We need a rival worth having, like Blue and Silver. Someone we actually want to face.

This may come as a surprise to some, but I'd actually love to see Oak in these games - it is the 20th Anniversary after all.

I'd like to see another female professor, since Juniper is the only female one so far.

Having Oak in the games for the 20th anniversary would make sense. Also, along with that have a blue or silver-like rival as well. It's definitley satisfying battling and beating those rivals that are jerks toward you in the beginning.

I'm hoping that, like XY and BW, you have a group of rivals. One being the classic rival, being the opposite gender (and choosing the starter super effective against yours), one actually being your younger sister (choosing the starter weak to yours), and, given the region seems to have a tropical theme, maybe a surfer like dude (and like Tierno and Trevor, he doesn't choose a starter).
Not too sure about the professor, both name wise and what they'd study. Maybe something like Professor Palm, and studies how the day/night cycle affects Pokemon.

This would be great. I do want another rival like Blue & Silver (or even Hugh) and having multiple rivals is nice too! The more the merrier! I just want them all to have decent teams throughout the story. If they all don't have at least 5 (or even 4 for some of them, assuming we get more than 1 rival), I'll be pretty annoyed. And we should be able to rematch them anytime after beating the story. Those are some of the reasons why I really liked Barry.

Also, if these games have it where we have about three other friend-like characters along with the rival (so four total) than I hope they're more interesting (and less annoying) than our friends in X and Y. I personally didn't like the friends we had in those games.

Kinda surprised this kind of thread got started when we don't have any confirmed characters yet (I don't think anyway).

Buuuuut, I hope the female protagonist is someone I'd likely portray as the spunky and energetic type, so that I'd find her to be another great girl for Ash <3

The guy looks a bit like Red although the girl could be any one. I'm not sure that they're the Sun and Moon protagonists tho. ^^

I feel there will be two rivals, one will be the friendly rival that the player character you did not choose, and the other being a bratty boy who brags about being farther in progress than you but whines like a baby whenever you beat him.

And I also want to see another female professor.

The one with the red shirt looks like a guy to me. In early screenshots of BW, I remembered thinking that Hilbert looked like a girl.

By the way, I like the idea of Professor Oak appearing in this game, which I think was mentioned in this thread. It ties in nicely with the 20th anniversary. Maybe he could even give Kanto starters too. We haven't actually seen Oak since HGSS. I just hope the new region doesn't have obvious Kanto references like Kalos did.

This girl might be a future rival/supporting character. Interestingly enough, she looks like Shauna. She's carrying a Machamp, Wobbuffet and Furfrou.

I kind of want the default Protags to be walking Call Backs to the past ones. In a way that's both subtle AND new!

Or someone that isn't really an acquaintance/friend.

Silver, still in is IMO, the best one.

I want another jerk rival. A friendly rival can get the starter that is weak to yours, but I want a jerk to get the one that is strong. Also I want more dark skinned characters.
