how come ash has never caught a fossil pokemon?

In my opintion he should have got Aerodactyl. I cant remember if Charizard or Jigglypuff fainted it. If it was Charizard Ash could have caught it. If Jigglypuff sang and it fainted he couldnt have caught it. But still he should have caught it.

And to answer the topic question, because he maybe sees them once per region, and usually those episodes just discuss, "ZOMG! HOW ARE THESE POKEMON STILL ALIVE/REVIVED?"

cos they're fossils...simple. fine all those that are "ancient" are back in the day to day pokemon world, there are only a few about. all those that are knocking around are part of a preservation/research facility or cannot be removed without causing an island to sink into the sea or something.

You know, Ash can't catch EVERY pokemon. Although it would be cool for Ash to have a fossil pokemon, it's not that likely considering there are a lot of other choices for Ash to catch (i.e. the pokemon he has now were examples of pokemon suiting him).

your not supposed to judge people by rank its in the rules. ontopic because can you really imagine ash with arerodactyl, kabutops, omastar, crawdily, armaldo, tateposu, or the had butting dinosaur? people say ash isnt getting buuburn if thats true then theres nooooooo way he'll ever get the fosills. at the end of the series the'll probably have the narrator come on and tell everyone that hes caught one of every species(at one time or another) but they cant show him catching them all

Who cares about rank? I have 11,000+ posts on this forum, but you don't see me giving a damn about my post count, do you?

I couldn't care less about ranks, and nobody else should either.

at least i post and i try my best to make good trheads unlike some people that have been her for 3 months and are still beginning trainer

Ash didnt catch a fossil Pokemon, because, other than Aerodactal(SP?), they all basicly suck. He would be better to catch a Lucario, IMO.
