Friday: Mysterious Silhouette

Could be a revival of Viva Piñata, but that series isn't very popular. I could understand if it was Harvest Moon but why show a regular horse, why not show the new farmer.

I messed around with the image
Couldn't get much out of it
But I seen it has a tail
Of course its an animal,
Maybe a pony with a big head but I not sure
I don't think it is pokemon related
that could be one of two things. something from viva pinata or a new horse/pony related poke aside from Ponyta and Rapidash

... Monster Rancher? The silhouette seems to be similar to the design of a few monsters in that series (big head, little body), but the closest thing to a horse monster would be a deer in the Japanese-only MMO. Something " surprising " might be a game that could be seen as a competitor on the surface. Monster Rancher is more of a simulation game than a RPG like Pokemon.

A Monster Rancher Game hasn't been released on console since Tecmo merged with Koei in 2010. The last handful were for Nintendo handhelds, though.

One of Tecmo/Koei's game series? Nobunaga's Ambition.
I could see monster rancher, it could use a revival, it's another monster franchise that was popular back in the day and could make good use of gf's magic touch. It would be cool to see a collaboration on that but you know what would be cooller? DigimonxPokemonxMonsterRancher for the ultimate Mon crossover!

I honestly think the silhouette looks a lot like the beartic sprite from Rumble Blast. Some sort of bear maybe?

Hi. I see I am not the only one thinking the silhouette is a Digimon. I think from what it says about surprising collaboration.... my guess is Digimon... but there really isn't much to go on. I suppose the reason I am guessing Digimon is because of the writing in the background of the silhouette (similar to how Digimon have the Japanese writing in the background after digi-volving) but it most probably is not the case...

But then there's supposedly a "scoop of the century" thing with pokemon in the Japanese pokemon magazine next month... I am intrigued as to what this "scoop" is and if it is actually something decent or just some rubbish like "new mystery dungeon game, oh and what's new is you get to use gen VI starters..."

I have a feeling that this thing will be Digimon . And CoroCoro said that next month we will see the biggest scoop of the century . I'm afraid that Pokemon and Digimon will . . . Nooo . I'm scared .
Digimon wouldn't surprise me in the slightest. Did anybody else notice how the evolution animation in gen V looks pretty damn close to "digivolving"

I still question the logic of Gamefreak revealing this information at this moment in time.

Is it to ride the coattails of hype from X and Y?

The ambiguous phrase also makes it confusing.

Depending on what it says, it says "Game played around the world, is about to be reborn"

I don't know about you but I hardly think Digimon qualifies, considering that the only digimon game I've played was online, and was free to play.

I haven't even bothered with any of the retail digimon games, only because they don't appeal to me.

And I know that's just my perspective, but unless you are a full digimon fan, I can't see why a lot of people would play the games, in order for there to be a collaboration with Gamefreak and be considered a "game" played around the world. I would think it would be something more popular.

I just have no idea what Gamefreak would do in this instance. For all we know it could be a Square Enix / Gamefreak Collaboration.

I don't know, but if it's not at all relevant to Pokemon, I just can't see why they'd put this out now, when people are eagerly awaiting Pokemon X and Y.

Personally I don't think it's Digimon. They've been doing their own thing with their anime and games for a while and to cross-over Pokémon and Digimon would take a painstaking amount of work to iron out all the universal differences.

I've played the Digimon RPG games on DS and I don't think it would work as well with Pokemon as Nobunaga's Ambition...

I agree with this, I just cannot see how a Digimon World Dawn/Dusk style game would work with Pokémon, for one thing Digimon can only reach level 99, they can legitimately have 9999HP/MP and 999 Stats and how ridiculous would it look to have an Agumon, Pignite and Gabumon following you?

all hax or no hax.
Digimon? My first thought was pulseman.

I dunno, from how the announcement worded it, it sounds like it should be a really popular series that is also well known internationally... Of course, that ends up making nearly everything a possibility.

I'm gonna go with the dudes earlier who said Viva Pinata.
Now, I know that someone else pointed out that the Viva Pinata series wasn't so popular and the quote suggests otherwise. But this is PR talk. It doesn't have to be true, alot of marketing seems to hinge on the idea of "If we tell people something is great and popular enough times they'll eventually believe it."

The "horse shaped creature" could just be the shape of the title. I think some of you are looking too much into this.
I can't imagine a title like this. This would be really strange shaped, don't you think?

Anyway, whatever it is and if it pokemon related or not.. We can be sure to find many pokemon related easter eggs in this game. Like in harmoknight.
