fan pokemon (c) Me

Rena (c) Renegade

~*~

warn you striaght off, self inserted characters. Not of me but characters I have created.

Place in pokemon time: Before the birth of Mewtwo. This takes place in the game version of pokemon and not the anime.
Genre: Suspense, Tragedy and horror/gore
Rating: R
For: Blood, Gore, abuse, sexual content, and death
Suggestions: If you really don’t want me to go all out on the drama in this fic, which I want to do, then don’t read. I am NOT going to be light, I am not going to back off on it because you don’t like the way its going. This plot has been solid through role-playing and tweaking and I am NOT changing it because you have a weak heart for innocent things being poked and cut open. Note that I won’t go all out on some of the themes this fic will have either. Blood and gore is fine by and death but the sexual content will not be explored too much. I got my own morals after all.

Chapter index: note: some chapters may be split up so that they have two parts. Cuz I don’t want a lot of chapters but I do write a lot and so I may end up writing longer chapters in halves. Chapter one and two will be shorter then the rest.

Prologue: A dreamless sleep
Chapter one: Innocent
Chapter two: Brute
Chapter three: Broken
Chapter four: The spider and the fly
Chapter five: For the sake of science
Chapter six: Don’t fall asleep
Epilogue: Little Brother

Forsaken Vessels

It does not live. For it was never born from a womb.
It does not feel for it never was given any feeling.
It can not think for it was never given any creativity.
It was made for one purpose, it is a tool.
It does not have a soul.
For we never gave it one.

Prologue
A dreamless sleep

It was an empty sleep they were in. It was empty and cold… their minds could only wander in this large open space of darkness as they searched for meaning of what they seek and to seek for the meaning. It was a complicated thought and yet perfectly understandable to a mind that had little to do but wander around its own existence.

Then there was a twitch, a jolt of awareness and out of two mines… one vanished. The other mind was confused and began to search the emptiness of its own self. It grew to a panic at the fact that its companion had gone missing. The mind raced for an answer and though it spoke not with words it still called out to the other hoping for a reply. But none came to it. And it was alone.

And the mind mourned.

End.

Chapter one: Innocent
(Chapter Rated: PG)

The sound of squeaky wheels echoed about the brightly lit hallway, the tile on the floor was a creamy white color while the coloring of the wall was just plain white, to go with this whiteness even more white tiles were on the ceiling with yet again white lights.

Walking down the long detail-less hallway was a young woman, barely twenty it seemed. She wore a soft blue uniform that looked much like what a surgeon would wear in a hospital. The pants were loose and almost too big while the shirt was tucked in neatly. The collar was a V shape and had semi long sleeves. But over this she wore a white lab coat that caused her to blend in with her surrounding white hall. This young woman was pushing the squeaky wheel cart and every step her eyes seemed to narrow more and a vein on her light blonde head would tick from the annoyance it caused her.

The cart was filled with different sized metal bowls, each having different sorts of pallets and vegetation. The cart had two levels as well, so it could hold twice as much bowls for its various creatures the cart was meant to bring such nutrition too. The woman hummed, her hazel eyes glancing about a bit as she ran one hand over her hair while the other steered the squeaky cart. Her foot steps grew with rhythm with the squeaking and the sound of the wheels rolling across the clean tile and closing her eyes she could almost find her way to the cells with out having to open them once. The rhythm was old to her, over done, tiring and she sorely missed the bright colored walls of her old lab, the one she use to work in with the dear professor who had journeyed here to this place with her.

Her mind began to wander on her home, the clean streets of cerulean city, the salt lake near by that blew in rich salty air. Her house just on the edge of town, her mother doing meaningless chores that she enjoyed to do and her sister preparing for her pokemon journey…

But this train of thought was broken as quick as an ekans sinks its fangs into its prey as sounds of quick moving feet came dashing down the halls of the overly clean and white mansion. The assistant gasped a little snapping her eyes open and turning her cart quickly to the side of the wall, rattling its contents and spilling some on the floor. She ignored this as she watched a few of the more important scientist, professors and doctors dash by like their life depended on it and then was followed by assistants and lesser intelligent people before they turned and darted into a room. She gasped once more as a loud child like wailing came within, it sounded high pitched and yet gurgling as if there was water down the throat. Shouts and orders were given before the sounds were muffled behind closed doors.

The blond haired assistant nearly started as she felt a hand clasp around her shoulder, her eyes turning to the source quickly and she was relieved as she stared up at a kind old man. In his mid sixties, his head balding but still held some thick white hairs. His once blue eyes seemed to have faded into gray while his sagging face gave a look of worry and wryness. He wore an outfit much like the assistants, only green and it seemed there was no gender specific clothing in these walls. His lab coat seemed almost too large for his thinning form and the woman knew that the last few years had been hard on him.

It had been hard on both of them.

“Rena.” The professor gasped, still trying to catch his breath and showing he was not a man of exercise.

“Yes Professor Palm?” she replied, the tone and look seeming to be memorized by her, showing she had said it many times before but never grew tired of listening and obeying. It was her duty to her employer and her friend, though the woman known as Rena often wondered if she should have become a pokemon trainer like her mother wanted.

“The main lab, the tank… awake… trouble. Come!” he barely was able to speak before he began to lead his assistant off into the room. She had never been within that room before; it was for high leveled scientist only. She only knew of one assistant who ever went in there… and he was mute. She watched intently as the good professor slid his card through the card slide and pressed in a code. The red light on the little panel switched off and with a din, the green enter light was on. A click… and the door into the main lab slid open.

Rena knew in most horror stories, a mad scientist would be bent over his creation that would be hidden under a blanket, in a dark and dirty room. With lightening flashing in the background and a hunched over assistant would speak out ‘maaaster’ and then the monster would awake, and turn on its creator.

But this was different, more real, more frightening. Several of the scientists, doctors and professors were hovering back and forth to a single metal table. The assistants that were able to enter for the first time in the room were huddled off watching in wonder and fear. The room was not dark nor did lightening flash in the window. No it was very white and very clean. No windows at all but bright white lights that shined down like an unforgiving sun in the desert. The men ordered the room to be cleared of assistants and those who were not allowed in here.

