Game of the Gods

Kawaii Kyuubi Kitsune

Kawai Nogitsune
Game of the Gods
White. That was all there was in all direction. But there in the middle of it all was a table. The legs touched nothing as there was nothing to touch. Upon its surface appeared to be a map, though the detail was beyond possibility and clouds actually floated across it. It was not the world, yet at the same time it was. It was a table on which the gods played their games with mortals, competing against each other in whatever they thought would be fun at the time. Yes, a table, not the table: there were more like it in other such infinite expanses of whiteness.

Having no distractions was important.

A shadow appeared, growing out of nothingness and stood at one end of the table and waited. It did not have to wait for long, merely a few seconds, before two white figures appeared. They looked to be large white foxes, both looking a little uncomfortable with nothing beneath their feet. They glared at the shadow at the other end of the table as it spontaneously started to become more solid and real.

“You two were destined to come here and try to cheat for you master. Rig the game.” The shadow spoke as it became a human in a black robe, orange eyes and long white hair. “Mere messengers of Inari could hardly cheat any decent deity of a fair game, much less Fate himself. Being Fate, of course, means I have to forgive you since it is also my fault for giving you the destiny of trying such a thing.”

“One can not cheat Fate is something we understand.” The two foxes spoke in unison, though only being able to talk at all due to the natural of the place around the table. “Yet, it can hardly be said we were planning to cheat you. Fate never loses at these games, we were to cheat everyone else. One cannot cheat Fate, but do you not cheat to make that the case?”

Fate smiled as the two foxes faded away. Winning was too easy to be fun, it was impossible for it not to be rigged in his favor. Watching other deities play while being forced to play by the rules was a different story. It had been a while since a decent game had happened, it was a boring time to be a god, one needed complications caused by non-gods for any real fun to be had. But this would be the a good game because things were about to change...

~*~

The tavern was rather empty. Rare but not unheard of. On the edge of a small forest, while being technically in the middle of nowhere, this place seemed to usually attract far more travelers than one would expect. The basic log cabin look, with the large magic sign showing the letters of 'The Lost Bar of Destiny' glowing in bright green. Those who arrived were always traveling for a reason beyond going somewhere new. It was usually a place where heroes and villains alike were rumored to gather with tales of their travels that seemed to help each other find what they were looking for.

No one ever found there way there by map, they just always stumbled there by accident and then took tales of it far and wide. One had to be fated to fall in the door, many spent years trying to find the place only to fail in the past.

Only a few were there tonight, none had tried to talk to anyone else as of yet. Best to wait till the bartender returned with the beer before start a conversation. The walls of oak logs were undecorated, so it was a boring wait. A boring wait in almost completely boring times. For a hundred years nothing much had happened in the world, no hordes of undead revenging the country side, no conflicts between kingdoms or even orcs... it was a golden age that was coming to an end.

In the past 15 years things started to change, a few minor disappearances, sightings of strange things, ordinary supernatural beings causing trouble, and the occasional emergence of old grudges. Nothing compared to what it was like before the golden age began, but still noticeable compared to how things were. Few took much notice, no reason to panic when it didn't effect you. Most people who were effected just complained to their kings to no result, though a few did set out to sort things out. Most of them vanished never to be seen again.

Cracks began to form in the wine cellar's floor, a orange glow came from beneath them. A burst of flames came up from between the cracks, and left scorch marks on a nearby barrel of beer. It wouldn't be long before something caught fire. The bartender did go down into the cellar merely a few minutes, yet he never exited through the one door and was no longer there... Maybe it had something to do with him being called Mr Destiny, though that was assumed to be a joke...

~*~

“Now the rules are simple” Fate called out to the other deities that surrounded the table, with them finally having all arrived... even though they almost all arrived perfectly on time. “There is a group of 'mortals' gathered in a bar, always a good place to start them on the way to their destiny. They are whom this will center on. The rules are the usual: No acting out side your domains; No manifesting yourself in the mortal realm, even in dreams, relating at all to do with this game; If you act within your domain and it over laps with another deities domains, then if they complain to me I'll set up a penalty... say being able to trespass in your domains for a little more than you have unjustly done to them or some other penalty if they ask for something else. Finally, if any of the mortals currently in the bar happens to die, then which ever deities here is at fault, if any happen to be, will get a point penalty”

“The goal on the other hand...” Fate let out a laugh, “Well, those are probably complex. Each one of you has a different goal of your choosing that only you and I know about. Something that relates to the mortals in the bar in someway... something that is impossible to completely finish but can be seen that you are getting close to. Something I can give points for so as to mark who is winning. The easier it should have been to archive the less points I will award.”

“So basically we're meant to make alliances to give an easier position for us to manipulate the mortals from, while always being ready to back stab each other so as we're the only one getting points.” Inari spoke, being in the form of a black haired human girl with emerald green eyes, with a white robe on. “While you've basically getting unlimited points for both being the judge that gives points and that this group of mortals has already been give a great destiny that they'll achieve for you.”

“...” Fate smile faded, “Well, yes, but no violence here against each other please, blood is impossible to get out of the board. Refreshments will arrive shortly, so let the game begin... Second place is still possible for everyone.”

Important:
*This RPG is in a medieval fantasy setting. Probably heroic fantasy, but it depends mainly on the characters which way the plot twists from here. The entire plot will be based around character goals.
*This RPG needs Deity and 'mortal' characters. Though you may make two characters, and have a mortal and deity character, or just have one character, I advise against just playing a deity.
*I reserve the right to reject any character for whatever reason. However I will explain my reasoning if I do so.
*Any character details you do not want other players to know about you should PM to me instead of posting them.
*A few details are not compulsory to complete for deities, as deities are technically only secondary characters plus some details would be impossible to completely define.
*The goal of this RPG is to have fun, not win the game of the gods. Winning while not ruining everyone else's fun is acceptable though, but rather impossible.
*Bunnying may be acceptable in some circumstances, but NEVER bunny a deity's powers.
*Please make deities from any actual religion if possible, preferable a ancient one.

Sign Up Form
Name: (Make this appropriate. If you intend your character to be using a fake name, then please PM the real name to me for purposes of possible plot hook use)
Gender: (If applicable)
Species: (Human or any type of animal or almost any mythical creature is acceptable for mortal character. For deities they must suit their domains but if it fits then I'll almost certainly accept anything, if they even have a set species to be)
Strengths: (Mortals only: Every being has things that they are good at, things that put them above others. These should include all magical skills, extraordinary and supernatural abilities. Any that are not normal for your character's species will need to be explained in you character's history.)
Weaknesses: (Mortals only: For every advantage someone has, they always still have flaws that can bring them down. This goes beyond, but still includes, things like 'vampires hate sunlight', as personality flaws and old injuries that hinder the person in some way are important. The more powerful a character is the more/more serious weaknesses they must have)
Description: (A full description of the character and their equipment)
Personality: (Description on how the character reacts. You do not have to repeat details that you've also put under weaknesses)
Domains: (Deity characters only: Every deity has a small list of domains of which they have power over, being able to manipulate the mortal realm in regards to the domains. Some domains are very limited in use, others are rather broad in use, but all of them are important. I would prefer if people chose ones that would be a challenge to use effectively, though it is not required)
History: (Every character has a past of some sort, though it would probably be best to skip this for deities. For 'mortal' characters you should at the very least give a basic idea of the character's past.)
Goals/Motivation: (Everyone has a goal that drives them, something they set out to archive. The mortal characters may have something basic, though most likely they have a more specific goal like revenge, or something else that would drive them to achieve something great, especially since the goals will greatly effect the plot. The deities must have something grand and nigh impossible to fully archive as their goal for the game of the gods. It is advised that the goals of a deity are PMed to me instead of being posted, so to keep such a major thing secret as long as possible)
Other: (I know at least one person will think of something to put in this section)

