Funniest things you've seen new gamers do?

What are the funniest/saddest thing you've ever seen new gamers do? One time, there were all these little kids(probably between the ages of five and seven, if I were to have to guess their ages), and they were playing Ocarina of Time. They played it for 45 minutes, and the only thing they accomplished was finding the Kokiri Sword. They couldn't even find the shield. Also, they died a few times due to the boulders in the area where you find the sword.
I know I shouldn't laugh at little kids trying to play a video game, but it was kinda funny.

Another time a friend of mine was playing Super Mario 3 and she kept dying at the very first goomba(I think it was around 25 deaths). She was the same age as me.

Another time I was trying to teach my dad how to play Mario Tennis for the Nintendo 64, and he couldn't even do a simple power up shot.

This is about me when i was little but looking back i can laugh at it now, it's pretty simple, on pokemon yellow it took me two days to get through veridian forest, when i finally finished my pikachu was level 30 something :L

I don't laugh at new gamers because it's stupid and condescending to do so, not to mention you were once exactly the same way.

Watching my friend attempt to play the original Super Mario Bros. Seriously, is it that hard to figure out you can stop your momentum by tapping back on the D-Pad?

In blue. I used like 2 hours figuring out about that Oak's parcel thing. Instead I was looking around after a Koffing I thought I was supposed to give to that old guy.

Way to be a jackass for no reason. We know we were like that once. We also see people do extremely stupid stuff. Doesn't mean we can't laugh.

Could you explain this? I don't follow.

On topic: My nephew can't seem to understand the concept of non motion controlled games. He tried to turn every controller if he's playing a racing game, N64, GC, Genesis, you name it.

in battlefield bad company you see newbies everyday and everyday there goes something wrong wether it's a n00b that manages to crash the heli directly on the entire team after take-off or wether it's the teamies that squabble with eachother because someone accedently did a teamkill.

anyway, i can remember that i was a sniper and that i managed to sneak pas the enemy lines to shoot the oppontents in the back while they were assaulting our territory, some idiot sniper on my team saw me in the house and killed me with a headshot, the russian snipersuits and the american snipersuits are so different from eachother and add the fact that you can recognise teammembers by a simle blue color when you aim on them. it was most annoying to witness that after al the hard work getting there without being spotted.

there are funny things sometimes though, some opponents in a tank can easely be annoyed, when a tank deals damage it has to be repaired which forces the driver to get out and fix it with the tools, i sometimes take the oppertunity to steal a enemy tank when the opponent is in the process of repairing it and then have a little chase for the heck of it.

Every time my friend plays a racing game (excluding Mario Kart Wi) she turns the controller and I'm like "You don't have to turn the controller."

Anyway in Yellow it took me ages to figure how to beat Brock. I never knew a Male Nidoran could learn Double Kick at the time.

I was about 8/9 (not too long ago), but this was my first time playing Pokemon Yellow.

Myself on pokemon red when I first got it; took me half an hour to work out how to get out of my house :D.

It was my first ever game.

Haha I remember when I was playing Red for the first time as well, I went into that dark cave without knowing anything about flash and I got lost, I remember I tried to beat the cave in the dark so many times that when I finally learned about flash and went into it with light, I could roughly tell where the walls were.

I let my little cousins to play the 2 player mode of Punch Out!! for the Wii and they didn't know how to dodge and doing uppercuts. They also think the opponents I faced are them as player 2.

Watching my younger sister spend an hour trying to get past the "footprints guy" in Oldale Town in Sapphire. She didn't understand why he wouldn't move. :/

When I was about 7 I went into a crying fit when I couldn't figure out why I couldn't do damage to Robotnik at the end of Carnival Zone in Sonic 2. I kept jumping into the electrical charge at the bottom.

My cousin tilts her body and twists the controller completely vertical from side side when playing racing games.

My little friend who is about 14 or 15 whom I try to teach to play LoZ games.

It's hard work becuse he can't really work out how to defeat enemys and bosses so I have to give him hints of how to do it. He is really good however (he managed to defeat Morfeo first time without getting hit, unlike me) .

It's quite funny to see his reation when he sees dangerures looking bosses, when I showed him the tralier for the new LoZ:Spirit tracks and got up to one of the bosses and he said: "Is that the final boss?"

It seemed quite funny at the time, but of course I knew what he really ment.

Actually, I have something I myself did, and it likely falls under both funny and sad. =DD=

While not being new to gaming at all, back when I was 16, I had never played Halo before, and my younger cousin (yes it does get worse before it even begins) suggested that I play it with him. So I obliged, and he hooked it up to play online I guess. He was wearing a headset (I was not) and was talking on and off with the other players while I myself simply attempted to figure out the controls.

A few minutes into the "fun", shots rang-out in-game, and I found myself accidentally running my character directly into the oncoming enemy fire. Yeah...

Not only was my cousin laughing his head off, so were the voices at the other end of the headset. :D

I got ****ing sick of catching enough Pokemon to even get Flash, so I learned how to go through Rock Tunnel blind, while avoiding as much as possible.

For the topic, OCD. My mom always has to break every brick possible in SMB before moving on, time be damned.

oh i entirely forgot to mention this one. about a year ago while playing call of duty 4 online i was searching for cagematches, suddenly some kid connected who had a headset and started yelling:

mooom!, no! stop it, please don't!

and then he suddenly left, i searched for another match and then the same kid connected again this time yelling:

stop it! no, don't do...

and then he was gone again but this time he didn't came back. apparently that kid was a little addicted to getting hypnotised by his TV and he had a mother that wanted him to stop, they were fighting over the controller or something, i have no idea.

This started out being funny, then ended up being sad. My little sister got Pearl and played through but she only trained her starter, which was around level 70 by the E4. I tried to tell her how wrong she was, and battled her to show her this. Her Empoleon 6-0 my all level 70 Ev'd team. I nearly cried.