Rena turned to go before something caught her eye or more like her ear. A child like groan. Her eyes turned onto the table and she saw a long violet limb raise up, it was much like a tail, but it was thick and glowed as if it was wet or covered in some sort of goop. The ‘tail’ as Rena guessed started out thick then would thin out a little before it widened once more into a sort of bulb. She watched as it rose higher before came crashing down onto the table with a loud cry coming from the owner.

“OUT!” one of the doctor’s ordered pointing at Rena to leave, she stumbled a moment before turned to go before she was grabbed once more by her professor. She gave a questioning look towards him but he ignored it as he advanced closer to the table and nodded her to go over towards another. She saw clothes and towels resting on it with a tray of scalpels and other objects.

“I don’t want her in here.” The leading professor snapped at Palm as the older man walked over to the table.

“Bart isn’t here yet, you must have at least one assistant.” The professor Palm spoke calmly and with a slight authority though he knew speaking to knowingly would get him scolded by the leading scientist.

“Fine. You. Yes you. Put some towels and that tray on a cart and come over here” the leading professor snapped out his order and Rena quickly went to work preparing the cart from the corner and darting over. She noticed that only a few scientists remained and they were at computers or clipboards jotting down notes. The creature on the table had stilled, on soft whimpering and gurgling escaping it as the tail twitched here and a leg kicked a little. Rena could not help but think of something that had been hit in the head and was suffering from shock.

The lead scientist was a tall man and he looked very old, he walked tiredly and held shaky hands. His cold brown eyes stared with a numb look, showing he had been doing this for quite some time and while he was barely past forty five his work had aged him physically and mentally beyond any man’s wish. Rena wasn’t looking at the professor. She stared down at the pitiful creature lying on the table.

And she knew that everyone in this building was going to hell for what they were doing.

It breathed shallow breaths, its body covered in liquid, Rena could see that some of it had drained off and was slipping down into a drain on the floor. The body was thin, she could see the rib cage of the poor creature and watched as it took quick breathes as it tried to stabilize. Its upper body looked almost human, with small shoulders and two small breasts, but she knew it wasn’t human as it was covered in soft almost faded pink fur. Then its lower body did not resemble a human’s at all but sported large hips with rounded animal like feet, it would walk on two toes on each foot while a rounded third toe was higher up on its legs.

The thin frail arms were longer then what looked plausible for it and sported three round ended fingers. Its head was animal like, with a cat like snout and two slits on it for a nose with a gasping tooth filled mouth. Faded glazy blue eyes stared out almost as if it was dead and on top of its head were two stumps… no horns… ears? Rena was unsure as they were covered in the short velvety fur and yet seemed harder more protective of the head. The creature let out a soft moan from its mouth and its eyes closed hand moving a bit.

“… What… what… oh Lugia…” Rena whispered as she watched the creature. If it could stand now it would not be close to five feet tall. More like four five and would probably fall over. The woman reached out and pushed some of the strange violet hair that covered the creature’s head out of its eyes.
“Actually” the leading professor spoke up, “Not Lugia… Mew. Well, a clone of one. A failed one by the looks of it… but we will see.”

Rena withheld the horrified feeling she was getting, watching the tail thump a little and the head rise and thud against the table as the creature desperately tried to move. She turned pulling some of the towels off the cart and with a look of approving from the head professor began to clean the strange gooey substance from the clone’s body. It was a disgusting liquid, it would attach to the towel when damp enough and when she brought it back saw it stretch out in a snotty like manner and showing how resisting it would be.

The arm she was working on cleaning tugged away against the clone’s side. Rena scowled and attempted to retrieve it for cleaning and heard a whimper come from the poor creature which caused her to release the arm and stare at it.

“Is it in pain?” she asked.

“No, just drugged, it can’t focus.” The professor snapped as he began preparing a syringe and other items for testing. Rena winced a little, she was a lab assistant in studying pokemon in there environment. She and Palm had never been in an experimenting lab where they created… clones of creatures that are believed to just be legend.

After some time and the ‘mew’ was as clean as Rena could get it, she lay the last towel back onto the cart and stared down at the pitiful creature. She heard the leading Professor call it a Mewtwo but she thought that was a rather corny name for it. She turned ready to push the cart away when she heard the scientist speak.

“Take that there and test the nerves on its fingers and toes.” He ordered pointing at what looked to be a metal pencil with a sharp point. Rena’s face drained of color a little; she really did not want to do this. She was glad her real job here was just feeding and caring for the pokemon in the cells. She could never work harming anything living. If only she wasn’t such a wimp, she would decline then.

Rena picked up the tool and withheld a look she wanted to give. Slowly she took the hand of the creature and pulled it closer to herself before she tried to spread the three fingers apart. The hand was oddly rounded and the fingers seemed to be able to grip even though there wasn’t exactly a thumb. The assistant brought the sharp object against the clone’s finger and a small whine escaped it and it tugged on the hand a bit. Rena’s fingers shook as she watched what seemed to be a child almost try and escape pain. The head scientist had walked away by now and had gone over to a computer screen.

Rena had moved around now. Her eyes still wide and her fingers trembling as she continued to poke and prod the wet sleeping child before her. She had poked one hand and both feet by now, the Mewtwo had whimpered a bit and pulled its limbs in to try to avoid the pointy thing. Finally she was poking the last fingers when she heard it.

As she poked one of the fingers the clone pulled its hand in and a small very child like voice barely spoke out into all of the scientist’s minds.

'Ow.'

The assistant froze, dropping the item to the ground and it clank loudly. The head scientist and professor Palm turned their gazes to the girl.

“It-it spoke!” Rena pointed at the Mewtwo. “It said ow!” she announced seeming to be thrilled at this fact before and feelings of horror filled her. This thing had the ability of speech, it was intelligent and very much alive… and here she was poking it like it was something to dissect. She was reminded of the time she had to cut open a polliwag for a class she had been taking. She ended up gagging and throwing up before running out of the room. She loved pokemon, she loved studying pokemon. She did not like cutting them up.

“Yes, yes very good. Then it wasn’t a complete failure.” The head scientist grumbled as he fumbled around on the computer. Professor Palm blinked and looked over rather surprised.

“Failure, Gray? It looks very much alive and has speaking capabilities.” Palm replied as he looked over a list of data spilling out of the computer.

