers ** Starlight
Trait: Natural Cure
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Spd / 252 SAtk
Modest Nature (+SAtk, -Atk)
- Ice Beam
- Psychic
- Rapid Spin
- Surf
A fairly basic special sweeper. Rapid Spin was added if my opponent decides to lay some Spikes down.
Skarmory (M) @ Leftovers ** Eagle
Trait: Keen Eye
EVs: 6 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Spd
Jolly Nature (+Spd, -SAtk)
- Drill Peck
- Hidden Power [Ground]
- Roar
- Spikes
Basically it's a Spiker and a Physical Sweeper in one pokemon. HP Ground is there in case he runs into a Magnet Pull Magneton (or some other electric pokemon)
Ampharos (M) @ Leftovers
Trait: Static
EVs: 4 HP / 252 SAtk / 252 SDef
Sassy Nature (+SDef, -Spd)
- Light Screen
- Rest
- Substitute
- Thunderbolt
My Special tank. With a set like this, it will outlast almost any Special Sweeper.
Aggron (M) @ Leftovers
Trait: Rock Head
EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Def
Relaxed Nature (+Def, -Spd)
- Counter
- Double-Edge
- Rest
- Substitute
Like Ampharos, it has a set that'll help it outlast any physical sweeper, and even strike back at the opponent.
Celebi @ Focus Band
Trait: Natural Cure
EVs: 170 Def / 170 Spd / 170 SDef
Timid Nature (+Spd, -Atk)
- Baton Pass
- Calm Mind
- Leech Seed
- Toxic
Celebi uses Leech Seed and/or Toxic on the enemy, so it's kind of an annoyer. Also, it uses Calm Mind to Baton Pass it to Ampharos or Starmie. I wanted to do the same for a move to help the attackers, but couldn't find a move in it's moveset. The Defence/Sp. Defence EV's, as well as Focus Band, are there so it can take a few hits.
Blissey (F) @ Leftovers
Trait: Natural Cure
EVs: 170 Def / 170 Spd / 170 SDef
Bold Nature (+Def, -Atk)
- Heal Bell
- Rest
- Substitute
- Toxic
Another Toxic-inducing pokemon. Heal Bell will help with status analomies on my party. Rest and Substitute will help it survive. And with Natural Cure, it'll wake up the moment it's pulled out of battle.