Sample RPG: (Either write a short piece on a major part of your character's history (At the same sort of quality and quantity as you would normally post... thus it'll be unlikely that you'd be able to do the whole event), link me to another RPG you were in, or give me a good reason why I should not care about your skill at RPGing)

Info on what I will be doing in this RPG:
As usual I will be playing normal characters as well as handling events and plot (At least the part of that that isn't created directly by deities of other players). I will be using Fate, though he is likely to do very little, as well as two other characters which will have their details updated as more is found out about them in the RPG

Name: Quoward
Gender: Male
Species: Not human.
Strengths: Unknown at this point
Weaknesses: Unknown at this point
Description: It is hard to tell whether his straight soft shoulder length hair is silver with black streaks or black with silver streaks, but in reality a close look would reveal no single hair is completely either of the colors. Pale skin, almost grey, would be the most unpleasant feature of him. His emerald green eyes had a sharpness that looked to be able to pierce the soul, while seeming to be the only color on him. The way his face was more triangular than the average human wasn't too much of a problem. His taste in clothing on the other hand was a bit different, all that is on him is a simple black robe... that seems to have two laers, the outer one stopping slightly below waist hight, and the inner one going all the way down to the floor.
Personality: Unknown at this point
History: Unknown at this point
Goals/Motivation: Unknown at this point

Name: Inari

Description: Limited.
Personality: So far only willingness to cheat has been shown in Inari's personality.
Domains: Rice, fertility, and foxes

Sounds interesting and I've been waiting for a good sounding RPG for awhile. Hope this sign up is good enough.

Name: Angroth Von Krieg
Age: 23
Gender: Male
Species: Human

Strengths: Above average physical strength, knowledge of combat skills, strong determination to win and a will of steel.

Weakness: Rushes into danger without thinking, below average speed, doesn't plan things out, lust that can cloud his judgement and protects others.

Description: He is 6' 7" tall with a abit of muscle on him and a large build with normal skin colour. He has jet black spiky hair that sticks up because of a dark blue bandana with a wave pattern keeping it there and sapphire blue eyes. He wears a plain blue t-shirt underneath a metal breastplate and along his arms are bandages wrapped around them. On his right shoulder is a a rectangular piece of armor and on his left arm is a black dragon tattoo that goes from the elbow to the shoulder. He wheres chainmail that dangles from his leather belt with a tigerhead buckle and wears another piece of armor on his left kneecap. He wears black pants and grey boots with a small bit of metal on the end of them. On his hands he wears a pair of gauntlets which have runes inscribed on them.

He carries a small halberd in each hand with bandges wrapped round the shaft to get a better grip. The metal is nearly fullt black in colour with a blue spiral on each side of the axe like head of both.

Personality: Angroth loves the thrill of battle, the very feeling of conflict soothes him and is happiest when fighting. He is a very determined person who will fight to the end and will never be the first one to give up on anything. When socialising he likes to make cracks and sarcastic comments to make himself laugh and feel abit better but also to get spirits up. He has a great respect for an employer and will protect them at his own costs - he does this usually for the challenge of a harder fight. Although not the most social, he still enjoys the company of friends, except when they get in his way when fighting.

History: Angroth was born in one of the quiet villages up north where it was snowy all year round. Even then, the villagers quietness bored him and learn't to fight at a young age to keep himself occupied. When he could read he studied up on battle skills and techinques and challenged anyone he thought worthy enough to fight him. When he was old enough to leave, he was not able to find anyone to satisfy him with a good fight and left in search of an opponent that could make him stronger. While in the wilderness he would train his body and mind and during his stays in town, sold himself out as a mercenary. To this day he continues to fight to improve himself and make himself stronger.

Goals/Motivation: His one goal is to become the greatest and strongest fighter in the world. He will go through anything or anyonwe to achieve it.

Other: N/A

RPG Sample: From the RPG, Living Dreams

They rushed in, Sora's fears higher than ever. The place was in utter chaos. Glass was smashed and concrete ripped from the ground. The colour red was everywhere, spilt on the floor, smeared on the walls and over the upper balcony and ledge. It was horrific. Aurora moved Sora behind her.

"Stay close. I don't want you to get hurt." asked Aurora. Sora nodded without hesitation. A thing leaped from the upper balcony and onto the floor int front of them. Claws raised, fangs bared and eyes focused on Sora. Aurora glared at it. Feeling for moisture, she focused it and threw a long sharp icicle at the creature. It screeched as its shoulder was cut, blue blood dripping. It went for Aurora, trying anything to get at her flesh. It just cut her shoulder sleeve. Aurora back flipped in the air and gathered moisture. She threw two compacted balls of ice at its eyes. it comforted them as the ice stung them. While it was distracted, Aurora created a long spear of ice and impaled it against the wall. The creature gurgled and spewed blue blood from its mouth before it lay limp. For moment it lay impaled on the wall before it disintergrated into black dust.

Another one went for Aurora, this one born aloft on ripped wings. This time she was ready and as it hit the floor to get at her, she put her hand on its forehead. It instantly froze around her hand, becoming completely imbeded in ice. Aurora smiled at her work. She raised her leg and brought it down on the ice sculpture creature. It shattered into a thousand shards, balck dust disappearing from within the remaning shards. Sora gasped at the incident.

"W-what are they?" she asked. Aurora looked back and shook her head.

"I have no idea but I think their the cause of this problem. Lets see if theres any survivers." suggested Aurora. Sora nodded nervously. She would rather say no but she doubted her rebelious partner would agree with her.

Shadows Follower: Nice sign up, a bit stereotypical but the use of halberds more than makes up for that. Protecting others isn't really a strength, I mean it'll more often put your character in danger than help you get out (Yes, it is more of a weakness than a strength). Great character overall, accepted.

Heheh, I see what you mean but maybe the reason he;s stereotype is the reason I like it - nothing like a strong warrior to carve through opponents! I've changed that protection thing and thanks for letting me join.

GoGoTenda

I Eat Zapdos' Eggs
Name: Jolel
Gender: Male
Species: Human
Strengths: Jolel is a master of deceptive combat, often using misdirection or a front of weakness/inability to his advantage. Despite his odd nature, he’s also fairly charismatic and adept keeping his relationships with most everyone on the positive end.

Weaknesses: Jolel has difficulty retaining focus, getting bored often and tending to thus get into trouble. He also has a tendency to flit from one thing to the next with little to no direction in any aspect of his life.

Description: Jolel appears to be 16 years of age, though he's prone to acting far younger and far older. He stands near five foot, seven inches and weighs approximately 120 pounds. His hair is a very pale blue; lighter than the sky. Both of Jolel's eyes are gray with a subtle layer of blue. His face is obviously still in the transition from child to adult, losing its former roundness in favor of a longer, narrower appearance. Jolel's complexion is fair, paler than average while not being unhealthy or unattractive. He has a slight build, which he defends by saying "It's all muscle", a more or less true statement. Jolel is prides himself on his looks, taking great care to look his best.

Jolel always dresses in shades of blue, choosing to go naked rather than wear a different color. Not that that's a problem, of course; he rather likes being nude. On a normal day, Jolel dons a long sleeved, powder blue tunic and a pair of baggy, deep blue slacks. Unless he has to go out, Jolel prefers to not wear shoes or socks of any kind. Thus, his feet tend to be slightly dusty from walking around barefoot near constantly.