The head scientist, Professor Gray, looked up now from his own work. “Look at the read outs… what do you see?” he called over before taking a needle and quickly sticking it into the Mewtwo. Rena turned her face away, wincing at the small whine that escaped the creature. The head professor drew out the red liquid before placing it in another bottle and onto the tray. “Assistant, take this to forensics.” He motioned towards the tray.

Rena eyed the tray before eyeing the professor, she wanted to leave and yet she didn’t want to just leave this poor creature in their hands. She sighed knowing better then to disobey, she didn’t want to get herself in trouble which in turn would get Pr. Palm in trouble, and she was assigned to help him. Rena pulled off the rubber gloves and threw them into the trash before looking at the dozing creature on the table.

The pinkish pokemon whined a little the tail twitching before dozing off into an uneasy slumber. Rena sighed once more and took the tray heading for the door. As she exited the room one of the assistants passed her, she knew who he was. He was Pr. Grey’s right hand man, Bartholomew, mostly called Bart. He was an older man, probably near his thirties though looked to be in his mid twenties. He didn’t speak much; well actually he didn’t speak at all, being a mute. He had chestnut brown hair that was somewhat long and not often brushed with matching chestnut brown eyes.

He didn’t even give Rena a glance as he entered the room and was yelled at for being late by the head scientist. Rena shrugged it all off and tried to put this experience in the back of her mind as she headed off to get the samples tested.

It was a few hours later before Rena could go back to her duties. She ran her hand over the code pad quickly tapping the codes into the door and watching it slid open with its sci-fi movie worthy motion. The blonde stepped inside and heard the cries of the pokemon. They knew that their care taker was back and whined to be fed. She smiled, even though she knew these pokemon had little chance at being free, it was kind to know that she wasn’t alone.

“I know, I know.” Rena rolled her eyes as she walked over to the food bins and looked over the list of monsters’ that still needed to be fed.

'He-oo?'

Rena froze, dropping the scoop of food back into the bin. She could have sworn she heard something. She glanced around ignoring the whines of the pokemon from the cages. Something spoke to her and yet… did she really hear it? Didn’t seem vocal to her…

'hee-lo?'

Now she knew she heard something, or thought something. The blonde woman made her way down the lines of pokemon looking left in right. She was going to the back of the room where the larger cells were for the larger and more dangerous pokemon were kept.

“Um… hello?” Rena called out a little, wondering if she was just hearing things.

'Hoo!'

The blonde assistant raised an eyebrow now as she looked down the row of cells and blinked as she saw something stick a slim little pink rounded tip finger out of the food slide. It could stick three little fingers out and pull them back in and Rena could have sworn she heard a mockery of a mental giggle. The blonde thought over what pokemon had pink fingers before it dawned on her.

The Mewtwo!

The assistant quickly made her way down the hall and bent down beside the door.

“Are you awake, little one?” she asked gently knowing full well she was awake. Some jumbled words came to her and it was easy to see that the creature had no idea how to really speak. A feeling of content came into Rena’s mind. The woman guessed this was a way of saying yes with out words.

“That’s good.” Rena smiled a little, seeing how childlike the creature was acting as a burst of giggles escaped her, which sounded like mews. The woman reached over and touched the creature’s fingers and the Mewtwo let out a squeak and withdrew them. A twinge of fear and shock entered Rena’s mind. The assistant scowled wondering why the little clone reacted in such a way.

“I won’t hurt you.” Rena spoke in a whisper trying to get the Mewtwo to come back. “Come back little one.”

'Hurth' the very child like voice whimpered, the word barely understandable. While it wasn’t spoken the innocents of it in the woman’s mind made her smile just at that.

“I know, you probably hurt from being poked and prodded earlier and who knows what else. But you’re ok right now. Let me see…” Rena bent down so she could look through the food latch. She gasped and jumped back in surprise, the assistant wasn’t expecting to come eye to eye with the Mewtwo who was doing the exact same thing Rena had done.

A burst of mewling giggles escaped the cell while amusement filled Rena’s mind. The woman shook her head as she had been a bit shaken but was smiling herself. This creature was acting simply like a little three year old.

“You’re a silly thing.” Rena commented as she bent down and saw the pink fingers stick through the food latch again. The blonde reached over slowly and touched the fingers again. They flinched but didn’t pull out. Rena gripped what she could of the little hand.

A feeling came from the creature inside, a curious poke. 'Wo? Woho' The voice tried to speak.

“Rena, Re-na” The assistant replied slowly. It was strange trying to understand the clone and at the same time it made perfect sense, like baby talk almost.

'Reeee' the little voice spoke happily now as the Mewtwo tried to say the woman’s name.

“Close enough.” Rena chuckled a little.

Another curious mental poke came from the small clone.

“Um…” Rena smiled as she realized what the pokemon wanted. She ran over the options in her head trying to think of what to answer with. She leaned her head against the wall as she gripped the pokemon’s little hand.

Another mental poke came to Rena’s mind. A more knowing poke at that… as if the little creature had something to say but didn’t know exactly how to say it.

'Ni..mmm'

“Your names Nim?” Rena raised an eyebrow at that.

A feeling of frustration came.

'Nim… a! Ie!'

“Nima.. ie?” Rena frowned as this didn’t seem to be working like it should be.

Even more frustration and the hand withdrew back into the cell.

“… Nimie?” Rena asked now as she turned her head to look through the slot into the cell.

'Eee!'

The fingers came back through and nearly poked Rena in the eye. The assistant guessed she was right.

“Hello Nimie.” Rena petted the pink little hand, she was curious about one thing.

How did Nimie know she had a name?

End chapter.

hehe thanks for the review! just to let you know though before the confusion spreads. Nimie is not THE mewtwo. That will be explained later in the plotline but jsut giving a heads up.

Instantly, I like this. Everything about it. ^^

I felt rather sorry for Rena, having to prod at Nimie when her compassion made her wish not to have to do so. It made me think of what it must be like to have to dissect a frog or something in class - thank God I never had to do that - and then you actually even made the comparison to frog-dissection, too. *shudders* Again, I am severely glad I've never had to do such a thing to a creature, alive or dead.

