This entire franchise is no stranger to ridiculous things, but the above picture is the utter culmination of the utter stupidity of the latter half of ''Railgun S''. A particularly not so bright powerless middleschooler becomes able to pilot a mecha and go toe-to-toe against other probably much more experienced mecha pilots easily with only a single night's worth of memorizing a dumb manual. It was poorly foreshadowed and the execution was never going to the work in the first place.

I havent even watched Railgun and im a Huge Raildex fan. Only reason i havent seen it cause i know its 90% filler and doesnt follow the manga all the time. It only follows 2 arcs of the manga

The director, who is famed for his work in drama anime, sprinkles a little bit plot in slice of parts of Railgun, which is why though there's a little bit of plot in every episode of Railgun, the story (that is the material adapted from the manga) doesn't start until several episodes later.

In the second season, Railgun S, he was forced to direct the first half of the anime seriously because of the dark nature of the arc in contrast to his usual style, but damn did he try hard to put the other girls in there despite their irrelevance in the arc. Despite this, the first half of Railgun S is considered the definitive adaptation of the Sisters Arc, rivaling even the original manga. Sadly, and predictably, he completely drops the ball in the second half. It was expected that it was original material, and it was expected that it'll fall short, but it was more than that, to me and to many others it was single-handedly the worst story arc in the Raildex franchise. The picture I posted above doesn't contain the utter douchenuzzle-tude the director pulled throughout the arc with her invented four girl ensemble and misplaced power of friendship.

Has anyone heard of Dennou Coil? It's about kids who wear glasses that can access the internet. It's a pretty nice anime, more people should watch it.