Personality: Typically, Jolel will act carefree and happy to be alive. He enjoys smiling and laughing despite the situation, which has gotten him in several serious fights and on more than a few bad sides. Often, Jolel will appear to be completely in his own world without the faintest idea of what's going on around him. The immature facade is mostly to have fun with strangers, as Jolel is perfectly capable of being serious (he merely prefers to do so only around those that he knows well). Jolel could also be described as a flirt, both while acting and while being his real self. He transcends the stereotype, however: he's no stranger to hitting on men as well as on women. Such remarks or actions are entirely good-natured, even odd signs of affection towards those he grows close to. In the end, the Jolel's whole mindset could aptly be concisely described as "weird" if not “crazy”.

History: Jolel was born in a small, coastal village where he was raised by two loving parents and an elder sister. It was a poor village, however, and Jolel was required to work in order to keep the family afloat. Early in life, he helped his mother with housework, but as he grew older, he began to work for his father on a fishing vessel. This is when he first displayed signs of attention deficit, being hard-pressed to actually finish any job he was assigned. Though his family loved him dearly, they (and him) realized that his continued drain on family resources would most likely cause them to collapse into economic disparity. Promising to return often, Jolel set out to forge his own path, an idea which suited him just fine.

Goals/Motivation: Jolel’s main goals are to keep surviving and do whatever he pleases, but the back of his mind tells him to make money for his family. He usually ignores logic to do what he wants, though.

Other: Jolel has a few minor idiosyncrasies, such as his habitual use of ‘yes?’ to end statements. None of them are huge, but definitely noticeable and occasionally annoying.

Name: Eros
Gender: Male
Species: Deity – assumes human form

Description: Eros tends to appear as a teenage boy with fair complexion and blonde hair. His eyes are blue and contain the spark of mischief. His body is fairly well toned, as is common for gods in human form. The lower region of his body is covered in folds of white cloth, with a sash continuing off of it that loops around his shoulder and holds the whole piece up. Eros’ legs and arms are typically bare and his feet covered only by brown, leather sandals. A laurel rests upon his head and a pair of pure white, feathered wings sprouts from his back. Eros carries a quiver full of arrows; half of them gold and half of them black. An ornate bow is slung across his shoulder and a smile across his face.

Personality: Eros is a lover of trouble. He enjoys creating problems and then watching those affected panic and try to solve them. Occasionally, he’ll go as far as to let them almost solve the problem before compounding it with another. Additionally, Eros is fond of lodging desire-inducing arrows in the hearts of anyone he can get close too. Though he likes to create and watch mischief, he reacts poorly whenever his own normalcy is interrupted. He’s no strangers to tantrums and long periods of pouting whenever control shifts to anyone else. This makes him appear as childish as he actually is, but calling him childish is a surefire way to get on his bad side, which is a very grim place to be.

Domains: Love, specializing in lust, sex, and desire. Minor fertility deity as well.

History: N/A
Goals/Motivation:
Other: N/A

Sample: I love you? Oh, and you said I didn't have to. =D

Memories in the Rain
Sign-Up... Megasized

Sign Up Form: Deity

Name: Fentagon

Gender: Genderless, but Fentagon prefers to be called a ‘he’

Species: White Tiger

Strengths: Super-fast speed, Quick reflexes… basically everything to do with the wind and air, even magic… wait, you don’t need it?

Weaknesses: …it’s for mortals only

Description: Fentagon's something you might call a Weretiger at first glance. Big, tall and muscular, being 10 1/2 feet long and 3 1/2 feet tall, Fentagon is not one to be trifled with. He has emerald green eyes like many tigers humans see, but his fur is snowy white with black stripes all over. Long, translucent green claws come from his two front paws, and his back is jutted out with a line of spines that grows smaller in size as it runs down his back. His legs are strong and lean with three thick white claws at each paw, allowing Fentagon to run for long distances without tiring. His joints have yellow blades attached to them, in order to protect those vulnerable spots from unfriendly attacks.

Personality: Fentagon's actually a very kind soul, outgoing and sometimes rash, despite his fearsome looks. Actually, Fentagon's a carefree thing who mainly loves to kick back, relax, and enjoy the clouds floating in the sky, or the stars twinkling in the midnight sky. A practical joker, he's the center of attention whenever the spirit craves for it and able to ease almost anyone's nerves, but sometimes he talks without thinking twice, and that does get him into a tangle from time to time. But this fellow values friendship from the bottom of his heart, although he can't display it well.

Domains: Deity of Wind and all Beasts (AKA Animals)

History: -NiL-

Goals/Motivation: I told ya already Kyuubi. Write it down.

Other: Sorry to disappoint you here, Kyuubi XD

Sign Up Form: Mortal…?

Name: Lucifer Leonheart

Age: 113… technically

Gender: Male

Species: Vampire, Median, Nosferatu etc. etc. [From the Lasombra tribe, mind]

Strengths: The standard vampire abilities: Monstrous Strength, Lightning Speed, Shadow Manulipation [Lucifer’s fave] etc. Does not include instant teleportation, ghoul summoning for its sold separately XD

Weaknesses: Sunlight [An instant killer], not to mention being cursed to be unable to drink someone's blood without their permission

Description: Residing in his original 15-year-old self, Lucifer is about 1.7 meters tall, making him rather noticeable, especially with his messy, flaming red hair and a streak falling over his face. His eyes are a bright piercing red in color, with a scar cutting downwards from his right eye. He wears a short-sleeved blood-red coat with maroon collars, a pair of black jeans and gray beach sandals with dark maroon straps and stripes. He also wears a pair of fingerless, black leather gloves. Most noticeable, however, is the charm he wears over his neck -gold with a golden crafted 'L' hanging from it.

His weapon of choice is a dagger with a lightning-bolt blade. It’s simple, but deadly with the addition of Lucifer’s strength. A strap of blood-red cloth is tied to the oaken carved handle.

Personality: Calm, Carefree, Happy-go-lucky, Sarcastic at times but a practical joker. Serious (not to mention frightening) in battles but values companionship deep inside, and never forgives those who intentionally hurt the people he considers important in his life (or unlife). However, he has his own emotional moments as well.

…Okay, that was brief…

Lucifer is a very carefree person, hardly losing his cool on any situation. He cracks jokes on every sticky situation he’s in, and even resorts to trickery to escape. Lucifer never wants to be in the center of attention, but somehow he always winds up there due to his smart mouth, which does get himself into trouble from time to time. Of course, there are many who don’t really appreciate his jokes. The boy is also sarcastic at times, and his words can even drive a person to desperation and annoyance!

Domains: -NiL-

History: I’ll work on it later.

Goals/Motivation: To find a cure for Vampire’s weakness to sunlight

Other: Disappointed… again. O_O

Sign Up Form: Familiar

Name: Lucied

Gender: Genderless, but Lucied calls himself a ‘he’

Species: Shadow Wolf

Strengths: Lightning Speed, Monstrous Strength, Possession, Unable to die in sunlight, but is forced to change into a more… mobile form

Weaknesses: Blessed crufixes, crosses, chains… basically anything that’s already blessed.

His possession skill also has to happen during the night, coz' it requires a hell lot of energy. He can only stay for up to three hours in another’s body (except Lucifer) and takes about an hour for him to recover all that energy back. However, if Lucied ever goes beyond the time limit, he would be easily overpowered by the other’s mind, and be forever trapped within that person’s mind.

Description: Lucied usually looks about the size of a fully-grown tiger, with jet-black skin. Blood red stripes runs down the spikes growing out from the back of his head and the sides of his muscular paws. He also has a white tipped tufted tail. His eyes are also crimson red in color, but they glow very sinisterly during the night. His canines are dangerously sharp, able to instantly pierce through the hardest materials.

However, in the day, Lucied turns into a timber wolf with shining slivery fur. His eyes are still red, and his size is a tad bigger than the average timber wolf. His canines are still retained, but his other traits are weakened greatly under daylight.