Nimie is adorable. She just is. She's also got a sort of fragility that makes her very pitiable, yet not wretched. ^^ I really like her childlike simplicity. And also her name; it's pretty. ^^

Highlights:

It does not live. For it was never born from a womb.
It does not feel for it never was given any feeling.
It can not think for it was never given any creativity.
It was made for one purpose, it is a tool.
It does not have a soul.
For we never gave it one.

Lovely. Sad, yes, but still lovely. ^^

The mind raced for an answer and though it spoke not with words it still called out to the other hoping for a reply. But none came to it. And it was alone.

And the mind mourned.

That’s’ just cool. Love that last line; it really has a nice impact to it.

She stared down at the pitiful creature lying on the table.

And she knew that everyone in this building was going to hell for what they were doing.

And there’s another little section that’s got good impact. ^^

Nice description of the amnio-goo-stuff covering Nimie (especially the comparison to snot). *shudders* Blechh, I could practically feel the slime myself…

I’ll definitely stick around for more of this one. It’s already won me over. ^^

You're welcome! ^^

Nimie's not Mewtwo? Then who did I huggle?

;025; - *grinning sheepishly* I pushed the Nimie person out of the way and you huggled me instead.

I swear... And no, PLEASE don't make Mewtwo female!

;025; - You heard her. She said 'Darn it'. Means she isn't. You stupid, stupid blonde.

*whacks* Anyway, see you soon!

Still the best part of your writing is your almost magical abiltiy to make things have character and realism. And the begining poem is intreging/mysterious too.

I don't have much to say as nothing's really happened yet other than setting things up.

Man, this is really giving me a lot of ideas....^^ *wants to do a Mewtwo story too but doesn't have the self-confidence* XP I loved tge part where they're wiping the snotty substance off Nimie...it's so creepy and disgusting, like a newborn baby. XD And a thumbs-up for having the Mewtwo on an operating table, and not busting out of a tank. XP

yay a review for me :D *hugs*

Meh its easy to write a mewtwo, fic :D little bit of emo... little bit of angyst, little love intrest... wtf..

anyway...

I thought about Nimie doing the whole 'tank bust' but when I look at her and her personality. It just screams naivity or stupidity... o.o'; so she actually was woken up from that status (*points at prologue*) and was drugged down so that she wouldn't go bezerk and be all *mewtwo blow up labish* then agian, she's to um... well you saw the way she acts.

Quick! look sleeping Nimie: http://i7.photobucket.com/albums/y253/LollyMyuu/Nimiecolored.jpg

am I cliche or what? Pink and purple colors... o.o well she is suppose to be innocent.

thanks for the review. I'm working on chapter two atm.

This story…is just…awesome. Reading the part where she had to stick the Mewtwo made me feel guilty as if I were the one doing it. The description was great and I could easily picture the surroundings as well as the people. It was a great beginning.

Man I write alot.... chapter rated pg-12 :p cuz its not really that bad. Just a dead body... the next two chapters are pretty bad though :D

Chapter two Prologue: Searching

The mind was so alone…. So terribly alone, if it had the ability to cry it would cry, for it mourned so much. It still searched for the other, the one that had been with it. It searched and it searched as the mourning mental cries echoed about the dreaming nothingness. It would give anything to bring its companion back or go to be with its companion.

This existence… was it existence? This… state of unknown it was in was horrible… for it was too much to bear alone. It wanted to be with the other, the other and it were meant to be together…

A spark, a twist of consciousness…

And the other was also gone.

Chapter two: Brute

The large mansion sat beside the sea, behind it a cliff of rocks and the rolling waves crashed about the rough sea. Around the building were many smaller structures that were storehouses and warehouses owned by the government that ran the ‘peaceful’ experiments. Inside the unknown building that sat at the edge of Cannibar island and its only residing town was a team of scientist, doctors and assistants. Either hired or ‘borrowed’ to do the bidding of the employers.

The three leveled complex was a maze of white hallways and stairways, lab coats and smelly chemicals. Complex equations and grumpy security staff, even deeper though, in the second level in a very special room.

Lay a pokemon.

A very special pokemon.

One of the mother’s of pokemon.

The creamy pink fur was clean and tidy; the tiny limbs rested against the padded table bellow her. Around her incasing her and keeping her forever asleep was a glass chamber of the most delicate and powerful design, a design in which left alone could keep such a creature at bay.

She had been asleep for so long, nutrition and life substances fed to her through mechanical ways, she now lived in her mind eye only. Watching but never able to do what she wished she could.

For she feared harming something she did not ask to have, but it was forced upon her. But she did not reject it nor did she hate it.

The pink creature accepted this Burdon with the love she was also created with.

The creature’s belly was swollen far beyond what her body seemed capable of, and on a heart machine…

Two hearts were beating as one.

The scattering sounds of pebbles or dirt echoed around the little cell. The pink and purple creature danced about as she flung her dry food pellets about the room in some incomprehensible game that she had made up. The small little Mewtwo seemed convinced that this was the right thing to do with food before she would dart around the room stuffing as much as she could into her mouth tell her cheeks budged.

It had only been three days, but to this clone of mew it had been the most amazing adventure of her life. Even if she had spent it all in this little room, only once having it opened as Rena had to clean up after the creature and retrieve food pans.

The Mewtwo had learned so much, like her new favorite word ‘no’ and her least favorite which just happened to be the opposite of it ‘yes.’

Nimie gave another burst of mewing giggles as she nearly tripped over her own food.

Rena was racing around the room, quickly filling pans with dry food, fish, meat, whatever the pokemon needed. She was in a hurry as she had been giving double duties today and her alarm clock failed to go off. She hated the dorms in the mid wing, they had power problems. But now was not the time.

Rena was dressed in a knee long dark blue skirt with a white blouse, her ID tag clipped to it and a lab coat over her outfit. Her uniform was in the wash since yesterday she had accidentally dumped raw fish all over it. She just hoped no one would yell at her for it.

Reeeeeee... a mental pause, NA!

“Yes, Nimie?” Rena called from where she was, her voice seeming calm but her actions showed panic. An annoyed feeling filled her head, seemed Nimie was trying to say something.

Nimie… a frustrated feeling now entered as the clone tried to figure out how to say what she wanted to say. But found she knew too few words and now pouted in the back of her cell, which was decorated with dry food pellets by now.

