Friends From Two Worlds (a tale of a young wizard and a Pokemon trainer.)

chosen_one386

Angel of Chaos
Well..... due to the failure of my last fic, I decided to start another one. The inspiration came to me just last week when my mother and I went to see Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire. I started daydreaming about what it would be like to have the young wizard and a young Pokemon trainer meet at Hogwarts. Some events in the story are made up, some are taken from the newest book: the Half- Blood Prince and are really in the book. Deciphor which ones are fake and which are real. Warning: May include spoilers for the 6th book in the Harry Potter series.

Prologue:
Rain poured down. Cold, hard rain. The only warmness in the large room was from a fire roaring in the fireplace. The room was layered in gold and red, with two halls that led to a boys' and girls' dormitories. Two chairs were drawn up tp the fire. In one sat a boy, fourteen years old, with dark black hair, glasses, and a lightning bolt-shaped scar on his forehead. The other contained a girl, also fourteen, with golden blond hair and strangely beautiful crystal blue eyes. At her feet sat a small electric Pokemon that looked like a mouse. The Pikachu was sound asleep. Suddenly, the girl burst into tears.

"Oh Harry," she sobbed, "I can't believe..."

The boy stood up and shook his head, "Don't worry, Kris, it's going to be OK." He walked over to the window and sighed. So much had happened during the last school year. So much had happened since Kris had first arrived at Hogwarts.

-----

About a year before Kris and Harry sat in the Gryffindor common room, a man with rough grey hair and steely eyes sat and waited in his office. Waiting for a man he neither knew nor seen before. He glanced at the clock, wandering if the guest would arrive or not. Suddenly, a knock sounded on the door and a tall man with blue hair walked into the room. He wore a white cloak which stood out against the other man's black one.

"Sootopolis, good, you're here," the grey haired man stood up to shake the oddly dressed man's hand, "Rufus Scrimgeour," he said, introducing himself.

"Wallace Sootopolis," th other man replied.

"Last time I met the Pokemon Champion, it was Stone," Scrimgeour said.

"Last time I met with the Minister of Magic, it was Cornelius Fudge," Wallace replied.

"So, what did you want to talk to me about?" Scrimgeour asked.

"It's about the Chosen One, Kristal Reeves. Dumbledore has agreed to let her come to Hogwarts to learn the other side of the force," Wallace replied.

"Why should she? She's fighting against the Shadow Forces, not the Dark Lord."

Wallace leaned in close and lowered his voice so he would not be heard, "We believe that the Dark Lord may have ties to the Shadow Forces."

Scrimgeour sat back in his chair and sighed, "Since the Great War started, the Death Eaters have started to get restless..." he paused, "Has Kristal ever stayed in a school long before?"

"No, actually not. But, I'm sure she'll do fine. She's been studying and practicing all summer long."

"Why should she be here in the first place, we have no threats from the Shadow," Scrimgeour replied.

"Like I said, the Dark Lord may have ties to the Shadow," Wallace stood up, nodded a good bye to the Minister, and left. Scrimgeour watched the Aquapolian leave and wandered why,all of a sudden, the half- human and half- Pokemon race was so interested in the doings of the magical community. Sure, the Aquapolians took human form and had Pokemon types, but they weren't magical and didn't communicate with the Ministry hardly at all. Scrimgeour looked out his window at the pouring rain and wandered what the world was coming to.

Well... Please review!

Nice story I just read it. If its no troblue asking what do you mean by half-human, half-pokemon and what is a aquapolian? The story is awsome. Somepeople think a Harry Potter with Pokemon is kind of dumb but by the story it sounds really cool.

chosen_one386

Angel of Chaos
VERY good question! An Aquapolian is a person who is half- human and half- Pokemon. This race is very adaptable and strong, due to the fact that they take human form but have a Pokemon type. Wallace, for instance, is a water type and can use water attacks just like a water Pokemon could. In my story, most of the people in the Pokemon world, which I based in the Pacific (I call it Southern Japan), are Aquapolian. The rest are either human or magical folks (like Harry).

Interesting combo, to say the least. I really wanna see where this goes.
Twas a bit short, but it is the prologue. There's one thing that irked me, though.
In the beginning of the prologue you described Harry as being 14 years of age, but if your using material from the Half-Blood Prince then Harry should be 16.

