First Sprite - Shuckle Evo

I've seen some amazing stuff here, so I'm a little shy about showing my first attempt...

This idea originally came from a doodle I drew of this guy. I decided to sprite it today in a fit of boredom. The concept is a Shuckle's shell breaking under extreme pressure, but instead of dying from the trauma, it evolves. It also has sharp points on the ends of the back-tentacles. For pokin' stuff. Credit to my boyfriend for the inspiration. "What if Shuckle broke out of the shell?"

I used the R/S sprite of Shuckle's head, and Togetic's wing. The rest is by hand.
The leg on our left is kind of meh. I was trying to convey a tiny bit of distance at the 3/4 angle by resizing it a bit, but it failed....
Anyway. This guy has no name just yet, but credit for the design and idea goes to myself and my boyfriend.

Nice idea, very creative. It looks very good, but the arms look like they are in the wrong spot. Other than that, its perect for your first sprite. I hope you make some more evos of pokemon soon

They're not really... Just more tentacles. Less leg-like than the others. Thanks a bunch!

Because they are. Hehe. I used Togetic's wings directly, after not being able to sprite ones close enough to what I wanted. These fit the need. Thank you!

but it looks alot like Togetic..
The legs look a little messed up (you already know that) but still cute.

Aw, don't think like that! I haven't seen yours yet, but I bet they're more than fine. Be positive - if you like what you did, you're halfway there, IMO.

Thanks, I was starting to notice a lot about them. So I've changed them to what I wanted in the first place now... Something more spiral-like in the center. It's subtle, so I'll post a side-by-side.

Also, I've fixed the arms. The first version had a clone-and-mirror technique which was lazy on my part. I like this a lot better now. The only problem I have with it now is...

Nope, body's all natural. If it WERE the shell, things would look....awkward.
No, the boyfriend doesn't have a Serebii account. He likes to look over my shoulder sometimes, though.

Okay... Here's yet ANOTHER draft. I fixed the legs here. BIG improvement, IMO...

...But now he looks a bit like Thing from Adam's family. >.>
He's getting better by little steps.

You're absolutely right. The only thing I really was worried about submitting this...

The only explanation I could come up with is FULL of fluff. I imagined that through becoming a ghost type, supernatural power and imprinting of the Shuckle's former self would apply.

Of course, evolutions do tend to gain more stats. Where to put them?
I thought it might be more balanced to re-distribute some of Shuckle's amazing defenses to add more to speed (addition of wings) and/or possibly either Attack stat.

Yeah. The whole thing is total BS. It was an excuse to make something.

But if anybody was creative enough to try fabricating some stuff about this Pokemon, I'd LOVE to hear what you come up with!

Well, try this :

Shuckle's type becomes Ghost, and part of it's defense is put in Special defense, Special Attack and Speed.

Giving it low att, a defense around 100, kind'a average sp.a and spd. And extremely high Special Defense Since it is ghost, it is protected against normal and fighting so def can be cut down?

And offcourse, it learns mirror coat ^^