Personality: Lucied’s an insane, down to earth monster that willingly accepts his identity as a monster. He attacks without hesitation, only following orders from Lucifer. His life basically revolves around a twisted mindset, regarding all in only three categories: Humans, Monsters and Dogs (lackeys). The wolf sole believes that he’s a monster, and that only humans will be the ones truly able to kill him, but dogs will never be able to.

Domains: -NiL-

History: Lucied actually never existed in the world. You could say the furthest he got was a figment of Lucifer’s imagination. However, that changed after Lucifer was sired into a vampire. Using the powers of darkness, the familiar was created and given to the boy, and they eventually became companions, in some twisted, demented way. Later on, the wolf was granted the power of telepathy and now is able to communicate with others through this power.

Goals/Motivation: Ironically, Lucied wishes to meet a person -a human- who would be able to truly kill him by their own hands. Until that times comes, Lucied only lives to kill –and to obey.

Other: Lucied takes control of Lucifer at times in dire situations. When combined, Lucifer goes berserk and loses his mind, going on a rampage. It can lasts as long as the wolf wants, but puts a lot of strain in Lucifer’s mind and body.

Sample RPG: Well, ya said I didn’t need it, Kyuubi, but then I just put it in for some fun. XD

The silence woke me up.

Groaning, I opened my eyes. Sunlight streamed into my eyes, making me wince. Sitting up, I looked around me. Withered grass surrounded me, with some weird black smudge thingy smeared over like butter over a hot waffle. But then I gasped, my eyes widening in surprise. The black smudge was actually alive! It was crawlin' all over the others, bulging here and there. Then I whipped my head around as I head an inhuman cry of an eagle.

Well, it was an eagle, but that only concerned its head and golden talons. Its body was like a lion's, but the tail ended in a fan of feathers; with crimson feathers surrounded by golden ones. Her head and crest feathers were a beautiful golden color with crimson colored ones that circled her eyes and ran down either sides of her neck and as they went down the head from the eyes the crimson pattern fanned out to surround her neck, only leaving a small streak of golden feathers at her throat, and blended into her crimson fur.

"Just what in the world is it?" I muttered, but then it gave out another eagle cry for help. I got up, and rushed to its rescue, never noticing that my legs were passing right through the black smudge, and also the fact that I was there in a millisecond...

I needed to get that black smudge off. Fast. I swiped my, err... paw. The first thing I noticed was that it looked translucent. The second thing was that my han- A-HEM, I mean, paw, went right through. Ooze and all.

"What the-" I started, but was cut short when the eagle-lion creature gave another piercing cry. "Alright! Alright! I'll help you!" I exclaimed, covering my sensitive tiger ears with my paws. I reached out again, but the result was still the same. I then bent down and tried to grab a pebble, but my long, green translucent claws just passed through. I looked at my paws in amazement.

"Just what the hell am I? I can't touch anything!" I exclaimed in disbelief. But then I noticed a skeleton from the corner of my eye. I rushed towards it, and begged it for help, but he didn't respond. I screamed, yelled, tried pounding his skull, but no response came. I couldn't believe it. I turned back towards the creature, still shrieking as the black ooze continued to devour it. But then a new force overwhelmed me.

It was a strong emotion, a feeling, a defiance to never perish, overcome death and continue existing. I glared at the ooze with hatred. I wanted it gone! I calmly walked up to the ooze, totally ignoring the creature's cry. Raising my right paw, I yelled out a single word,

"Brisingr!"

Instantly, my paw and claws glowed the whitest white; a split second later, tongues of flames erupted from it, engulfing my paw in a ball of flame. I gave a huge roar, and brought the paw down.

SHING!

What?! I hardly made a dent on that overgrown Jell-O! I thought in surprise, the black blob soon covered the glaring hole in its middle, and turned towards me, trying to make a meal of me, but it didn't work; it just went right through. I frowned and glared at the black slime. Nothing worked against it. That spell or whatever I used just now had already exhausted me much. Now I gave a low growl and circled it like a wolf would do as it tightened its grip on the creature.

Damn! Now what do I do...?

**I will be RPing two characters: one mortal and one deity. The deity's signup is below, but before I post the mortal's signup I need to verify if her species is OK. Nothing really special--just wondering if hybrids are OK for species, such as catpeople for example. Now for my first signup:
(I've wanted to RP this character for a long time!)
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Name: Maia
Gender: Female
Species: Angel?
Description: Maia's entire being seems to glow with a vibrant, angelic light. Her face is round and young-looking, and her eyes are a bright crimson. That same colour is in her hair, which is long and curly. Maia also wears a long yellow dress that flows into orange and has a shape similar to a kimono. Below that are little and usually unnoticed feet which have some sort of magenta shoe on them. Oh and also, on her back are a pair of golden wings that could have very well belonged to an eagle or dove once.
Personality: Saturnine best describes it. Maia is not the talkative sort, and she prefers to go with her own method of solving problems with little or no help from others. (Though sometimes she will cast her blessings directly on other deities, which from a mortal's perspective seems like two deities working together. In the RPG, she'll only do this to other random "filler" deities I may make up in the RPG, going with the bunnying rule.)
But she is also quite emotional, and she especially experiences either a silent depression or a sort of gentle, warming happiness. Unfortunately, it is that first emotion that is the most common for her. And when she wants to help someone, she won't do it immediately upon request from other deities, but rather back out of the request and fulfill it on her own later on.
Domains: Hope, health, truth, and inspiration (with the sub-domain of music), which altogether she generally calls "light".
History: Maia was actually born a mortal, sort of. (Even then, she had some significant divine properties.) Her father was Koria, a mortal man, and her mother was Mariola, the goddess of time. She was born out of the idea of light. However, Maia was also born with a certain curse of sorts--though no one was really sure what it was. As far as anyone knows, Maia was told by Mariola that she would come into conflict with an evil deity all her life. Mariola was pretty certain that this deity would at some point murder her, so thus she put something called a Unity Spell on her to prevent that. Under this spell, she could not be killed by this deity, but neither could she do anything to harm this deity, even if she had any power to do so.
For the most part, all her life Maia tried to stay away from this evil deity (who was Baros) or else come into some sort of argument or fight with him. Usually it was some outside event that triggered these conflicts, and it was usually Maia that presented the strongest arguments and Baros who delivered the deadliest blows. As more time passed by, Maia and Baros wanted more and more to get each other out of their way rather than try to change each other. Maia, especially, got sick of the conflict and wanted it to end.
Most of the events that sparked later arguments were tied to Satani, the leader of the land Maia lived in (and who also happened to be her cousin). It was either Baros who kept encouraging one person who he thought shared some of his beliefs to overthrow this leader (as one of his domains was jealousy), or Maia who occasionally tried to befriend this leader, that started these conflicts. But one person Baros tried to encourage (who was also Selenthe's mother) never really followed suit and instead moved elsewhere, taking on other plans. This frustrated Baros a bit, but he went on with his other plans as normal. Later on, for some unknown reason, Satani died, and no one really knew why she did--though many thought one of Baros's followers killed her.
Then there was Selenthe. Selenthe had acquired several magical skills from her mother that could grow too powerful should she turn evil. Maia, therefore, prevented that by putting a sort of "gentle" curse on her--but all it did was give Selenthe a profound weakness so she wouldn't have reason to feel too powerful. It was from this that Selenthe got her allergy to sunlight.
Then Maia turned to mortals in general. She feared that Baros would be at it again, toying with these mortals and causing massive conflicts among them. She then developed another goal--to to create respect among these mortals. To steer them away from the evil they may be tainted with, and to free them from jealousy. It was a goal to bring the mortals closer to harmony with each other.
Goals: Maia's first goal is obvious: to stop her conflicts with Baros. The second one is explained in the last paragraph of her history.
Other: Maia's sister Katami is now a deity who has the basic domain of "darkness", which mostly includes evil (or just conflict and pain), secrets, and the supernatural.
RPG Sample: I already put one for Selenthe, so that should give a perfect example of my RP style.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
**Who's Selenthe? She's the other character I will be playing in this RPG--the mortal.