Anyway, this story has potenial so don't screw up.(jk)

Waiting for a man he neither knew nor seen before.

That’s not a complete sentence.

Wallace leaned in close and lowered his voice so he would not be heard, "We believe that the Dark Lord may have ties to the Shadow Forces."

MOST HILARIOUSLY OBVIOUS DEDUCTION EVER! Okay, okay, to me, anyway. [that rhymed. Watch out, NiGHTS!] As a person not really versed in the Harry Potter mythology, I'm sure I'm missing something here. But you have to appreciate how funny that scene is from my POV.

When I read that this fic had Harry Potter elements in it, I almost clicked “back” because I haven’t read any of the Harry Potter books, nor have I seen the movies. I ended up reading it, anyway, though, so that I could give you general advice.

If this fic is going to be for everyone, then you might want to develop some of the situations a bit more and not just assume that everyone can appreciate their significance. Otherwise, you might want to put up a warning that says, "If you don't know Harry Potter, you will not know what's going on". Maybe you figure one should assume that a pokemon-harry potter crossover would be confusing to anyone unfamiliar with one of the two series? Well, wtvr. You have a very wide audience of Harry Potter fans if this fic is not for the general public.

Anyway, it's always good to see a new fic with fresh ideas. Keep writing.

Thanks for the reviews. I must say this is going on better then my last fic. By the way, Harry IS 16 in the Half Blood Prince, (I have the book in my hand right now) but I made him 14 in my story. That's one of the things I made up! Good to see you knew that. Don't worry if you are confused right now, everything will become clearer soon.... Here's the first chapter. Enjoy!

Chapter 1

"Harry! Come on, we're going to miss the train!"

Harry Potter snapped out of his thoughts and turned to watch as his friend Ron Weasley pointed toward the large train they were beside in the station. Ron had red hair and freckles, and as he stood with his mom, dad, and younger sister Ginny, Harry started to see a family resemblence. All four of them had red hair and looked quite alike. Harry sighed. People always told him he looked like his father, James Potter, who was killed by a Dark wizard. His eyes, though, were said to be his mother's, Lily Potter, who was also killed by the same wizard.

"Harry, do you have everything?" Mrs. Weasley had always bustled over Harry, thinking he was too thin because of the treatment he got from his aunt and uncle. God, he was glad to be away from those two.

Harry wasn't listening though. He had spotted further down the platform (9 and three quarters to be exact) two peculiar people. Now finding peculiar people in the wizarding world is like finding a legendary Pokemon in your bathtub. All I will say is, it is very out of the ordinary. He noticed one of them had on a black wizarding cloak, but looked very out of sorts in it, like he had never worn it before. The man in the black cloak had bright red hair and a sort of imposing presence, especially since there was a strange black and gray dog sitting at his side. Harry didn't think it was a dog though, it looked kind of like a wolf. The man was talking to a girl about Harry's age, who also looked out of place, but was dressed in Muggle clothing. (Muggles are non magical folk). She had golden blond hair, and was that a big yellow mouse standing on her shoulder?! Harry had never seen anything like it before....

"Harry, there you are!"

Harry spun around and saw his other friend, Hermione Granger, running toward him. She had brownish red hair and was the smartest witch in their year.

"Hurry up Ron, we have to get on board, now!" she yelled. All three climbed aboard the express that would take them to their fourth school year at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.

Meanwhile, the two misplaced people Harry had seen on the platform were still talking.

"You sure you have all of your supplies? Everything?" the man asked anxiously.

"Yes, Maxie," the girl rolled her eyes at her mentor. He gave her a look that said, "You better listen to me."

"Kris, just be careful and don't get into trouble the first day. And please keep Pikachu in the dormitories so it doesn't get into trouble either," Maxie replied.

"I will! And don't worry about me, I've been studying on spells and charms all summer long. If I can't perform a spell, I'll just use my powers!" Kris said.

