Gen 8 Region Hopes and Dreams

This prob fits more in the new Pokemon thread.....

But I hope gen8 gives us a regional mammal that is dual type, and a regional bird that doesn't end up /Normal.

2 regional bugs with decent stats and fun new/rarely used type combos would be fun.

2 new fossil lines.

2 psuedo legends like gen 3.

Well if you post it over in the new Pokemon wishlist thread as well, then fun can be had by discussion the possible species all those things could be.

Judging from recent rumors and posts, as well as Junichi Masuda's recent post, the region in the next game(s) would be based on... South America (and possibly Mexico).

South American region hints huh? I'd be down with that though I was partly looking forward to a mostly artic region after Alola's tropical setting Oh well next time

Ducolamia

SAYYYY WHAT???
Another hot region? Sucks

To be fair, I think people are over-analyzing Masuda's tweets for any possibility of the region. I remember people going crazy with the first commercial for sun and moon thinking that the gym leaders were revealed by the pictures of the school names.

And while I'm not necessarily tired of tropical regions there are many places to explore in South America. I would like to stress that not all tropical regions are alike. Yeah, some of these places are hot, but there are cool things GF implemented in past regions. I don't know about you, but seeing Mount Lanakila was something I didn't expect in Alola. So I hope they do more of this in the future.

Thing is just before Hawaii was confirmed for Sun/Moon Masuda also visited and tweeted about a water deer sanctuary in China. So...

Let me introduce you to scenic, Terra Del Fuego, a place with a sub-polar climate, located at the southern tip of South America:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tierra_del_Fuego

South America is a huge continent, and if they base a region on some part of South America (it will just be a part, I doubt they'll turn a whole continent into a region), and there's plenty of cold places in that continent. The region might end up being located in the highest reaches of the Andes, for example...

Peanuts aren't just a nut.
Provided that the next region (whatever it’s based on) actually is a hotter one, I too would think that would suck. It’s not only getting old now, but I don’t want to be restricted once again to warmer weather wear for my trainer customization options.

If we're going to take the tweet as hint, then we should focus on the habitat of the Capybara which doesn't really include the colder regions of South America.
Based on this handy map from Wikipedia:
Hydrochoerus_hydrochaeris_range.png

I'd say the most likely base for a Pokemon region is that area is Brazil, since it's the biggest and best-known country around there.

That's assuming this is actually a hint, which is probably not.

Since Crystal
I don't think it is over analyzing. He posted a picture of the Moon in Feb before sun and moon came out. I cannot remember the caption of that but the capybara thing "Waiting is the transcendence cute!! lol" translated by microsoft.
as for South America being "hot" its actually very diverse. look for yourself here,

even Cold places: https://www.wildernesstravel.com/trip/argentina/patagonia-hiking/trip-like

It would be an amazing place to choose for a pokemon game and sincerely look forward to it.

edit: and I am sure they will use the mayan/aztec/olmac/incan lore in some way and their ruins.

Edit, found it moon tweet caption "The sun is still out, the moon is shining big and bright!! The birds are tweeting too (laughs)" feb 17 2016