Lady Myuu's Opposite
~~Mortal~~

Name: Alexhaur Shaded
Gender: Male
Species: Human
Strengths: Running away and staying alive. Also good with the bow, mediocre with the sword.
Weaknesses: Is extremely cowardly and can often find himself paralyzed with fear.
Description: Alexhaur is a short man for his age, 21, but he seems to be even smaller as he often hunches down in fear. His wears grey tattered robes with no decoration at all. Under the robes, he has a black silk shirt and a pair of black shorts (so that he can always run away if needed). His fingers are all covered in black rings that he has bought under the description that they protect the wearer. Three small bracelets on the right arm are for the same purpose. His shoes are sturdy, but newly-repaired, leathershoes that are made for two things; to fit Alexhaur perfectly and to run with. His eyes are dark brown and his neck-long white hair is covered by the hood of his robe. His weapons are strapped to the back, the quiver on the left shoulder, longbow on right and a short sword hanging from the waist.
Personality: Alexhaur is always nervous. He can jump at the mere sound of a breaking glass and has very worn nerves. He hates suprises and he is highly negative. He will predict his own death around four times a day, just to make sure he isn't dissapointed. He hates battles and if he absolutely have to fight, he'll hide and shoot at the enemy with his bow. He doesn't trust anybody, as he is completely obsessed with the idea of someone wanting him dead. He is always on guard and suspicious of everything. He likes travelling, or more exactly, to be anywhere else than exactly where he is, and has a good eye for places to hide.
History: Alexhaur was born in a quiet forest town that was oftenly raided by bandits, because of its loneliness. Actually 20 times a'year. The villagers were used to it and actually used this as a way to get information and money, from when they went to the half-destroyed tavern. Alexhaur was always frightened when the bandits came and was happy to go when he left the village at age of 18. To try to grab some money, he found himself on a mercenary team, which did some odd jobs. One day the king bought the mercenaries to fight a war. The whole team was slaughtered, except Alexhaur, who escaped. Since then, he has walked around aimlessly, his nerves being more and more worn and his wallet slowly emptying.
Goals/Motivation: To find somewhere quiet and peaceful, where he can mend his nerves. Preferably with a wife.

~~Deity~~

Name: Death. Or Bill Door.
Gender: Male
Species: Half skeleton, half demon.
Description: Not exactly one to call "high" but more "looming". He seems to radiate force and decay. He is built like a skeleton, with a never-decaying bone-structure. His eyes though, are blue balls of fire that seems to expand and retract like blinks and arching of eyebrows. Many people find this disturbing, but then they only see him once (see domain). The skeleton body is covered by a black robe which seems to be made of pure darkness, flaring around him like he was in an eternal wind. On his back hangs a dark-bladed scythe and hangin from his waist is a sword with a shining blue colour.
Personality: Death is an unpredictable fellow, with a deep philosophical nature and a work-addiction. He never breaks the rules and is known to always do what he is supposed to. He might seem naive at times, but few often point that out. He isn't much fond of The Game, as he has a feeling he will lose, but he can't resist the challenge. He has taken a liking in Alexhaur Shaded and is keeping him alive for fun.
Domains: All forms of death. Plagues, shipswrecks, fires and the like. But someone actually have to die in that event for him to be able to control it. He sometimes go get the dead souls himself, but that's not actually needed. It just takes a bit longer time if they go themselves.
Goals/Motivation: Awake the demon Bel-Shamharoth.

RPG Sample: From Final Fantasy: A Changed World.

Alexander looked at the snow outside and sighed. What a boring day. He had read all his books two times through and the weather was too unclear to go to the shooting grounds in the hall outside town.

He sighed again and settled down in a chair in front of a blazing fireplace. A book had dropped down beside the chair and Alexander picked it up. "The art of shooting," by a world champion in shooting. Alexander turned the first page and found a picture of a gun. It was one of the first guns ever made. It was grey and simple and the neccesary stuff to load it was placed around it.

Alexander dropped the book down on the floor again and started staring in the fire. Something shone in it. Alexander blinked. It was gone. "Strange..." he said. The flames started flickering, like some wind was blowing. Alexander looked around. No, the window was closed...but, what was that?! It seemed like a long beam of light, shining like a lighthouse right up. Alexander dropped down on the floor in and stared at it. Little by little, the light settled around him, easing him, relaxing him just before...it swallowed him. He fainted and all drifted away.

Alexander dozed. He was not awake, but he was trying to. "He's moving, kupo!" a voice said above him. "He's alive! Kupopo! Hey, Gareth, Meiyou, he's awake! Kupo!" Alexander blinked and opened his eyes just in time to see something brown swish out of a door. Door?

He was in a strange room of old, rotten tree. He was lying on a mat on the floor, a worn blanket underneath him. "Where...where am I? Kupopo?" he tried to say, but he stopped as this word came out of him. Kupo? It had felt so natural...

"You're in our base, little one." a rough voice rang out from the doorway. Alexander turned that way and saw a person, 'round 21, with bright purple clothes on in an arabic matter. Around his neck was long strips of purple cloth. "Lucky we found you." the person continued. "You were unconscious and a pack of Courls were out hunting, so you would've been eaten if we hadn't turned up." Alexander was speechless. Courls? Unconscious? Base?

"Uhm, thank you kupo." he said. The kupo followed. Suddenly he realized he was just in a thin leather shirt. "Where are my clothes, kupo?" Again. Strange. The man shrugged. "Dunno." he said, gazing around the room. "Bound to be here somewhere. The healer had to remove some clothes to check you had no wounds." Then, he smirked. "Don't worry, she didn't peek." Alexander turned a light shade of red. She? A girl?

"Here, Gareth." a silky voice said, approaching. Suddenly, a person appeared. Alexander had to use all his will to not gape. She had long rabbit ears and a light brown fur over all of her. She was covered in some white robes with a streak of golden here and there on the arms. In her arms was a bundle of clothes. "Normal Gunner-clothes, no hidden identity or anything." she said, proving herself to be the owner of the silk-voice. A green small furry creature appeared by her feet, smiling optimistically. Where was he?!

MORTAL.

Name: Derk “Ten-tale” Glinn

Gender: Male

Species: Human

Strengths: A brilliant talent for all things bard

Weaknesses: Cowardice in the face of danger (though he may try to hide it)

Description: Derk stands at 5’10, elegance and grace sewn into every inch. His golden hair sways freely at the bangs, and is tied into a neat ponytail that reaches down to his mid-back. A large hat is perched on his head, a feather stuck handsomely where the wide brims meet to form the raised center; brown orbs gleam from his eyes. He wears a red tunic with his family crest (a golden lute on the back of a ram) stitched onto it, with a shining black leather belt holding a few pouches as well as a hard buckskin holster filled with crossbow bolts angled for easy access. Simple wool breeches tuck neatly into brown boots, buckled with a golden clasp. Several small belts are tied around his shirt and pants, with throwing daggers slipped into holsters hanging from them. Concealed weapons tend to be quite useful.

A large brown coat provides warmth (and hides the daggers), filled with pockets holding various trinkets and items that aid his career as a bard. Inside each of the arm cuffs are several more throwing daggers for immediate deployment. The coat is often buttoned to a degree that allows Derk to slide a hand in and retrieve whatever he may require from under it while still hiding what it is he needs. A crossbow hangs loosely from the side of it; it would be simple to keep it concealed as well, but Derk keeps it in view to hopefully ward away anyone searching for a quick mug victim.