“It’s ok Nimie. I’ll talk to you later, Rena has to go now!” The young assistant called out, not noticing she just used herself in third person. A feeling of sadness overwhelmed Rena’s mind as Nimie began to whine and cry loudly in her mewing voice while her mental emotion link begged Rena not to leave.

But she knew better then to listen to it, she didn’t need to get into trouble. Rena grabbed up a folder called another Farwell to Nimie and fled the room moving quickly down the hallways.

Her shoes clapped against the tile as she moved with that speed only women can do in high heels. The blonde usually didn’t dress up but she was working in the records department and the old hag scientist there always wanted her assistants for the day to work professionally and look that way too.

The blonde assistant slowed her walk a little as she checked her wrist watch to see what time it was. She had a good five minutes before she had to report in and it was about two minutes away. Plenty of time… plenty… if she didn’t get lost…Again…

It seemed no matter how long Rena had been in this awful place, she still could never find her way out of it.

Four and a half minutes later, Rena stumbled into the simple room. It was lined with filing cabinets and book shelves. A few computers over in one corner and another assistant sat at a desk writing in paper work. Rena smiled a little; glad she wasn’t late, though she wanted to get here earlier. Getting lost is something she is rather good at.

The older assistant looked over; she was in her thirties and had reddish brown hair. “Hey, Rena.” She greeted before going back to work.

“Hey Erin,” Rena greeted back as she walked over to the main desk, she didn’t see the head scientist of this area anywhere around, she was glad for it as the woman was rather snappy and rude to Rena. The assistant picked up one of the files off the desk as she laid the one she had brought with her down, laying it in the ‘complete’ pile. The one she withdrew was just some common paperwork needed to be filled out, records to be checked and such.

The blonde sat down at the computer desk, opened the file and read the first few lines before clicking the mouse and searching for the right program. She hated these computers; the other labs had such more up to date ones that were mostly voice activated. But at least she knew how to work this one, to an extent.

Rena began to type and the world around her faded into a haze as she focused on her work, forgetting her worries and other duties as right now the important thing was to get this work done, because Rena was looking forward to her evening shower.

Two hours and a half later, ten folders and three cups of water and a mint, Rena was nearly done. The young woman grumbled a little as she sipped from her fourth cup of water. She hated paperwork, it was tedious and tiresome.

“It’s just unmoral, Doctor. We don’t run those kind of experiments.” An older woman’s voice grew louder as the old Prof. Hopson entered the room. She gave a quick glance around at the two far younger assistants before going over to her desk, her wrinkled hands moving some files.

Following the older professor into the room was a younger man, probably in his late twenties. He had rich dark brown hair and hazel eyes. He wore the normal dull blue uniform and a lab coat, but Rena couldn’t help but think he was rather handsome, but she quickly got back to work knowing how Prof. Hopson could be.

“Morals are a matter of opinion.” The young doctor replied simply as he glanced over at the assistant known as Erin. He took the files from the older woman before walking over to where Erin was working and said something to her in a whisper as he picked a file up from the desk, the young assistant paled just a little but nodded and gathered up her finished files and going over placing them in the complete pile.

Rena watched this accrue out of the corner of her eye as she continued to act busy. Erin and the doctor were making there way to the door when Prof. Hopson called over.

“Remember, Dr. Markus, Prof. Gray wants you in the generation lab sometime today.” the old woman reminded before turning back to work. The young doctor known as Markus gave a grunt in response as he looked through his files he held, he paused for a second and told Erin to wait. The young doctor made his way over to where Rena continued to ignore him. He stood behind her before leaning over her, his chest brushing the back of her head.

The blonde assistant blushed at the contact and stopped her typing. She glanced up with a flushed face a little confused as to why he was near, the charming faced man smiled as he gripped folder Rena had recently finished.

“Keep up the good work.” He chuckled.

Rena nodded in reply.

He turned adding the folder to the others and went back to the other assistant and the door and placed his hand on her shoulder and escorted the now very pale faced girl out.

Why… am I here? Why does it feel as if many have asked this before… and yet never get a true answer? I can see you and yet when you look back at me you act as if I am not even here… I want the other. Show me the other… I WANT TO BE WITH THE OTHERS!

A thundering roar, a scream of pain and shattering glass, alarms blaze and shouts are heard as people in white coats flee for their lives.

“SHOOT IT!” roared an ordering voice and the sounds of gun fire echoed down the halls of the laboratory mansion. Struggling and scuffles followed by another roar. Then silence.

Tap, tap, tap…

“Did we hit it?” a young guard, dressed in a gray uniform with his security badge on his chest stood outside the door, a specially modified gun resting against his shoulder.

An older man, a professor, stood near by. The head scientist sighed as he messed with the code beside the locked doorway. “I believe so, but someone maculated the dosage of drug the clone as suppose to be given before we woke it.” Prof Gray. “I don’t think it was hit with enough to subdue it.”

Tap, tap, tap…

“You hear that?” called out an assistant standing among the ten or so people outside the closed off lab. “Someone’s knocking on the door.”

The whole group turned their gazes towards the lab door. The taps still echoing as something continued to prod the door. A young professor spoke up standing out from the crowd, “What if its one of our comrades needing help?”

The tapping continued as the assistants and scientist began to speak among themselves as to what to do about the tapping and if they should open the door. Gray ignored them as he looked at the five guards standing near by. “I’ll be sending you lot in when I get these codes override.”

“But… but didn’t you see what it did to the doctor?” an assistant whimpered hiding behind a fellow assistant. “It attacked her and she hadn’t even provoked it! She was just talking and it grabbed her…”

“Silence!” snapped the head scientist as he typed in a few more keys and a small beep was heard. “There the doors can be open. If it’s not down yet shoot it tell it is. It is a threat and I wont it subdued NOW.”

As he spoke and was about to open the door, a certain blonde assistant was making her way down the hallway when she had been blocked by the crowd of people. Rena blinked as she held files that she was suppose to take to this very lab and listened in to what the fellow scientist and assistants spoke of.

“What’s going on?” the young woman asked as she tried to peer over the crowd.

“They had one of those clones in this lab; it woke up and just started attacking people. It was horrible; it killed the head professor of this apartment. I think they may kill it.” Said a very young boy, probably freshly out of school and seemed to have been one of the many assistants here against there wills.

