Like the rest of you, I know that if I went back to X/Y or AS/OR, I would be shocked as well. But it's so hard to imagine going back to those games due to S/M's story and region being more enjoyable for me. I remember when I saw the first in-game images, and I got so excited about humans actually looking proportional, and done well enough that they would look like they were straight out of a Pokemon anime. Sadly, some individual Pokemon still (in my opinion) have horrible, chunky 3D models, where the official Sugimori artwork never indicated it. I still have a big issue with Lapras' ears being almost forward-facing, when in official art it is more on the sides of its head. Looks like Mickey Mouse... :(

Yes that was kind of disappointing that all previous models where left untocuhed a majority untouched would have been fine but some did need tweaks. Like all Gen 6 and 7 Models look great, Fletchinder isn't awkwardly hovering and Toucannon is on the ground so not all flying types have to be in the air. With so many previous Mons I guess it makes sense they'd group all flying types together and have them hover but it does still suck.