A magnificent lute is slung across his back, as well as a large case that holds a spectacular silver flute.

Personality: Derk is a womanizer. There’s no two ways about it. Mister “Ten-tale” uses his story-telling skills to, well, stretch the events of his life (and weave supposedly “True” stories) in an effort to make any girl he wants swoon over him…and it often works. Although he’s quite the lover of women, he’s no lover of battle, but can aptly defend himself if needed to. Juggling at his level is surprisingly similar to finding the perfect balance of throwing knives, if you catch my drift. He’ll sometimes have fun manipulating people of a stupider nature into playing out a certain action for his own amusement, but usually Derk keeps to himself and the women.

History: The Glinn family has been long-known in their homeland as makers of fine bards, fine leaders, and fine workers is other respects. Along with their moderate fortune, this has inspired their crest: the noble ram, who leads sheep and works as well, with a lute across his back. Derk will at times use his family’s prestigious name to get women or get himself out of trouble, but he prefers to keep his identity secret, hiding behind the name “Ten-tale.” Lately, he’s been milling mindlessly about, visiting random settlements, wooing the women for a night of pleasure, and then heading out again. After all, the mind of a twenty-two year old doesn’t have much else on it.

Goals/Motivation: To woo every pretty women he thinks is worth it.

Other: He’s, like, a bard.

DEITY.

Name: Baros

Gender: Male

Species: Penguin

Description: Baros is…well, Baros is a penguin. Yes. At a height of no more than three feet, its hard to see him as imposing or, needless to say, omnipotent in any way. But there you have it; it’s as the saying goes: maniacally powerful things with the destructive force of a thousand armies come in small packages. At his wish, the deity can take all his domains into account by manipulating his face, contorting it into two separate facades that represent jealously and depression. When assuming the jealously mask, Baros’ face appears melted and misshapen, with one eye hidden under folds of overlapping skin and the other wide and frightening. His beak twists into a gruesome scowl, and the face reeks of charred flesh, hissing smoke fleeing from the grisly visage. Under the veil of depression, his head becomes less shapely, with the cranium still in tact but the rest gaunt and shallow. Eyes dissolve to the shapes of teardrops, with a woe-some frown writhing across his beak.

Personality: Despite his varied…facial expressions, Baros is quite a cruel, haughty deity. Since mortals are inferior to him (a fact he keeps lodged in his mind) and his domains affect their very lifestyle, the penguin cannot resist toying with their emotions for his amusement and, in this case, gain. He rather dislikes battle, but is absolutely in love with the scenes that follow them, wherein he can play his domains to a brilliant scale.

Domains: Jealousy, Surprise, Depression.

Goals/Motivation: MYSTERY!

Other: Can I get a round a high-five here? My character’s a penguin! C’mon!

Sample: Uhh, look over there, behind you! Yoink! [/flee]

Kawaii Kyuubi Kitsune

Kiruria: Um... you might want to note that there will be no other deities interfering with the game other than those who are player characters, in fact apart from those participating there would only be those serving the refreshments in the game room. Plus the goal for a deity was meant to be their victory objective for the game, which is certainly not to do with a deity who isn't playing (Though it would be quite a good goal if it was referring to a deity played by another player).

I also have to comment on the style of your sample RPG, it seems to be almost pure dialog, hence gives the impression that you'd have trouble keeping up post quality when it comes to interacting with other deities in situations where bunnying would be nigh impossible to do successfully.

Allowing hybrids are questionable, as in mythology there are few cases of true hybrids being formed. It would depend mainly on the type of hybrid, though in most cases in mythology interspecies mating either doesn't result in children or it results in a being that looks entirely one species with merely a few unexpected supernatural abilities.

Your character is not accepted, though editing may convince me to change my mind.

Lemurian: Interesting mortal character, though you do need to expand the personality a bit if possible. The deity character shows that you are a fan of Terry Pratchett if I am not mistaken, though giving a deity a last name is sort of weird. You've misunderstood what I wanted from a deities goals, as I wanted what their goal (Victory condition) for the game would be, plus I didn't want it to a be a goal focused on your other character... Anyway, I don't think death will be a very easy domain to use, still I'm sure Fate will over look any time Bill manifests himself to someone after they are dead, relating to the game or otherwise as it won't make any difference.

In the past you've tried to sign up to all but one of my RPGs, so I'm probably going to be a little more lenient on you than other people, but you are still not accepted yet. If you show that you've understood what i have said here and make an attempt to improve your sign up then you will be accepted.

Dactylus: I am glad for once I am not playing a female character (At least one that is allow in sight of Derk), though I believe the “Ten-Tale” part is selling him a bit short. And I can see we've got an evil deity from you too, so i guess I have no choice but to accept you so as to avoid Baros' wraith...

All hail Baros!

OK... my first solution to that is to put Katami in the game as well, as that is Maia's rival as explained in her signup. If that's not possible, I guess Maia's rival could be either Baros or Death instead. If either of those are OK, I'll edit Maia's signup to include that.

