Flying and Normal combination... POINTLESS

This is just a thread to see if anyone agrees that birds like pidgey, dodou and spearow DO NOT NEED THE NORMAL TYPE! It is sooooooooooo annoying and pointless. It just makes them weaker to fighting (which basically makes fighting more likely to kill them then they are to kill fighting)

I think that some Flying Pokemon can benefit from the Normal type. For example, attacks like Return or Body Slam are powered up. Even Quick Attack which many Flying types have. However, the fact that every Bird Pokemon without another type has it is annoying, I agree. So, some Birds should be Normal/Flying, but not ALL who don't have any better types to have.

EDIT: In future, I'd also like for them to make JUST Flying Pokemon and maybe change some of the current Normal/Flying ones to just Flying, but them doing that is unlikely.

I think normal is fine. Flying is more an elemential kinda thing, not just a fancy way to say 'bird'. Since the majority of bird pokemon use mostly physical attacks, normal can extend their repitiore of STABed moves by a long shot.

Most bird pokemon have high speed, and should be able to outrun most fighting types. They never posed me a problem. But if you have trouble using birds, don't use 'em. Simple.

I think it´s OK and it´s good give a STAB for one good attack in-game (return), also it win one immunity with the normal type, that totals 2!!

I agree that Bird Pokemon shouldn't be Normal Type. It doesn't make sense. It makes it harder for them to beat Fighting types

Yes, Flying Pokémon should be part Normal. And any competent user shouldn't have a problem with Fighting Types, as Flying Types are always faster and have STAB Flying Attacks for the OHKO.

It's terrible for a flying to share normal. My Swellow's Wind attack can knock out a fighting type in one hit, but if it fails and the fighting type attacks, my Swellow faints.

Normal is a bonus to fliers. STAB Return from Dodrio hurts. STAB Facade from a burned/posioned swellow hurts even harder.

Truly an absolutely pointless combo. They use it on tha common Pkmn at tha beginning of each game. Hoot-hoot, Pidgey, Taillow. Come ta think of it I think tha Normal type itself is kinda pointless. I mean -- fire-types for example can be described as Pkmn who spit flames and live in volcanoes. Other types like Dragons can be described by their scaly aspect aswell as Draconic features such as leathery wings and dinosauric aspect. Fighting types have muscles. But... what tha hell do normals do? @.=.@

It's why they're called 'normal'. Normal types are dead beat ordinary.

The Normal type is a lot more useful than say, the Dragon type, if you ask me. =/

The good thing is about Normal is that ghost attacks aren't very good because ghost attacks don't affect normal types.

wow i cant beleive that people think a flying pokemon is useless without normal!wow so what if fighting isnt weak against ur swellow(example)u r still strong against any fighting!duh.plus you are unafected by ghost moves!
