I made a throw away Fire Red game on my OLED and traded over the female Charmander and a Pidgey to help me in LG today and to evolve Kadabra into Alakazam. Trained Charmander from lv 5 up to lv 25 and evolved it into Charmeleon and it was my main in the battle with Erika. Alakazam also helped a bit with Psychic on Vileplume. I’m currently in the Pokémon Tower after calming the Marowak ghost. Still need to get Gastly.

Just level grinded on route 3 to get my current team to lv 16 and above and Im now going through mt moon.

My current team is:
Charmeleon lv 18
Pidgeotto lv 18
Pikachu lv 16
Nidorino lv 16
Nidorina lv 16

I got the Pokéflute yesterday and caught Snorlax. I also got Surf and Strength and a couple of Safari Zone Pokémon. I managed to pull up three Dratini but was unable to catch them successfully. I did manage to get a Nidoran Male and Nidorina and I think one Exeggcute and Rhyhorn.

Well yesterday I became Champion. My little Bulbasaur that I got from Oak, he was unable to beat Blue’s Charmander in our first battle.

We left on the adventure and were joined by many new team members who I’ve not used in previous runs.

I beat Blue with that very same Bulbasaur by my side, and managed to get entered into the hall of fame with:
Bulbasaur
Nidoking
Charizard
Lapras
Scyther
Dragonite

Now we’re off to explore the Sevii islands in hope of capturing some Johto Pokemon.

I finally gave up and decided to start new games across 4 different save files, 2 on the Switch 2 and the other 2 on the Switch 1.

I’ve made it to the Sevii Islands and remembered you don’t have to do the final four islands in order.

I went straight to island 7 and got myself Larvitar and Phanpy for my team, then went to island 5 to pick up a Metal Coat.

With Larvitar and Phanpy being such low levels, and I had 2 15 hour shifts back to back I thought I’d make use of the Rocket Hideout EXP grind, by leaving my Switch on over the course of the 2 shifts and the night between them both to get Larvitar and Phanpy up to level 60s.

But also evolved my Scyther into Scizor.

So now I’ve switched out a couple of Pokemon my post game team now consists of:

Bulbasaur
Lapras
Scizor
Dragonite
Phanpy
Larvitar

With Charizard and Nidoking taking a bit of a rest after carrying through the Elite Four.

Looking forward to finishing my shift later and then starting the story of the post game tomorrow morning!

Did you accomplished this because you had both a switch one and a switch two and you just traded between them?

So I finally got to recording 50 Pokémon in the Dex and got the Exp Share and Amulet Coin. Still need to collect the Item Finder. I also caught a Gastly that I’m training and planning on evolving into Gengar to take on Sabrina. Giovanni shouldn’t be a problem as I chose Bulbasaur and it knows Vine Whip, Razor Leaf, Leech Seed, and Poison Powder. I typically don’t run Poison Powder on my Pokémon but I figured this time I’d use it in conjunction with Leech Seed to help with the more difficult battles and it has proven quite useful. I also have a level 40 Alakazam that knows Psychic which is also quite useful. I just need to level up Charmeleon a tiny bit more in order for it to evolve into Charizard.

Indeed I do! It’s how I got Charmander onto the game as Bulbasaur was my starter.

I traded Charmander into LG to help me with Erika and to evolve Kadabra. I just started a throw away game and plan on starting a new save with Squirtle and trading it over to LG. The sacrificial Pokemon were just low level Weedle and early route Pokemon.

*edit* I am now at the Indigo Plateau. I need to level up Alakazam a bit more, get more Revives and Hyper Potions, and level up a few more Pokémon. I currently have 62 Pokémon registered in the Dex so I will be able to get the NationayDex once I become Champion. I used my Master Ball on Zapdos which is fine as I was planning on trading another Master Ball for Mewtwo from FR at some point. At Celadon Game Corner, I spent an hour on the machine to get enough Coins for Thunderbolt and immediately taught it to Zapdos.
