Galarian Star Tournament - "Local" Multiplayer Option?

One of my favorite aspects of Pokemon was the endgame Battle Tower (or similar facility). I have friends who I teamed up with for local multiplayer battles for hours of fun. Even the last gen US/UM Battle Tree allowed this option (I rarely used AI, and battled with friends) Sw/Sh was slightly disappointing because I could not understand why this was not an option for their Battle Tower.

Currently, in Sw/Sh the only way to "team up" with a friend via local wireless (or online) is Max Raid Battles, which we do but it's a very different battle experience. To my question, is there any indication that the Galarian Star Tournament will include the classic local multiplayer option, in addition to AI like previous gens? I've already read many articles and have not seen an indication of it being an option, but often it was just included for multiplayer battles and just not really advertised. Would anyone know why this would be omitted for something like the Galarian Star Tournament (like is it not a well-used feature, difficult to program into a game, etc.)? Thank you!

While I'd like to see that as an option, what we know is, well, what's been revealed. Game Freak has been VERY tight-lipped this generation in terms of pre-release information. Even accounting for data-mining, the only way to know for sure is to wait for Crown Tundra to become available and play up to that point (possibly past that if co-op play between players has to be unlocked).

Bear in mind, though, that Multi Battles, battles in which you and another human player go up against two other human players, was removed as of Generation VII, alongside the removal of triple battles and rotation battles.

In Gen VII (S/M + US/UM) You could indeed do local multiplayer at the Battle Tree with a nearby friend, and triple/rotation battles were removed Gen V (B/W + B2/W2) onward (That was the only Gen you could do those anyway).

Gen VI (X/Y) you could also do local multiplayer with a nearby friend at the Battle Maison. It was only recently removed with the Battle Tower in Gen VIII's Sw/Sh.

Huh, I guess I had it mixed up then. I don't really do any Multi Battles or anything of the sort, since I don't have anyone offline to play with. Could've sworn I had a triple battle and rotation battle team for Generation VI though.