Anyways, here's the signup for my mortal character... and I'll just not even bother by just simpliflying her species as much as possible. It used to be a mix of other things but now...
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Name: Selenthe Lemente
Gender: Female
Species: Catperson
Strengths: Due to cat characteristics, Selenthe can see as well at night as a human could in the day. As far as magic goes, Selenthe also has other dark powers--she can create a field of darkness (similar to an eclipse), drain energy from a victim (or their soul in some cases), and cast "shadow spells" that act much like curses.
Weaknesses: Quite unlike her species, Selenthe cannot run very fast, and she's not what you can call physically strong. (And with that, she can withstand little physical damage.) On top of that, Selenthe's biggest weakness is her strong allergy to sunlight--any tiny bit of exposure would immediately result in weakness and something similar to a sunburn. (This is why she wears all those concealing black clothes.) Also, she's not that good with social relations or teamwork.
Description: Selenthe stands about a meter-and-a-half tall. Her fur is mostly black but is white on the bottom part of her face, her tummy, and the end of her foxlike tail. That fur is fairly soft and long, especially on the back of her head so that it looks like long-ish black hair. Her paws and nose are black as well, but her eyes are a dark blue. To protect herself from the sun, she wears a a ragged black dress that completely covers her feet and paws, but just incase the dress is lifted, she also wears black boots that are flexible enough for catlike feet. She also wears black gloves, a black hat that has triangular protrusions to cover her ears, and an elegant tail cover made of black satin. She even keeps her face (except for her eyes) covered with a black scarf.
Selenthe also has a staff that looks very much like a javelin but is not used for fighting. It is black with flowing misty purple cloth tied around it like a ribbon, a dull, blood-red, spearlike point, and a bright sort of crystal ball embedded beneath the point. This signifies that this is more used for divination than anything else--it was made to show when signs of her mother are definite. Also, Selenthe rarely carries this around with her, except when she notices the orb on it glowing (when signs of her mother are definite).
Personality: Selenthe's personality really fits her name, which means "sea of silence". Much like the sea, she's a strong believer in fate, so much that she doesn't try to change it--rather lets it change her, hopefully for the better. She never really gets "filled" with any form of interest or excitement--in fact, if anything she's filled with an empty darkness inside. But she embraces this darkness as if it was meant to be. For example, her life has led her away from having any friends, but instead of being frustrated about being lonely, she embraces this loneliness and no longer reaches out for the light of friendship. Also, she tends to be so isolated from the rest of the world that she gets ignorant of change and important events. Timewise, she lives with the past, the only time she's familiar with, so many of her desires usually reflect upon "the good old days".
History: In her earliest time, Selenthe lived in another world. This world was one of little light, and one where magic was the key belief among the people. For the first few years, Selenthe lived there with her mother. Despite being a vampire, her mother showed a lot of care for Selenthe, and the two had much fun together. Selenthe also had an early friend named Nadine, who her mother looked after from time to time. Nadine was a great companion for Selenthe--he was almost like a brother to her.
However, Billy was at it again--she made plans to destroy this world where the Lemente family lived. Slowly, she succeeded, and since it was such an isolated place, pretty much everyone who lived there was doomed to die. But while the place dissolved, Maia--a half-deity of "light"--came to save some of the people trapped there. It turns out that the Lemente family were among those given the opportunity to be saved. Selenthe and Nadine were relieved--but Selenthe's mother was not. When Maia talked to the two kids (who were about ten years old then), Selenthe's mother was not there--for some largely unknown reason she must have chosen to stay behind.
Maia took the saved people to various towns--Selenthe and Nadine ended up in a village near the ocean. However, this saving act was Maia's last before she died (see Maia's signup), and this death of a half-deity of light brought a sort of curse (though the source of it could have been either Maia or... someone else), which caused Selenthe's allergy to sunlight and, much more unfortunately, Nadine's death. But to Selenthe this death was kind of fortunate, for Nadine had begun to grow a little "too fond of her". And later on, she was reminded of her mother, who often told her about supernatural forces, and the darker side of things, and that it can actually be wonderful to be alone. As time went by, Selenthe wondered more and more about where her mother was now, for she knew well that death is only a transition into another dimension. Deep down inside she wished that she could have known her mother better, been with her more... and she often strived to be a little bit more like her just because she was interested. This ties in with her rather simple goal...
Goal: To meet her mother again.
Other: Her father was a black cat--there, that cleared up the species issue.
RP Sample:
Nights were what Selenthe enjoyed most of all. On this particular one, she walked along the beach, calmed by the chirping of crickets and the gentle roar of the ocean waves. There seemed to be another sound in the atmosphere as well: the stars seemed to be singing, very faintly yet definitely and beautifully so. Physically, there was no sound coming from the heavens, but it could well be sensed, and the "sound" transcended the limits of what any physical source could produce. Music without the sound.
It sounds much like the wondrous latria, in all its spiritual beauty, Selenthe thought as she walked on. From the heavens it sings to me, a method of pure inspiration...
Selenthe remembered the time when her mother told her about the latria.
"It is a musical instrument," Mother used to say, "technically. In a way it is above all musical instruments, for it produces music without sound."
"Music without sound?" seven-year-old Selenthe questioned in awe. "And that's not impossible?"
"It is another one of those things that transcends the limits of the physical world," her mother continued. "The sound it produces is purely supernatural, and it brings not sound but rather an aura of music, a holy resonance of sorts. In its entirety it can be much more beautiful than any ordinary instrument."
Young Selenthe smiled. "Can you teach me how to play one?"
"I also forgot to mention," her mother said in a solemn tone, "that it is also the most difficult of all instruments to play. Its method seemed easy--you just stroke the surface lightly with the stick, or wand as it is often called. But only in a certain fateful moment does it produce that supernatural sound--it is one of the most beautiful sorts of inspirations you can ever imagine."
Selenthe's warmest emotions were strictly nocturnal. While they had no hope of awakening in the daytime, they were truly comforting at night. It was still a silent night--but oh so wonderfully so. Selenthe now turned to face the sea, where the waters reflected the moonlight which emanated from its above source. Moonlight didn't seem to bother Selenthe as sunlight did, probably due to a combination of the fact that it's reflected rather than direct, and the moon's significance to nighttime and often reference to darkness. In fact, if anything it seemed to have a slight healing effect.
Calm and free at last, Selenthe took off her hat and scarf, letting the soft breeze flow through her hair. All at once the latria of the night played louder, becoming more pronounced in this atmosphere of remembrance, this dark yet welcoming silence. Selenthe knew this wonderful night would not last forever, but for now she would just enjoy it for the time that it would last, the time before that ominous blue glow pierced the eastern sky. Yes, so long as it lasted, all was fine.
Lady Myuu's Opposite
There. Personality has been expanded and Death's goal has been switched into something a bit more interesting and fitting.
Kawaii Kyuubi Kitsune
Kawai Nogitsune
Kiruria: No, you may not put Katami in this RPG as well, I find character conflicts between characters belonging to the same player tend to isolate the characters from everyone else if it becomes too major a conflict. I'd suggest you have Baros as a rival over Death, as Death is already at a big enough disadvantage, though I'd have to point out that Eros and Inari are probably both more chaotic evil than Baros, at least according to previous RPGs involving them. Choose carefully, or do something simpler like aiming to convert the group of 'mortals' into bringers of hope to all they meet.
As for Selenthe... Well, half animal/half human doesn't really work in my game setting, as cat/human mating doesn't exactly work. Now, if you want to play a catperson the heritage thing isn't a workable excuse. Sure, a powerful wizard could of done it as a curse, it could have been an accident while practicing magic, or it could have been something Selenthe actually wanted and worked to have happen to her. The abilities and personality do remind me somewhat of the Japanese Nekomata, which is sort of a magical cat that stands on its hind legs with its tail partially split in two, but Selenthe is a little tall for that to be a perfect excuse. Really, the reason isn't too important as long as it fits the character and setting, and as long as you have it worked out by the time it becomes important in the RPG it doesn't matter how long it takes you to decide.
I'm sure you'll fix these really minor things, so you're accepted.
Lemurian: You do realize how hard it will be for Bill to achieve anything, right? I'm sure you do have a plan, but I have to be sure you understand the situation. He won't be allowed (Doesn't mean he can't, but there will be penalties) to do anything apart from invoke his domain, and some how he'd have to use that to direct the group to awakening Bel-Shamharoth... and that demon wouldn't exactly be sealed away in an easy to find place, but instead inside some sort of highly protected tomb. The point was to take something challenging, and this certainly counts but i hope you understand what you've gotten into. Accepted.
Raposa Dalua
<-Awesomeness
Wow, this sign-up took way too long to finish. Cursed writer's block! How it mocks me so! Anywho. Mortal first, then deity.
Name: Hakira
Gender: Female
Species: Human
Strengths: Extraordinary strength and agility, prowess in fighting with both her fists and her daggers. She also has exceptional hearing, and an above average sense of smell.
Weaknesses: Very unlikable character, bad at working with other people because she tends to only look out for herself. Her eyesight isn't exactly perfect (it's the reason why she prefers close combat). She's also scared of water (can't swim), and is prone to getting herself into trouble.
