yeah, you can buy it but i recommend you don't, i did the same thing before, i recommend you don't buy it and wait till you find fireblast, i think you can buy it in lilycove or somewhere, anyway, it was a lot cheaper, i remember my wallet being completley empty after flamethrower. OR you could get some heart scales *i think that's what they're called* anyway, get some of them and find the move relearner, i'm really sorry, my details are sketchy but this was ages ago when i did this, lol

Yeah, Flamethrower, T-Bolt, IB, will all cost you $80,000. I personally would wait as Blaze Kick is good when your Combusken evolves to Blaziken at 36. Or like Mr Poo Poo said, get a Heart Scale and go to the Move Re-Learnerer in Fallarbor Town.

hey guys my cobusken is now 42 i hate balizeken i prefer cumbusken than it so i gave him everstone it is way more better to be a combusken than balizeken ( cuze i like may a lote ) so see ya

No,Torchic is better den all of them,the humanoid apearance of combusken and blaziken make u not want to eat it,loolz
I dont think the move tutor will teach flamethrower,but i think it will teach combusken fire punch,or you can breed another torchic and level it up (you have to stop it from evolving a couple levels)till it learns flamethrower

Flamethrower is the only one you cant find on emerald you have to buy it.

Luvdisc carry heart scales. and about flame thrower you need to buy it like everyone els(sp?) have said.

you can find them scattered around later in the game like after winnona or someone, but luvdisc also hold them, so you can either look, i remember they're quite easy to find just lieing around, our you can catch luvdisc or thief them

There's always one when you surf from up from Dewford. It's above 2 trainers around some trees, there's a strip of land. Go look on gamefaqs.com and look at one of the Walkthrough's and hit Ctrl+F and type in Heart scale.

Here we go:

Torchic learns flamethrower naturally at level 43, but Blaziken and combusken don't. The strongest fire type move Blaziken learns naturally is blaze kick, at 90 power. The move relearner will not teach you torchic eve flamethrower. If you want to buy flamethrower, I suggest you keep some zigzagoon to find nuggets, and sell all useless items.

well you could just get a pokemon that knows flamethrower and breed it with the one you want to make it learn takes longer but its another way
Luvdisc hearts scales? I always beleived you had to have one space in your party and too catch a female luvdisc to get a heart scale. ive only found 4 heart scales without luvdisc

I'm just wondering, why do people prefer Combusken over Blaziken? Combusken is weak, and he doesn't get Blaze Kick, which is a pretty good move for Blazey especially with the new game mechanics system coming out. It doesn't matter if Combusken's "cute", it's not gonna win ya anything...

Who knows, I hate the look of Combusken. Torchic has the cuteness look to it, Blaziken is big and bada** and therefore just looks awesome. Then you have Combusken, which is just a giant, annoying, chicken. And Grovyle owns it for the best middle evo of the new pokemon.

What I do find annoying about the starter pokemon is how their movepools change through evolution, it's kinda annoying. Like someone said, Torchic is the only that learns flamethrower but that isn't until level 43. I suppose if you are going to evolve Torchic you'll be getting Blaze Kick though. Cobusken is just kinda - there.

i don't know why i like combusken more than blazekin, i can't explain it...i just do
my favourite evolution of the new starters is probably marshtomp, i dunno why but i have a thing for 2nd stage pokemon i prefer lombre to ludicolo, kirlia to gardivouir, vigoroth to slaking, it goes on, i guess i'm kinda weird, hehe

combusken look almost like people, but torchic looks like a piece of chicken. maybe the appeal is that it's chicken that can cook itself.

If you want to find a lot of Heart Scales in Emerald just put a pokemon with Compoundeyes (Nincada, Butterfree, Venonat) in the front of your party and then switch to a pokemon that knows Covet/Theif. (Mightyena, Poochyena, Slakoth, Zigzagoon, Linoone, TM taught pokemon) I'm trying to find more Hard Stones and Everstones in Granite Cave, currently. I can't get Twistedspoon though because Abra uses Teleport...(duh)