The door slide open and…

~

‘No, Nimie, no.’ the clone seemed to speak to herself as she sat in her cell. Having no idea what Rena was facing now nor that a new clone had awakened. The clone just sat happily in the pile of food pallets and moving them around. She was playing a new sort of game and somehow thought the pallets to be play things.

She moved a group of them together and mashed them together into a mushy mess (she had dumped her water out) and then grabbed up a hand full of the mush, growled at it before stuffing it into her mouth and getting the mush all over herself. She swallowed it happily and gave a short purr.

The innocent creature then went back to play. Not knowing what danger lurked beyond the walls…

~

It was huge, towering mass of muscles and fur, it towered above most of the humans head and it was sitting. Everyone stumbled back a few steps as it just sat there looking out at them in the most amazed fashion. It was another mew clone, but it was far larger then the last one and defiantly male. He was an ugly gray color, murky almost like it was covered in dirt. His tail was a grassy yellow gold color with some tan that just reminded people of bodily things one should not speak about in public. He wasn’t a pretty creature, not like the last one.

He was huge like said before, muscular strong, intimating. He had dark yellow eyes and some purple hair on his head the only sign of anything relating to the clone sibling Nimie. His tail while ugly colored was as thick as a tree trunk and looked very heavy, being hit by it wouldn’t be fun at all, probably break a few bones let alone let you live through it.

On his head, beside his violet patch of hair were two horns, much like Nimie’s but while one looked healthy and normal the other was deformed and bent awkwardly. Coming from the back of its head was a tube, a second neck to help support the skull on the shoulders, it came and connected to the upper back, but another deformed issue had accrued, making the second neck split midway and while one connected the other attached to the main connection broke off and then ended and it hanged loosely the end closed off.

The whole hall had fallen quiet as everyone stared at the creature and it stared back. It wasn’t covered in blood like expected but yes it was still wet from being in the tube it was created in. Its eyes flicked about the group taking in the strange creatures and trying to learn what exactly his meaning was. Suddenly his eyes flashed and he withdrew.

‘Go away.’ The male voice echoed into their minds. It was deep and very, very rich, a handsome voice for something mentally projected into their minds. It moved away with the large imitating bulk that was the clone. The amazement on the guards told Prof. Gray that they were not prepared to shoot and he pointed his finger.

“FIRE!” he demanded.

They all raised their guns but as they did a loud tap was heard and a clunk the doors had closed. Everyone stood stunned a moment till someone realized what happened.

“It closed the door.” Spoke someone from the crowd.

The head scientist at first seemed to be pleased, this clone was showing much more progress then the last, but then again it was rebelling. “Someone go in there and sedate it so we can run tests.” He snapped at the crowd.

But everyone had seen how large and powerful that creature was, no one was prepared to deal with it and the guns they had with them were not made to bring down a creature of that size. The specially designed devices were more intended to knock out smaller prey into unconsciousness then this, who knew how many shots it would take. It was a terrifying creation, it could kill them, and no one was prepared to die.

Slowly Rena made her way to the front of the group to see what the professor was going to do. The clone looked so much like Nimie and just didn’t seem to be meaning harm to anyone. She didn’t want it to be killed… if only she could speak up… no she didn’t want to get punished.

Professor Gray was speaking with the guards, telling them what they had to do. Rena looked around as she listened in on what the head scientist was saying. The faces around her showed fear, concern and some just seemed annoyed. They had better things to do then just stand around here.

“We need to get the other drugs, sir. We need ten minutes to go to the offices and get them.” Said one of the guards, “Just ten minutes, that’s all we need.”

The head scientist sighed in annoyance but sent them off before turning and facing the door, thinking to himself, his hand on his chin as he brushed the beard.

Rena moved a little closer as she eyed the door, thinking about this herself. Suddenly she felt a slight twinge and a mental voice seemed to try and speak to her, but was having a hard time reaching as the psychic strength was not strong enough to go through walls.
‘Where is the other?’ the faded male voice spoke.

Rena blinked surprised, “Who?” she asked allowed, gaining the attention of Prof. Gray.

‘The other’ the voice weakly responded.

“I don’t have any idea what you are… who are you?” Rena seemed to have forgotten there was a crowd behind her and a very important scientist beside her. Of course Rena wasn’t good at multitasking.

“You’re… speaking with it?” Gray grinned, “It must recognize you or maybe… where do you work again? What department?”

Rena froze as she just realized that the head scientist was speaking to her, the shy blonde women turned her gaze towards the far older man. “Um… Pokemon storage and care.” She replied simply.

“What is the clone asking you?” the head scientist continued on.

“It wants to know where the other is. Who is the other?” she asked, showing how puzzled she was.

“The other…” Gray thought a moment, “It wants the other clone.”

‘I want the other. Now.’ the male voice flouted out and this time Gray also heard it, barely.

Rena felt a twinge of confusion and anger that time. Like how Nimie sometimes shared her feelings when she could not speak the words, this clone seemed to understand the human language better then her. “It’s getting mad.” The young assistant mumbled out feeling like everyone was staring at her – wait everyone was staring at her.

The scientist snapped his gaze back at Rena as she said that, and an idea seemed to flicker in his mind. He grabbed the girl’s shoulder, “Since it seems to only talk to you. Why don’t you go see if it will listen to you?”

Rena’s eyes grew wide, “Um… I’d rather not…” she mumbled.

“Oh it’s an order.” The scientist reached for the control panel and what seemed to be seconds later Rena was now standing inside of the room. She glanced over her shoulder at the closed door and gulped. Seemed once again her being nice to someone had gotten her in trouble.

She glanced around the room, while the other scientist had made it sound like a massacre she didn’t see the walls covered in blood or dead bodies everywhere. All she saw was some broken bottles, a smashed computer and…. Some dead scientist lying on the ground… Rena felt like she was going to be sick.

The scientist was lying sprawled on her back, her eyes rolled up and looking soulless, her body wasn’t white yet which showed she hadn’t been dead for very long. Rena heard movement and snapped her eyes over to the towering clone. It was just standing, hunched over a little as it was too tall for the room and would hit its head if it stood up straight. Its yellow orbs were watching Rena like a bird of prey.