Maxie gave her another look and nodded good- bye. "Remember, I'll be in the teachers' compartment if you need me! Bye, Kristal!" He walked toward the other end of the train, his Mightyena following after him. Kris sighed, and suddenly remembered that was the first time he had called her by her real name. She remembered when she had first met the Team Magma leader. For years, she and her friends tried to stop the evil team from capturing Groudon, the legendary Pokemon of the land. For years, she had also tried to stop Team Aqua, who were bent on capturing Kyogre, the power of the sea. But, she and Maxie were mortal enimies for years until the Great War had started just a couple of months before. The Great War was a war against the human race, a war in which the powers of land, sea, and sky were taken over by the Shadow Forces, a branch of the evil team Cipher who made Shadow Pokemon. The leader of the Shadow Forces was Master Greevil, or the Shadow as he was called. Greevil wanted to distroy the human race and rise the Aquapolian race. Kris, as the Chosen One, was the only one who could stop him. Before the Great War started, though, she had to make a pact with the leaders of Team Magma and Aqua, Maxie and Archie. Both teams now helped her defeat the Shadow Forces. Maxie, who was a greater rival against Kris then Archie was, had even taken the job as her mentor to help her with her powers. Powers that even the legendary Pokemon couldn't hold.

All this was nearly too much for Kris, who had started out just a normal trainer from Pallet town. Her whole family had been killed, her parents died in a fire just that winter. Her father, Norman, was the Petalburg Gym Leader. When he died, she got her best friend Ash Ketchmen to become the new leader. Suddenly, she realized she had to get on the train and hurried to climb aboard.

Harry, Ron, and Hermoine had already found a compartment to sit in and Harry noticed that Hermoine was very excited about something.

"What is it Hermoine?" Ron had noticed as well.

"The Chosen One is coming to Hogwarts and she's going to be in our year!" Hermoine burst out.

"The Chosen One?" Ron asked, confused.

"Yes, the Chosen One, the angel who is to stop the Shadow Forces!"

"Is she really an angel?" Harry asked, interested.

'Yes! I can't wait to meet her! Her name is Kristal Reeves!"

"Bloody hell Hermoine! Kris Reeves! She's the best Elite Four member in Southern Japan! She's the best Pokemon trainer in the world! And she's coming here?!" Ron shouted.

Kris was wandering the corridors of the train, trying to find a compartment she could sit in. Pikachu was asleep on her shoulder. Suddenly, a boy with whitish blond hair stepped in her way.

"Well, who do we have here?" he asked, looking smug.

Kris decided to be polite and said, "My name is Kris Reeves."

"Of course! Everyone knows who you are! The name's Draco Malfoy!" Kris noticed he was flanked by two large boys. She nearly laughed, they seemed like bodyguards to her.

"Anyway, if you need help around the school, I could show you around!"

Kris shook her head, getting the feeling these were guys she didn't want to be around. She hurried ahead, leaving Malfoy scowling behind her.

Oh no...head...explode...too much...info...ma...tion! *sexplodes* (Comical word created by Saber)

Yes, um, excuse me, needed to, uh, get that outta the way. It was short. If there was a T-storm why didn't you just save it and continue it after it passed(the storm that is, not gas).

Anyway, there was alot of background info concentred in that little chapter. Some of it could been revealed in later chapters through dialogue or by some other means.

Also, the description of Kris seemed cliche to me. Just an ordinary trainer who turns out to be a "Chosen One". I think that's been done before. She seems to be bright, detecting that Malfoy was bad news. Maybe too bright? Or maybe not.

I did like how you made a different race of people; the Aquapolians. Nothing like something original to spice up a story. Interesting that you made the pokemon world being located south of Japan, or was it Southern Japan? Whatever. Just keep on trucking dude(or is it dudette?).

I like Harry Potter as much as I like Pokemon. I have a fanfiction that I am writing that has Pokemon and Harry Potter crossed over. Unfortunately, it is only one half of the fanfiction. The cast of Pokemon visit other worlds but I probably shouldn't advertise it here.

But it seems like this is a good fanfic. Keep up the good work.

Argh, I am one bored dudette! I might as well write chapter 2. Enjoy!

Chapter 2

Kris sighed and continued down the train. Every student she passed stopped and stared as she walked past. She felt her face go red. Did even the witches and wizards of this world recognize an Elite Four member, when no Pokemon were located outside of Southern Japan?