Description: Hakira is rather short for a seventeen year old girl, standing at a mere four foot eleven. She has rich, dark brown skin that has the overall rough feeling of those who spend a great deal of time outside. Her short, mid-cheek length hair is silvery white in color, and when hit with the right light its sheen can be comparable to that of snow. She has violent, hot pink eyes that shimmer with mischeif and trickery; they are usually accompanied by a "yer darn right I'm up to something" kind of smile. Tattooed onto her face are three light blue stripes, two on the right and one on the left. She has let the nails on her fingers grow out a bit; they're not easily breakable and are quite sharp. She can usually be seen keeping her nails to size by filing them on nearby rocks.
Her attire is simple, consisting of a fully black, low cut tunic. On her legs are a pair of white, footless nylons that for some reason always look brand new, despite her having worn them for quite some time. Her shoes are simple black pull on shoes, made for easy removal and comfort. Attached to her wrists are two skin tight golden wrist bands that appear to be unremovable. Also located on her right arm is a black band, indicating that she is in mourning. She has gold on her ears as well, in the form of hoops. Two thin hoops, each about the size of a fifty cent piece, hang in her earlobes. Then, on her left ear, two much smaller golden hoops hug the upper part of her ear. The right ear is similar, but it only contains one golden hoop. Around her waist is a white belt that holds the containers of the two large, curved daggars she fights with.
Personality: If you wanted a one word description of Hakira from her peers, it would most likely be "smart-***." She does her best to live up to this too. She's wisecracking, smart-alecky, sarcastic, and her first impression towards people tends to make them either strongly dislike her or just be untrusting in general. She enjoys taunting her enemies and just generally mocking others in a friendly manner. Arguing is like a hobby to her; she'll keep debating for as long as she can. She just seems to enjoy it, and often never really takes her squabbles seriously. Her outlook on life is very negative, and she will often be the first to make the comment "'We're doomed" should she get herself into a situation where the outcome looks grim. Despite her overall rude mannerisms, she does have some traces of morality within her (though if you asked, she'd definetely tell you otherwise).
Goals/Motivation: To seek out the killer of her previous lover, and kill that person. Revenge, basically.
Other: Strawberry Shortcake.
Name: Angrenaka (ahn-gray-nah-kah)
Gender: Not really applicable, but should Angrenaka take the form of anything else it will always be female, so you may apply the female pronouns to her. Technically though, she doesn't have one.
Species: Energy/Light (I guess)
Description: Angrenaka is pretty simple for a deity. She is a floating ball of light, about the size of a softball. She is outlined by a thin line of transparency, then immediately goes to a dark shade, which gradually increases in light until it comes to her pure white center. She can be any color at any given time, and is constantly changing color. However, this constant change is only distracting to those who want it to be distracting.
Personality: Angrenaka is serious and quiet, but certainly not cold towards others. She prefers to keep calm at all times, and it is rare to see her become angry, scared, or surprised. She is kind, but it is the stuffy sort of kindness that makes you feel both welcome and unwanted at the same time. She has a rather drab attitude that makes her seem just uncaring in general. Her first judgement of other people is usually not the judgement she relies on; she believes that there is more to a person that what is first shown. Certainly not one of those 'what you see is what you get' types. She holds a fierce sense of honor which she considers more important than her own existence, and will never break her word, no matter what the cost. A caution when attempting to annoy her or breaking any sort of pact with her; her sarcasm is biting and when invoked, her wrath has often proved to be fatal to everyone involved (except herself, of course).
Domains: Charisma, Spirit, and Sickness
Other: French Fries.
Sample RPG: Gonna make me put a sample up? Are ya, are ya? No? Yeah, I didn't think so. >_>
Espeon Hybrid
Mortal Sign Up Form
Name: Tanya
Gender: Female
Species: Gryphette (a mini-Gryphon)
Age: 125 (equivalent of 25 human years)
Strengths: Tanya’s small sleek form seems built for speed and grace, in air, on land, and in the water, when she chooses to swim. Tanya is highly charming and she knows how to survive very well.
Weaknesses: Tanya isn’t the brightest Gryphette in the world, she is a bit too flighty to have ever really learned book smarts, so she might need a few history/math lessons every now and again(although she for some reason could always do the simple math when it came to counting, and keeping track of her pretties). She is flighty and easily surprised so don’t go jumping out of a bush at her, unless you mean to. But, be careful if you do, she might react by attacking instead of running, with her you’re never too sure which it’ll be.
Description: Tanya is about the size of a young stallion, which when compared to the Gryphette’s cousin the Gryphon, which is usually closer to the size of a house, is quite small. In any case, Tanya got her rust-tawny fur from her mother and from her father she received beautiful golden eyes, and her feathers which are a wondrous coppery color that only her father has the like of. Her claws and beak are very sharp and all are ivory in color. Her ears are feathered and can move about like a cat’s while her tail is that of a rust-tawny-colored lion.
Personality: Tanya is a whiz when it comes to getting what she wants, but if you ask her anything about straight-up facts, she isn’t exactly the most informative person around, (unless you’re asking about her pretties). She is also very intense, when she focuses on getting/doing something, it gets done and it gets done well. The tricky bit is to get her focused. Tanya is pretty trusting, but she is not a complete fool, she can always tell when someone is straight-out lying to her (this is a trait common to all Gryphonic creatures, this gift can be befuddled by half-truths, but she will know that something about a half-truth doesn’t seem spot-on). Tanya is also fairly curious and she sometimes gets into trouble for it. She eats a lot and sometimes appears to be a glutton, but everything she eats is absolutely necessary for her up-keep. She never takes more than she needs and is willing to hunt for others so long as they pay her. In other words she’s a bit of a mercenary skilled at only specific things.
History: As is true for most young Gryphettes, Tanya never really knew her mother very well. Her father was the keeper of the nesting Eyre, and he taught her everything he could pound into her flighty head. While that unfortunately did not include much on the history of the world nor too much math, she learned what was important to the survival of any wild animal, how to hunt. In fact she excelled at it and when it came to hunting there was no other Gryphlet he would prefer take with him on the hunt. She grew up learning all the secrets of the forest that she could squeeze from both her surroundings and from her father.
When she was old enough and had gained as much knowledge from her father as she was going to, she left the Eyre and found herself a nice part of forest to live in. Then, when she was about 120 yrs old, humans began to move into the area, cutting down trees and using them to build things they called villages. Tanya didn’t understand why the humans would want to alienate themselves from the forest as they did, but when they started to come a little too close to home for comfort she made herself known to the people and struck a bargain with them that she would help provide them with food and help defend the town if any enemies ever came, but only if they stopped cutting trees and stayed out of the forest.
The exceptions to the rule of not entering the forest extended to the experienced hunters of the town and those special ones that she deemed worthy as care-takers. She did once show a human one of her many hoards of treasures but they betrayed her trust by stealing. Although they had fled the town, it only took Tanya a week to track down the vagabond and when she found the girl, she gave her one chance to repent but the girl had changed from the wealth and refused. It was with deep regret and sorrow that Tanya tore the betrayer to pieces, but she swore she would never tell another soul, especially not any humans having learned of the greed that could poison their hearts.
Since then, she has returned to the area of the village and she did not tell anyone what she had done because she knew that the humans had their own idea of justice and that it did not match hers at all, so they lived on in ignorance and she lived happily both in the forest and as a member of the village.
Goals/Motivation: Tanya has an obsession with gold and jewels and has hoards of them, each hoard is hidden somewhere deep within the forest that is her home. If she knows that someone has stolen from her, which does not happen often because it takes a great fool to steal from a Gryphette, she will hunt them until either she or they are dead. Otherwise her only goal in life is to obtain as many pretties as she can in any way she finds to be “fun”.
Other: Jobs Tanya considers “fun”: Hunting, spying, delivering important messages (based on her idea of what is important, which is not always coherent with the importance someone else will put on their own message), protecting another’s valuables, and acting as sooth-sayer(a lie detector).
How Tanya takes her payment: Each job’s pay will be determined by Tanya when she gets each job, but you can try to bargain with her to get her to lower her price if you feel it is an unfair one, you may either get her to lower it or get her angry enough to not do the job, this will depend on her mood and the job itself. Her payment can range from a portion of her hunt, to jewels and pretties, to a month’s worth of food and supplies again this will depend on her mood and the job.
She was on one of her traveling jobs and was going through the woods to reach her destination. It had been three days since she had last crossed a stream or found any source of fresh drinkable water. She ran across the tavern wondering what on earth a tavern would be doing in the middle of the woods but knowing that taverns had water she carefully approached and entered. While the other patrons of the tavern has originally stared, a few glares had stopped the staring and she went to the barman and asked in her sibilant hissing speech asked for some water as she plunked a coin down on the table. The barman while seeming amused, did not protest giving her the water. That is how she got to the tavern.
That work for ya?
