GameShark vs. Action Replay

Has anyone had experience with either of these, especially using them for GB Advance games on the Nintendo DS?

Before anyone starts going off on me, I have a reason to ask this question.

I recently purchased a Nintendo DS and Pokemon Emerald. I'm the only one I know playing Emerald, Ruby, or Sapphire. And I also have a DS, so if I DID know anyone else playing, they'd need two GB Advances in order to do any trading.

Basically, the only way I can get into the Battle Frontier, except by buying two GB Advances, a Ruby, and a Sapphire, is to GameShark or Action Replay myself the characters that I can't get except through trades.

So does anyone have any recommendations?

you dont need to get all pokes to get to the frontier? you need all pokes to get a johto starter (totodille chikorita and cyndaquill) and we are not allowed to talk about action replay / gameshark so now when its answered, please any mod close :( i feel bad about those wo want to cheat..

I have found out if you put in the cheat wrong your game will get seleted :(

if this gets closed, fair enough... I didn't realize it was an issue on this board to talk about it. I just don't have any other options to fill up my dex after I've beaten the Elite Four. I don't know anyone with any of the games, and even if I did, the DS doesn't allow for trades.

Do you have any friends to trade with?
My brother and sister have an advance sp
so i can trade

If you ask me, I think Gameshark is what they call it in America, but Action replay is the name over here in England.

nope, no one to trade with.

Trust me, I'm usually VERY against using the GameShark for anything, but unless I spend 100-some bucks on a couple Advances and a couple other games, then log about another 200 hours playing those game, this is my only option.

then dont get the full dex.. the johto starters arent that great anyway.. it isnt word to cheat! if you cheat, you risk that WHOLE your game gets deleted AND you can maybe never play your game again becuse it affects WHOLE the cartrigde! so unless you want to pay some 100 bucks on new games, then DONT CHEAT!

gameshark is made by madcatz last ( checked (could be wrong)
action replay is made by datel

both exist in america, japan, and europe. you just need to know where to look.

and yes this discussions against the rules, and no AR's and GS's made for the GBA won't work in a DS's GBA slot (tried already.)

EDIT: draco draco, you are the biggest lyer ever. if cheating messes up your game, just start a new game, it can only effect the savegame, not the game itself. don''t say anything about something you haven't had experiences with please.

tell him to try making a new save game.

the AR is a device that messes with the hex codings of the game temporarily, so that the gamesave can save that you have the items/pokemon you want, that is why pokemon encounter codes do not stay on after rebooting the system without the AR after saving.

But I wouldn't be able to get the characters exclusive to r&s. Roselia, Meditite, Zangoose, etc...

6) Do NOT talk about sharking or anything like that, technically they are illegal (But we do it anyway and Nintendo don't mind as long as we keep getting their games) but either way don't dicuss them.