‘I want the other.’ The voice spoke as it moved a few steps forward, its tree trunk like tail swinging.

“I…I…” Rena whimpered out as she pressed herself against the door. “N-Nimie is in her cell… she can’t come right now. You will have to wait.” The young assistant expected the large Mewtwo to start throwing a fit and go evil lab monster on her. But it just stood still eyeing Rena once more, its eyes flashed.

’How... long?’ The voice asked now as it began to move over towards the body on the floor.

“How long…? For what?” Rena dared to ask as she watched the clone just as carefully as it watched her.

’How long before I can see other?’ he corrected himself as his towering form bent down and prodded the body as it investigated. Rena for the first time took note of the large claws on the three fingered hands and two toed feet. She also noticed two sharp spikes that rose from the arms on the back of them, where the back of the hands were. They looked sharp and she guessed this was not part of the original design.

“I- um… I don’t know. When you stop scaring everyone, um don’t do that.” She tried to stop the Mewtwo from poking the body. The large man made creature looked at her.

’Why? I want it to get up. I was scared and I hit it and it fell… it won’t get it.’ the confused creature continued to prod it in hopes the body will rise again.

Rena felt a naïve vibe come from the creature, much like how Nimie was. But then again this one seemed to be a fast learner and perhaps more mentally mature.

“She’s dead.” Rena stepped forward moving a tad closer. The Mewtwo moved a little so that his front was facing her, he didn’t want to turn his back to the strange being.

’Dead?’ he asked his gaze turning up from the corpse and towards the blonde woman. His eyes flashed once more and then saddened. ’I made it die?’ the Mewtwo asked now as his eyes turned down towards the body and his large hand gripped the humans then dropped it, watching the hand flop.

“… How do you do that?” Rena asked, as the Mewtwo would ask a question, look at her then just know the answer.

’Do what?’ he replied curiously. He had now moved on from the body and still seemed to be saddened that he had done such a thing, was sentient life naturally reluctant to kill another sentient?

Or was this clone just different?

“You ask a question then you give the answer…” Rena mumbled “Like you ask it even though you all ready know why.”

A silence followed before the clone stood and moved closer to Rena, which caused the young woman to back away towards the wall. Even if he wasn’t threatening her just his mere size scared her. He didn’t get very close though, he crouched down now so he could be at almost eye level.

’When I look at you. I can hear things. It’s hard and hurts my head… but I can.’ he explained.

“Oh… you read my mind? … How far do you read?”

But their conversation was interrupted as the door slide open and the cocking of many guns was heard. An aggressive growl escaped the large clone and a defensive vibe came into Rena’s mind before the young woman felt herself grabbed by the large arms and her face pressed against the plated furred chest.

The blonde gave a muffled scream from surprise and found herself damp from the disgusting goop that covered the creature. Some shouts were heard as about four guards dressed in there gray outfits stood with large more menacing guns. The large male Mewtwo glared baring his fangs before letting out a tribal deadly roar that felt as if it shook the whole room.

Rena’s ears rang as the roar was rather close to her head.

The humans froze as they stared at the large creature, seeing how it held the young woman wrapped in its deadly arms. Rena tried to pull free, tried to pull away, but the grip was so tight she was finding it hard to breath. It was suffocating her, she was going to die if he didn’t let go.

The guards didn’t know what to do, had it taken her hostage? Was it going to kill her? They were not heartless men, they may not have fully understood what they were helping to protect but they did not wish to kill any human beings.

“I-I can’t… I can’t… breath.” Rena gasped out as she tried to pull her face away from the damp body and look up at the clone. The male Mewtwo was still glaring and baring his large fangs at the humans before turning his eyes down to the blonde assistant.

’Breath? … oh. as if he hadn’t even realized what he was doing. He slowly released Rena from his grasp, she smiled at him a little… he didn’t mean her any harm. He was just protecting her…

Bang.

Thud.

Scream.

Rena was shoved out of the way as the towering figure fell like a rock, the ground shook as his mass hit the ground at a harsh cracking rate and the assistant couldn’t help but scream. He wasn’t dead, no she knew they wouldn’t just kill him like that, they had worked to hard to get the special guns.

“Wait!” Rena called trying to shove her way back into the room. But a certain mute assistant shoved her back a little and shook his head in a no. Bart knew Rena’s place wasn’t in the cloning labs. They had tests to run still on the giant Mewtwo before anything else could be done.

The woman was forced out and the door closed, a few other scientist and assistants began to leave but the woman just stood there a moment watching the door.

“All he wanted was to see Nimie…” she mumbled.

The rest of the day went into a haze, after all the excitement it was hard for the assistant to keep a clear mind about her duties. She was wondering about the clone constantly, what were they going to do with him? Was he hurt? She had him under control. They didn’t have to shoot him.

She walked down the usual hallway her usual way to do her usual thing. Her arms were free this time around as she didn’t need to deliver anything, just had to feed the evening pokemon then get off duty.

The young assistant ran her fingers over the code pad as normal and leaned back on her heels as she waited for the red light to turn green and she could enter. A moment passed and the door opened and…

With a loud thundering roar that echoed down the halls like a roll of thunder Rena was knocked back off her feet nearly and slammed into the wall behind her. The now dizzy assistant heard the sharp clawing of something against metal and another loud roar.
Fear gripped Rena at first but she pushed away from the wall and entered the room quickly closing the door as to not draw attention. The pokemon in the cages and cells were throwing fits, mankeys leaping about their cages and a ratatta squeaked as it chewed on the wires of its cage. The whole room was in an uproar.

The assistant covered her ears wincing in pain as another loud roar came out and set the pokemon off once more. Cages rattled and food pans banged. Everything was in an uproar. But something poked out of all the madness something that entered Rena’s mind and told the young assistant something was wrong.

Fear.

Someone was afraid, very, very afraid. It only took a second for Rena to realize who and the woman dashed for the back of the room, still covering her ears. As she made her way back the loud thundering roars continued as the scraping and clawing began once more. Rena spotted the row of cells very soon and saw Nimie’s at first before the one next to hers. That was where the roars were coming from.

The new clone was in there and he was throwing a fit.

“Nimie? Nimie are you alright?” Rena nearly had to shout over the other clones roars as she bent down beside the cell and stuck her hand through the food hatch. Within seconds small pink fingers gripped onto the human’s.

