Gen8 starter Pokemon what do you want to see?

I was going to come into this thread to say how I wanted a water starter based on a crab, preferably a water/rock coral crab, but someone beat me to it!

Water-->Water/Rock. Coral crab and carrying crab hybrid. Defensive special attacker. It's kinda like Torterra but crab instead of turtle, and coral instead of mountain/tree.

This is literally my dream Pokémon. I’d die of happiness if it became real.

Other ideas I have for water starters (because they’re my favorite):
Platypus and hippo are good choices for a mammalian starter that aren’t otters. They can easily have a cute base form and a cool final form, which seems like the goal for starters. As for birds, I think a crane or even a flamingo would be cool! The only problem is I can’t see the flamingo being blue instead of pink. They might make it work though. Considering it’s been a while since we’ve had a reptilian water starter, I’d say we’re due for one. For this I’d like to see a common basilisk. A water snake could work too, but I personally would prefer a basilisk.

I’d like to see the water starter with a sturdier design this time around. Something more like Feraligatr. The past few have all been very slim. I think a crab would be great for a starter with a sturdier shape.

I'd love a Platypus starter too. But I want it as a Grass/Electric type. That play into how Platypus don't seem to be what they visually look like they should (mammal that lays eggs, has a beak, etc) as well as how they use something called electroception when under water to see and hunt.

I'd love a hippo starter too. I imagine a cute base stage, and a massive final stage. Water/Rock playing into weight and buoyancy could be fun, or Water/Electric as a hydro hippo maybe?

Assuming we will continue to get a grass/fire/water combo, I would like to see something that isn't fighting, something that isn't flying, and something that isn't poison. Unless the combos are grass/flying, water/fighting, and fire/poison. That would be cool.

As for monster types. Hmm, I do like the platypus idea, but water/poison has been done. How about water/fighting platypus with poison point? That would be so awesome!

Why? It's only the males that have the poison. If anything Water/Electric makes more since. Platypus literally use electrical impulses to see and percieve things underwater. Its a major function of thier bill.

While I think Water/Poison would be the most widely understood typing for a platypus starter, I would love to see one as Water/Electric. For one thing, that’s just a unique typing I want to see on a starter. I’m also pretty interested in animals that have senses humans don’t, and I’d love to see the platypus’s electroreception represented in its Pokémon design.

While I don't "believe" in the zodiac theory. I don't mind it. And honeslty wouldnt mind a rabbit, snake, ox, goat, or horse fire starter.

A lot if not all of the zodiac animals do work well as Fire Types. Though, I just don't see the point in another Fire Horse when we already did Rapidash.

I think a Pegasus Starter should be Grass/Flying or Grass/Fairy. Make it look like the Trojan horse (which was you know made of wood?). Pegasus is also a Greek mythical creature. So it all comes together quite nicely.

slightly off topic, but the platypus may be be a better fit for one of the beginning pokemon on your journey and not a starter because they could do a gender branch of types.
so it starts out as just water and when it evolves based on male or female it can be water/poison or water/ground. personally i think that would be cool.

in April there was some picture drawings posted online rumored to be the starters i found last night. i like them. no idea how likely it is to be true.

I'd like all the starters to be mammalian, something that's never been done in a Pokemon game. Water could be dolphin for instance. Either the Grass or Fire line could be based on some species of bat, with the unevolved stage being a bat pup, and at least the fully evolved stage having Flying as its secondary type.

The other animal I want for a starter is a wolf, the initial stage is likewise a pup.

Though it's interesting to note that, ever since Gen 5 we've always had 2 mammalian starters. And the only time all 3 were the same group was Gen 1 (reptiles, if Bulbasaur is indeed a reptile)

I do think it be fun to get a horse starter on another type than fire, largely because of us already having Rapidash line.... I do think they could find a way to make it different enough it could be alot of fun.

I'd like to see them avoid a pegusus if possible just because that seems to much like a long lost Rapidash Evo. (Shame because of the old Greek horse pulling sun myth too).

Maybe a Fire/Ghost death/apocolpse horse? Or a Fire/Steel stalion.

I don't really get how a Pegasus would seem like a "lost Rapidash evo". A Pegasus is something entirely different from a unicorn, and well, Rapidash isn't even a very good unicorn.

Grass type: would like to see a Dipholosaurus like starter. Grass / Dark or Grass / Poison.
Fire: Minoraur or Komodo Dragon. Both could be Fire / Gound or Fire / Steel for Minotaur and Fire / Poison for the Komodo Dragon one
Water: An Elephant would be nice. I saw a fanart once of a Water / Psychic one, and have been a fan of that ever since.

I got a few ideas, though I am not sure how goo they are, this was for once a tough one to think up good ideas for:

Although I would prefer it too be a Fighting/Fairy type pseudo legend I would like to see a Fire/Fairy Calf that turns into a Minotaur

Grass type Gliding Lizard https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Draco_(genus) make the final form a Grass/Dragon type because its in the genus name and because why not?

Maybe a Water type Jaguar themed Pokemon, not sure what kind of a type combo for the final evolved form

K, Grass/Electric. I propose a Platypus, lives around water areas and hunter certain water types. Very high Special Attack, rest of stats are medium range-ish.

Fire/Fairy. A winged and feathery serpant. Doesnt flyfas much as it glydes low tobthe ground. Fast frail mixed attacker.

Water/Ice. A Eskimo beaver like hyprid. Uses powerful tail and teeth to cut and carve and pack ice. Bulky physical attacker.
