If I look backwards; I’ll frown upon what I’ve said
And tomorrow I’ll frown upon what I say today.
I fear the Hell I know I’ve created.
I hate the loath I fear I’ve kindled with the words I say
Is it part of our nature to demonize those we hate
Some sort of temptation to control what is around us?
We can’t say we don’t regret anything at all
We remember sometimes in the day’s dull rush
Apologies mean little when nothing is meant
Love is a mask we wear as justification
For the crimes we commit against others
And what we fear most, hate, is our creation
Is there no way I can see what’s before me?
Is there no way I can undo my crimes?
I face the wind so confidently;
But the pose is but another sign that I don’t know what to do
And tomorrow I’ll frown upon what I say today.
I face the wind so confidently;
But the pose is but another sign that I don’t know what to do
