well this is my team now:

alakazam lvl 39
heracross lvl 38
machamp lvl 37
suicune lvl 51
venasaur lvl 48
dusclops lvl 49

i want to take machamp out and put in a fire type, because i already have heracross which is a fighting type. but unfortunately, i don't know what fire pokemon to choose....can someone give me some thoughts about what fire type pokemon (or you can even suggest a different pokemon of a different type) to put in my party?

do not suggest any legendaries or charizard!!!!!

i have a ninetails which if ev trained can have a decent moveset and good stats so unless you can get a charizard i suggest you go with the ninetails if you're doing LG.

maybe try breeding a magmar to get egg moves from other pokemon because i dont think its got lots of good moves or else you can use an Arcanine which has pretty good stats too. i wouldn't suggest a flareon because it naturally gets more atk than sp. atk.
find an arcanine with a good nature an ev train it before evolving until it learns all its best moves!

ok!

thats a good idea cause i just caught a shiny growlithe just now! what a coincedince....oh and i have a houndoom too i just found in like my last box for some reason. do you think i should get an arcanine or a houndoom?

oh and this is off-topic but how do you get one of those sigs everyone has? you know, the trainer card with the picture of your six pokemon?

they basically have the same sp.def stat. if you want high sp.atk you should go for the houndoom which has more sp.atk stat, however less variety in fire type attacks.

congrats for the shiny! if it has a good nature and you like it you could use it!

if you don't want an all-fire type you could opt for the houndoom, depends what moves you intend to teach it! if you're aiming for lots of fire-type moves growlithe learns more!

thanks!

would adamant be a good nature for growlithe? i mean it would lower its special attack for fire moves but it would gain attack for like take down and extremespeeed.

oh and this is off-topic but how do you get that cool trainer card sig with the pictures of your pokemon on it?

if you intend to teach it attack moves i guess it would be ok for it to be adamant.

for the trainer card you can go to the fan art section, then in fan art requests and ask for the people there to do one for you providing them with the details of how you would like yours to be! I'm sure they'll gladly make one for you!

thank you for all the info! i think i will go with houndoom and see how that goes. i wanted a pokemon that can learn some fire moves and houndoom can! i already have flamethrower on it!

10x for the advice!

Wow! You have a pretty good team! Also, why not Charizard or any legendaries? You can always trade for Charizard.