’Rena… Rena… Nimie… Nimie… the small child like voice whimpered as the innocent creature searched for the words it wanted to say but found she did not know them. Great fear entered Rena’s mind and the woman knew what Nimie wanted to tell her.

“Its ok, he can’t get you. I’ll try and calm him down. It’s ok.” Rena nearly shouted once more as she tried to make sure Nimie heard her. She tried to withdraw her hand but the little clone would not let go.

’No’

“Nimie…” Rena sighed as she tried to comfort the clone. The roars still continued before a mental feeling different from Nimie’s probed Rena’s mind.

’I want her. I want the other. Please give her to me. I want her.’ the male clone begged his mind pleading and feeling Rena’s with the passion and hope the male had.

“Why?” Rena called out, “Why do you want her? Don’t you see? You’re scaring her!” she called out loudly now, hoping the large clone would hear and understand.

Silence followed, the roaring and clawing died down, and the only sounds now were of the still rampaging pokemon.
’Nimie… I want Nimie, I want to protect her. She is the other. The other that was with me before we had these… forms, I-I don’t want to be separated again.’ the sadness and loneliness that followed Rena’s mind made her feel like crying, it was a horrible feeling. A feeling of complete separation from the ones she cared about. An empty endless darkness where once there were two but now there were none…

Rena bit her lip in thought as she rubbed Nimie’s hand with her own. The young woman was trying to figure out what to say to calm both creatures.

But before the assistant could say anything, Nimie’s hand withdrew from Rena’s and some movement (pellets being pushed around) was heard and a clank before a small whimper followed.

’Nimie… Nimie… the innocent clone searched for the words she wanted to say once ore but once again found none. ’Arick?’

Once again both clones fell silent.

’Other… Nimie…’ the male voice spoke in reply, feeling of uttermost love and compassion in it. Of completion.

’O-oth-or… Arick.’ Nimie replied simply.

And Rena knew exactly what was going on. These two had been together before, before all of this… they knew each other. Nimie got her name from the newly named Arick and Arick got his name from … Nimie.

They were family.

Siblings.

And they were together again, and nothing could make them happier.

End Chapter.

Peace to the Mountain
Arick pwns.

I liked him at once. ^^ His personality is adorable; the brotherly love is irresistible. I like his physical design a lot too (especially the spikes); I looked at all the pictures you've posted in this thread (including the one of Nimie in an earlier post), and he, Nimie, and Rena all turned out very nicely. He's just cool as frell, Nimie's very pleasant-looking, and Rena looks particularly good...grr, I wish I could draw human characters that well. ><;

All the scenes with Arick were great. I also really enjoyed the scenes where Nimie was playing with her food. Dang, that was cute. ^^

Highlights:

A spark, a twist of consciousness…

And the other was also gone.

Ooh. Very lovely.

The Mewtwo had learned so much, like her new favorite word ‘no’ and her least favorite which just happened to be the opposite of it ‘yes.’

Cute! I think "no" is a favorite word among a lot very young people, as a matter of fact. ^^

It was huge, towering mass of muscles and fur, it towered above most of the humans head and it was sitting. Everyone stumbled back a few steps as it just sat there looking out at them in the most amazed fashion. It was another mew clone, but it was far larger then the last one and defiantly male. His tail was a grassy yellow gold color with some tan that just reminded people of bodily things one should not speak about in public. He wasn’t a pretty creature, not like the last one.

I love this paragraph. The first sentence has got a great impact to it - you're reading it, and you get the impression that he's big, yes...and then you see that he's so very tall even while just sitting, and realize that he's not just big - he's huge. Awesome. I also really like that "bodily things one should not speak about in public" comparison, eww. XP

Awww...That makes me wanna hug Arick. ;-; Even if he is covered in nasty amnio-slime there.

He slowly released Rena from his grasp, she smiled at him a little… he didn’t mean her any harm. He was just protecting her…

Bang.

Thud.

Scream.

Wow. I just love the way you wrote that. This is another example of how you create impact very nicely.

An empty endless darkness where once there were two but now there were none…

And that is just beautiful. Sad, yes, but still very beautiful. ^^

I'm continuing to enjoy this story immensely. Arick was a great addition, a character who leaves an immediate imprint. Terrific work. ^^

Lady Myuu

Damsel mostly Stressed.
yay you like him! <3 I love Arick myself, he is far more mature then Nimie but he automaticly knew that Nimie and he were meant to be togather and he wasn't going to let anything stop that.

He's adorable, scary, but adorable.

and good, you noticed that Rena is good looking. She's suppose to be, unlike my other characters who I usually go for as plain and normal. Rena is SUPPOSE to be a little more prettier and to draw attention in that way. She just hasn't noticed it yet, naive little Rena...

Rena's personality and design actually belongs to Renegade :p she was the one who helped me rp this story out.

Now I just need to write chapter five of IMW's then I can work on this next chapter when I feel like it.

Nimie is so adorable I had to get her more screen time in this chapter, thats why she had that random scene with her food XD <3

"It is my destiny."
Aw.. this was a sad chapter. Sad, but cute. *hugs*

Arick... that name pwns others, I mean it. An exotic way of spelling the name. (This is the third change to the name I've seen. My cousin's name is spelt 'Eyrk'.)

I loved the little reunion between sister and brother. Just so cute...

This part, however, happens to be my favorite.

Lady Myuu said:

Right there. My favorite part.

And this chapter wasn't bad. It was better than the first chapter. Makes me crave the next one...

Good job! *hands cake and hugs* Can't wait for the third chapter... Broken. Ooh... suspense approaching! And... the rest of the chapters are going to be longer. Oh well. Can't wait for more!

Hi Myuu I'm out of the closet... XP

I <3 this fic. It's really cute with the little innocent Mewtwos... Nimie is very kawaii. :3 And Arick makes me want to hug him badly. XP Overall your characters are very well made and make me all fuzzy inside.

You make some small grammar errors at random like leaving fragments...
The innocent creature then went back to play, not knowing what danger lurked beyond the walls…
Yes just a comma there, but that's not really common. Overall it's a minor thing...

Ah well anyway keep it up <3 Looking forward to future chapters.
