Noob question even though i've been playing for years... i picked up my crystal after a lengthy delay (due to fire red) and was wondering when can you trade back to the older versions? it still tells me there is a problem with the time capsule, i just beat morty to get my 4th badge...

Go to the Pokemon Center after defeating Morty, I believe.

Otherwise, there's something wrong.

Specifically, go to the Ecruteak City Pokemon Center.

Bill will appear and you can talk to him. After that, wait until the next day, and you'll be able to use the Time Capsule.

If it still doesn't work after that, you're probably using a GBA link cable. Make sure you're using the kind made for GBC games.

When I try to trade between gold and yellow on my gbas, the game on the gray end says the other isn't ready. both are beaten and my link cable works fine.

What link cable are you using? If it has a purple end and a gray end, you're using a GBA link cable. You need to have an older GBC cable to link GBC games, even if they're on a GBA.

Remember, a GBA can play GBC games, so it can link them, as well.

first enter pokemon centre. (bill always appears for me)
battle kimono girls and gain surf.
go to burnt tower. battle rival, collect items, pokemon.
battle morty after healing from burnt tower.


thats what i do in gold.

try making your pokemon learn RBY TM's like body slam and ice beam. (classic)
