Next question: Who are your favorite frontmen/vocalists?

My previous questions still stand.

  2. Freddie Mercury (Queen) - No ****!
  3. Bruce Dickinson (Iron Maiden)
  4. Dave Mustaine (Megadeth)
  5. Roger Daltrey (The Who)
  6. Frank Zappa
  7. James Hetfield (Metallica)
  8. John "Ozzy" Osbourne (Black Sabbath)
  9. Steve Wilson (Porcupine Tree)
  10. Tarja Turunen (Nightwish) - Obligatory female singer

Honorable mentions to Mikael Akerfeldt (Opeth), Geddy Lee (Rush), Geoff Tate (Queensryche), Ian Anderson (Jethro Tull), Neal Morse (Spock's Beard), Fish (Marillion), h. (Marillion), Dero (OOMPH!), Till Lindemann (Rammstein), Patti Smith, Bon Scott (AC/DC), Danny Elfman (Oingo Boingo), and Paul di'Anno (Iron Maiden).

****, forgot Lennon and Zappa.

Okay, that IS pretty much of an atrocity. How could you have forgotten Lennon? Or, for that matter, Zappa, who has one of the most amazing voices ever, if only 'cause it's goddamned ugly?

I also forgot Danny Elfman. AAAAARGH! How did I do THAT?

No Ian Gillian, Ronny James Dio, or Jimmy Page. Shame after shame.

Also here's a bit of news for the thrash metal fans out there: Slayer's next (and likely final) album has been rumored to be entitled Human Genocide. It is also likely to have the iconic sword-made pentagram emblem that 2006's Christ Illusion brought back.

Wait, Jimmy Page? It's Robert Plant, Cain! *nagnagnagnag*

Page was the frontman, Plant was the vocalist. Go look at a few hundred more Led Zeppelin pictures, please.

Look into them NOW, while their still touring and doing the Unholy Alliance. It is quite a good mix of stuff. In interviews, they talk about singing about Satan because "well, Satan is cooler to sing about than God, even though God's better than Satan." Tom Araya, the vocalist/bassist, is Catholic.

What about your favorite bassists?

Jason Newsted (Voivod)
Cliff Burton (The Great Big Band in the Sky :( , but on Earth it was Metallica)
Ian Hill (Judas Priest)
STEVE "THE BEAST" HARRIS ('MAIDEN!)
John Paul Jones (technically Led Zeppelin)
Tim Lindsey (Molly Hatchet)

...and a lot more.

It's pretty debatable actually as to which one was the front man, Page was mainly the one the media sought out but Plant was more of the live frontman.

Bassists:
Joey DeMaio (Manowar)
Steve Harris (Iron Maiden)
John Paul Jones (Led Zeppelin)
John Myung (Dream Theater... if only because of the Myung tackle)

I'm going to have to add David Bowie to my list of good artists. Before today, I had only heard "Suffragette City," but I've been listening to his The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars concept album. It is definitely worth a listen, and it is good as a concept album as well. I'm normally one to stay away from glam-pumped rock, but David Bowie is an artist that is great anyways.

Ho' shiz, another Megadeth fan?

I think Hammett's a great guitarist, don't get me wrong. However, of Metallica's solos, I think my favorite is still James' solo on Master.

P.S. Lerxst at 13? That low? Damn.

Well I think Hammetts good, at least on there first four albums.

I just think Friedmans better
