LJ is banning people and comms left and right, citing "illegal activities" and accusations of child porn. Never mind that they're banning people based on interests such as shota and lolita, which has lead to the culling of a comm for the novel Lolita; as well as things like cutting people who've experienced incest or childhood rape and list those in their interests to find other victims as a networking thing.

So be careful about what you post, or they could delete your whole journal. And back up your fics! (of course you should have backups anyway)

Why Does LJ Censor? and Innocence Jihad are two comms that have sprung up to protest this injustice, if you're interested in learning more.

Anyways, this doesn't surprise me actually, and if you have rape or incest or something in your interests... that just kinda screams wrong to begin with :/ I mean if I was raped sure I'd want to be with other victims to have someone to talk to that I know wouldn't scream emo at me, but to list it in interests?

:s just seems wierd to me.

LJ is probably just doing this because of all the pedo's found on myspace :/ and this just feels like it'd have been better left for general discussion or well. If people go to LJ they'd know anyways.

My two cents on this thread/what you posted about.

Funny. Last time I heard of LiveJournal's deletion policy, they were so bent on allowing free speech about anything and everything that they specifically refused when people started reporting a journal where somebody was posting underage Harry Potter slash.

Apparently things have changed. o_O

Actually, that's what I had heard somewhere too, but I guess it doesn't matter now. LOL. xD (then again, I haven't been to LJ in quite a long time, but still...)

I guess Myspace started a trend of wiping every trace of 'illegal' activities off their site. The pedophile thing I understand, but fics being deleted too...? And Youtube had been on a mass genocide of anime vids too, I hear. Man, why are people so paranoid all of a sudden...? It's not like it's new or anything...

YM- I almost thought you meant something else there, I almost thought you meant that anyone who writes stories with rape in it has something wrong with it, since two of my stories has that, one crappy one and another sort of okay one (The first one's ending is crap, only because the person I loved who was the story turned out to be the girl i now hate, so yeah), anyway people should be free enough to write what they wish in the stories (Not in thier interest, like YR that part is weird), the point of stories is to run away, to escape reality, not to have a bunch of rules put on you and told you can't do this, and that.
