Behold! More Corn!
lately I dont think game freak has been doing a very good job making and advertising pokemon games

1. they should of revealed more info on diamond and pearl at E3
2. they are working on like 3 diffrent games all at the same time (no wonder its taking so long for DP to come out)
3. they really need to advertise to the older crowd a bit more, because the pokemon games are ment for kids but the large amount of strategys and effects could only be memorized by a teenage or older player

who else agrees with me on this and who thinks that there are even more problems with game freak?

^seriously stop b*tching
are you game freak?
can you design pokemon games?
are you making all the money there making?
NO!!!
so leave game freak alone there doing there best and maybe they don't need to advertise more than they did, they may even not be allowed to advertise too much

Gamefreak can take its time all it wants, i dont care, pokemon games are repititve to me now. Who cares how much time gamefreak takes? its up to them how they make there games.

The amount of snippets from the 4th generation is ample in my opinion. Its just that they spent time working on Trozei which peeved me. Trozei is just going to be another failure Pokemon game. Instead of wasting money and time on developing these games, they really could work on DP.

1. The want to raise anticipation for the game. They are trying to get people excited. Gaming companies do is all the time, and you only just noticed?
2. Actually, they're almost done with Ranger and Mysterious Dungeon. Also, wouldn't it be pretty boring if there were no new games between Emerald and DP (except Trozei, but that's just a puzzle game)?
3. Um...how? By adding guns and violence? No thanks. The current image is suitable for all ages, and if they added an "older" image, they could lose the the younger audience.

1. This is so that they raise anticipation for the game.
If they release too much at once, this game will be talked about once.
Rather than release a little a few times, this game will be talked about multiple times.

2. Latios said that Game Freak only work on the main games, so it's not their fault that the side-games are being released at the same time.

3. I agree with you there, but how is this possible? What gives the 'kiddy' image to Pokemon? The anime. The smaller kids watch it, and everything that the smaller kids watch is automatically deemed 'childish'. The actual game and NetBattle are enjoyed by the older players, who play competitevly. So, in the end, there's nothing GameFreak can do about it.

I Agree, When it comes to us teenagers they DONT advertise at all towards but it takes a older person to memerize stuff.

Actually, Gamefreak didn't make Trozei. Genius Sonority (the ones who made colosseum/XD) did. ;)

They're not exactly major problems. Gamefreak's "problem" is favouring certain Pokemon such as Snorlax, Alakazam, Blissey, and Scyther and hating on Pinsir, Dewgong, and things like Magcargo and Persian.

Advertisement isn't that bad - they're raising anticipation and taunting us. And it's certainly working.

I used it as an example. The only real way to appeal to an older audience is to add sex, drugs, language and violence, and everyone knows it. Look at games such as Grand Theft Auto. I see nothing wrong with the current image, it seems to grab attention of people of all kinds of ages.

Or maybe it's the fact that they're all cartoon characters in the first place? Anything animated or cartoony in appearence is instantly deemed kiddy. Anything that's on a Nintendo console, that isn't bloody, gory or realistic is instantly kiddy.
Even if the animé didn't exist, chances are, the entire franchise would still be looked down on and classed as a series of games made for children. That's just how the world works, unfortunatly.
...but it would still sell like hotcakes.

Yeah, ok!
There's nothing wrong with the way GameFreak goes about things, but they're just using the same formula they've been using since Red/Blue nearly 10 years ago.

Will a main RPG ever deviate from the 10 year old that goes to 8 Gyms and battles the Elite 4? Is there a reason we can't have a story driven Pokemon game, like most RPG's have?

The storyline in the games do not exist, the format of the games are the same as they were in 1998. All that's new is a different land, new Pokemon, and a few upgrades to the battle system. Otherwise there's nothing new that can reinvent the franchise.

That's basically the problem, they just stick to doing the same thing over and over again.

Because, IMO and also others, it works.

There's not a major story you must confinely follow, or that will narrow the games down, and the Pokemon games are well-known for being fairly free-going, done at your own pace. Although there could easily be a bit more story, yes.

GameFreak is a Japanese company, they're main target is Japanese. If you want DP info, go to Japan.
Not like Japan's got much info right now, either. A handful of Pokemon, a few screenshots and snippets of information...

Plus they need to put locations, linkability and game mechanics to the D/P games. By the way, is Pokemon MD and Ranger a main game?

Not to mention if you want a story, you can go outside GameFreak to Colosseum and XD which have ample stories (XD moreso, but I digress.)

Or, you can become a fanfic writer. I love the games, but they cultivate so many ideas of my own that I write stories to work them out. It's very satisfying if done correctly.

May I ask how Gamefreak has been advertising badly? They aren't responsible for marketing of the games, only creation, so I don't see how they can screw up a department that Nintendo runs

I'm not sure about Ranger but even if MD is a main game I don't think 4kids will have much to do with it. Due to the fact it is a Pokemon edition of the Mysterious Dungeon series which that series had nothing to do with Pokemon originally. Mysterios Dugeon was made by someone else and many Mysterious Dungeon games were made way before the Pokemon versions of them in Japan.

Mysterious Dugeons not a new thing and it is not made by 4kids usually so the people who usually make the Mysterious Dungeon series will probably be making the Pokemon edition ones.=)
