this anime rocked and if you have not seen this series this thread will have spoilers in it so ummm..... yea lets talk about gantz i'll go first. this series really ****** me off the ending sucked and i hate what they do to some other characters that really pisses me off

I know what you mean. Well that's why you should read the manga as it gets way better and is still continuing. the manga ka of the series is now taking a big break so he can think up some good ideas as lately the story geting a little out of hand.

I havn't seen Gantz but my friend who has seen it told me that it was very intresting!I think I'll buy some dvds I saw at Wall-mart!

The anime version sucks, except for the animation itself. The manga will start its "2nd Phase" this November on the 16th, hopefully it'll be able to pull Gantz way back up and I like how
"Kei Kurono is now dead."
Don't read unless you're reading the manga. Seriously.

well i live in north port fl and i cant find the gantz manga i went to books-a-million and a big book store in my mall but they dont have it where can i find it

It not liscense in US yet. people are reading the scanlations online. Only japanese are out and they have up to volume 19 I believe.

I can give you the scans up to like chapter 211 or so, then you're on your own. The site I'll give you, you will be able to fly through 3/4 of Gantz in a few days.

When I said that, it was the manga. =X

I've seen most of the anime, except for the last 2 episodes of the crappy filler arc.

The manga was chanceled in germany after vol.5 ,quite a shame if you ask me. It´s really a really interesting story and even if the latest chapters aren´t as good as the older ones, the last chapter of "seasson 1" is pure gantz gold, if you ask me. Can´t wait till november.

the anime, on the other hand..well, the first episodes are okay, but I feel like the action takes way too long, I prefer the manga. The bad anime ending sucks as well...I think they didn´t want to adapted izumi´s massacre scene in the anime. A shame, the dinosaur mission was very entertaining.

The only problem I have with gantz is the random sex/sexy scenes which don´t seem to fit later in the manga ( in the beginning, it´s part of Kurono´s character,so it´s okay)

I like gantz because of its plot twists and its characters, the actionis nice, but I like the plot a bit more..hopefully it´ll end soon. Wanna know what gantz really is ( I bet the mangaka didn´t expect gantz to be this successful. As their are many plotholes at the beginning)

I´ll rewatch the gantz anime in a few weeks because it´ll air on german television. I´m curious how the dubvoices will be like

The anime is rather subdued and I wouldn't really put it in any favor... then again, it seems that any adaption that Gonzo touches turns to utter crap. The manga is inherently better, though for one exception...

Oku applies the "reset button" to his characters, and we get the revival crap that I just cannot stand...

Other than that, it's quite an interesting and worthwhile read.

Yet in the manga, we see the girlfriend enter the picture, and witness how badly Oku wants to include her... Ugh, I'm just not really fond of those traits.

As usual, I take that the Manga is better. But I have no access to any manga here, so I'm stuck to animé.

I totally enjoyed the first 3 arcs of the story. Strangely enough, those were the based ones on the manga. Up until there, good plot.

the girl he met in the buddha arc, did anyone thought she look remarkably like Angelia Jolie?

And I'm referring to my irritation with his use of the latter. Her character is rather boring and flat, and... well, the Deus Ex Machina struck in the manga, and we still have to endure her character.

When it comes to manga to anime adaptions, it's true for most of the time. When it comes to anime to manga adaptions, it's true for all of the time (at least for the ones that I've encountered).

The Gantz anime has some nice music, the art is fine, and the first three arcs are pretty faithful, save for some screw-ups on characterizations. However, the integration of 3-D animation is awful, and the animation is just all around lacking like most of Gonzo's works. And of course they went ahead with a second season after the first one finished... only to catch up to the manga and crap it off with a Gonzo ending.

Naw, the fact that her lips, body shape, stature, and her attitude to a certain degree were similar to Jolie doesn't mean that she was based on her. I mean, not even the fact that she went tombraider on the statue's a*ses during the fight solidifies that. You'd have to be idiotic to assume that. What are you, stupid?!

... I'll let you try to catch the references that I threw in that honest remark of mine.