Finally, she found a compartment that held only three students her age. She gasped as she recognized the boy with black hair and a lightning shaped scar on his forehead. She decided to enter...

Harry, Ron, and Hermoine looked up as a girl about their age opened the compartment door. Harry realized with a shock it was the girl he saw on the platform talking to the red haired man.

"Hello, um, is it OK if I sit with you?" she asked.

All three of them nodded, wordless. Ron and Hermoine knew who she was, but Harry, who was isolated from the wizarding world outside of Hogwarts, only noticed a very distenct feature on her face. Her eyes were an oddly beautiful shade of crystal blue which matched the pendent around her neck. The girl sat down near Harry and smiled.

"My name's Kris Reeves," she said to him.

"I'm Harry Potter," Harry replied, suddenly aware who the girl was, "I've heard of you somewhere before..."

"And I of you! Harry Potter, 'The boy who lived'"

"Kris Reeves, the Chosen One," Harry smiled. He had finally found someone he could connect with. Someone who was just as famous, maybe even more so, then he was.

"And Elite Four member! And Vice- Champion of Southern Japan!" Ron added, "M- My name is Ron Weasly!" he stuttered.

Hermoine rolled her eyes at Ron, then turned to Kris,"I'm Hermoine Granger!"

"The smartest witch in Gryffindor!" Ron added.

Kris smiled, she had heard of the four houses of Hogwarts: Gryffindor, Slytherin, Hufflepuff, and Ravinclaw. "Are you all in Gryffindor?"

"Yes!" Harry said, then glanced at Kris' Pikachu, who had just woken up, "What is tha-"

"It's a Pikachu!" Hermoine exclaimed, "It's an electric Pokemon! Can I hold it? I've never seen a real Pikachu, or Pokemon for that matter!"

Kris nodded and Pikachu happily bounced in Hermoine's lap as she started to scratch its ears, which it liked.

Before they could converse more, Malfoy entered the compartment.

"Well, I see you've met Potter, Weasley, and Granger," he sneered, "Pretty poor company for the Chosen One, isn't it?"

Kris seriously didn't like this guy now. "No, actually, it's not!" she said.

Malfoy scowled and left the compartment. Hermoine turned to Kris. "I take it you've met him before?"

"Yes... unfourtunately..." Kris replied.

"Malfoy's in Slytherin and he is smug, stuck up..." Hermoine gave Ron a glare before he could go on with his list, for a witch with grey hair, glasses, and a black cloak and hat had slid open the compartment door.

"Oh, Miss Reeves, I see you've met some of your fellow Gryffindors!" she said, "My name is Minerva McGonagall, I'll be your Transfiguration teacher and I am head of house for Gryffindor. I came to tell you Proffessor Dumbledore has gone ahead and put you in Gryffindor! I'll see you four later!" she closed the door and all four grined.

"I'm so glad I'll be in Gryffindor! Are you all fourth years, too?" Kris asked.

"Yes!" Harry was excited to learn more about Kris, but another inturupption inturuppted their conversation.

This time, a wizard with black hair, black eyes, and a black cloak had opened the door. Malfoy was standing behind him, sneering.

"I see you've met Potter, Miss Reeves," the wizard said, "Severus Snape," he introduced himself. Kris decided there was no need in introducing herself. "I am the head of house for Slytherin and will be one of your teachers this term," though he didn't say what he taught, "As Potter can tell you, fame will get you no where at Hogwarts, even if you are the Chosen One." He left without another word. Kris scowled at Malfoy as he followed Snape.

"Ugh, no way am I ready for another term of Potions with HIM!" Ron said.

Kris nodded silently, automatically putting him on her list of top 10 most annoying people she had met. He was either #1 or #2, she couldn't decide. Suddenly, another inturruption happended. Harry recognized the red haired man he had seen Kris with on the platform immediately.

"Oh, good, you found a compartment!" he said, turning to the other three, he said, "My name is Maxie, I'm from Southern Japan, too. I'll be one of your new teachers this year."

Harry, Ron, and Hermoine introduced themselves to Maxie. Harry realized the dog he had had with him earlier was not there.

"Anyway, I have to go, bye!" Maxie nodded and left the compartment.

Soon afterward, Maxie ran into McGonagoll, whom he had met earlier. She was talking to a wizard with black hair and a black coat. Suddenly, she spotted him.

"Maxie, there you are! I wanted to introduce you to the Slytherin Head of House, Severus Snape!" she motioned to the wizard beside her, "You two will be sharing classes this year!"

The two men shook hands and McGonagoll left, leaving the two alone. Snape and Maxie stood in silence for a while, until Snape said, "You're Team Magma's leader, aren't you?" he sneered.

"Yes, I am..." Maxie realized the word that Team Magma and Aqua had joined the Light Forces had not reached the wizarding world yet. He could understand that any of the other teachers would be wary of him. But Maxie took an instant dislike to Snape, seeing as he had been treated with respect from the other teachers.

"Well, when owls start to arrive from parents who don't want their students to be taught by Team Magma's leader, then, well, don't say I didn't warn you," Snape nodded and turned around to leave the hallway. Maxie frowned. He couldn't believe Dumbledore had paired him up with the likes of Severus Snape.

Meanwhile, Kris was telling Harry, Ron, and Hermoine everything she could about Southern Japan. Suddenly, a large building loomed ahead. Kris gasped, it looked so much like a castle.

To give you a size measure of this building, have you ever seen the Biltmore house in the U. S.? That house is the largest in the country. If you haven't, just think HUGE BUILDING! Think two to three times as big.

"What is it?" Kris gasped.

Harry smiled, "That, Kris, is Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry!"

*looks interestedly at the fan-fic* Hmm, this fic seems promising. I like how you intro'ed everyone, very fluent! And PIKACHUUUU! *squee* luv that pokemon! It's a little too informative, but I weirdly get this picture forming in my mind of them sitting in the compartment on the train.

*bleh* Being an avid Ruby player, Maxie just strikes my thoughts as weird. Of course, I like the pairing with him and Snape. Also, some more potential there. *taps chin*

ANYWAY, I think I'll stay a while, just to see how things turn out.

Glad you mentioned the rivalry between Maxie and Snape, Latias_tamer_3! It's going to get more fierce! Here's Chapter 3!!!!!

Chapter 3

Barely an hour later, Kris, Harry, Ron, and Hermoine sat at a long table with the other Gryffindors in a large hall. There were four long tables crossing the halls: one each for Gryffindor, Slytherin, Hufflepuff, and Ravinclaw. At the end of the hall was the staff table. Kris noticed that Maxie and Snape sat beside each other, glaring at the other. Were those murderous glares they gave each other? Kris thought as much.

Then, she looked up at the ceiling absentmindly and, shocked, noticed that the ceiling looked just like the dark, clear night sky outside. Her thoughts were interuppted by a booming voice.

"Attention!" A wizard with long white hair and beard wearing half- moon spectacles stood at the front of the staff table. He had a wise and imposing presence, Kris knew this was the Headmaster of Hogwarts, Albus Dumbledore.

"Welcome to Hogwarts, first years, and welcome back to the rest of you! I have several announcements to make! #1! Due to recent events, the Black Forest outside the school grounds is forbbiden to both students and teachers! #2 is the most importent!" Dumbledore looked at Kris for a second, then continued, "We are currently involved in the Great War! For those of you who are not familiar to the legend, then please listen!"

Kris glanced over at the Slytherin table and spotted Malfoy, smirking at her. She scowled back as Dumbledore continued, "3,000 years ago in Southern Japan, the powers of the land and sea began to war with each other. The power of the land, Groudon, caused droughts, earthquakes, and erupted volcanoes. The power of the sea, Kyogre, caused floods, hurricanes, and tidal waves. The two legendary Pokemon fought for decades, until, finally, an angel descended and calmed the two beasts, then vanished. That angel was the Chosen One, Quamachi. It was prophecised that 3,000 years after the war, the force that caused Kyogre and Groudon to fight would rise the powers of earth, sea, and sky to destroy the human race. This force is the Shadow. You will learn more throughout the term."

"#3, we have three new additions to the teaching staff this year. Two are Aquapolians, one is a wizard. Firstly is Proffessor Horace Slughorn."

A chubby wizard with a mustache and beard stood up.

"Proffessor Slughorn will take his former position as Potions Master."

A murmur filled the room. Kris turned to Harry with a quizzical look on her face.

"For as long as I can remember, Snape's been Potions Master," he explained, "But then, what is Snape teaching?"

Slughorn sat down. Dumbledore waited till the noise calmed down before he continued, "Another new teacher you will have this year is Wallace Sootopolis, the Champion of Southern Japan."

An even louder murmur rippled through the room. Hermoine gasped as a young man with blue hair stood up. She got a dreamy look in her eye, and Kris knew it was not just because Wallace was Champion. Kris smiled, she didn't blame Hermoine. Wallace WAS good- looking, now that she thought of it.

"He will be teaching History of the Legendary Pokemon. And yes," he looked over at some of the smirking Slytherins, "you WILL need to learn about the legendary Pokemon."

"Our third new teacher this year is also an Aquapolian. He is the leader of Team Magma, as you know has joined the Light Forces. Your Defense Against the Shadow Forces teacher this year will be Maxie."

Maxie stood up and a murmur rose among the Slytherins. Snape looked smug as Maxie sat back down.

"Now, we have made a few changes to our excisting staff. Proffessor Snape will be teaching Defense Against the Dark Arts."

"No!" Harry and Kris shouted loud enough for a couple of heads to turn. Kris turned to Harry once again.

"Uh, why are we saying 'no'?" she asked.

"Snape, he's been after that job for years now! The job's jinxed, we can't keep a teacher in that subject for more than a year!" Harry whispered furiously while Dumbledore continued.

"Due to the increase in staff size, Wallace and Proffessor McGonnagoll will do a joint session this year. Maxie and Proffessor Snape will as well."

Kris gasped and looked up at the staff table. She had heard Dumbledore was mental, but very wise, but this.... How can two different people be put in the same classroom together to teach when it appeared they would rather kill each other first?!

So immerssed in these thoughts she was, when she heard Dumbledore from far away announce, "To my great pleasure, I would like to introduce Kristal Reeves, the Chosen One!"

Kris stood up absentmindly and with a jolt, suddenly realized everybody in the great hall was looking at her. All nearly 300 of them..... How could she battle in a stadium filled with thousands of people and not feel nervous and then be faced with only a couple hundred kids around her age and feel like disappearing?

"Kristal will be a fourth year in Gryffindor, so please welcome her!" a ripple of applause filled the room and Kris' face started to burn. Finally, she could sit down and her first feast at Hogwarts began.

Pikachu sat next to her, happily eating a bowl of apples specially set out for it. It looked content as Ginny, Ron's little sister, fussed over the adorable Pokemon.

Harry and Ron were still discussing Snape and Defense Against the Dark Arts. Hermoine nearly fainted when Wallace came by to say hi. Kris was too tired and caught up in her own thoughts. She couldn't wait until morning and her first day of school at Hogwarts.

*Ignores demented Lugia* I noticed only one problem that bugged me the most. Ravinclaw is actually spelt Ravenclaw, that was my only deal. :D I can stare at grammar mistakes all day, just...not...spelling.

Hehehe, I just had a hilarious thought drift into my mind that involves a certain Slytherin and a little yellow mouse....

Hey, thanx, chosen_one!

Here's the summary of my story (which is called "The Dawning of an Adventure" )

Wallace stood there, glued to the spot. He lifted a leadened hand to push his sea_green hair out of his eye. He didn't know how long he stood there in the rain, replaying the moment over and over again in his head. He licked his lips and tasted Heather's lipstick, and the cold feeling of dread spread through him.
"Wallace!" He turned around hoping he had imagined her entering the Cave of Origin. To his disapointment it was Juan.
"Yes?" His voice sounded far away to him.
"You've got to come inside!"
"I do not wish to."
"Wallace!" Juan sounded worried. "Wallace, you've got to listen to me! There's nothing you can do for her. Now, please, you're in shock!" At that moment a shrill scream pierced the air, and Kyogre's roar shook the ground. Wallace coundn't take it anymore. He whipped around, and with a flash of his cloak, he vanished into the cave.
