I would be so disappointed if Hau is just a happy loser. I'd love to see him get really excitable over battles, yet is kind of a sore loser. I could also see his goal being to be the next Kahuna of Melemele, but feels like he isn't strong enough, after losing to you.

I never said they had similar builds? Clearly this'll just go in circles lol, we'll see and I'll take the L if all these obvious hints towards something means nothing.
I could see Hau feeling sort of depressed because he wants to live up to Hala's strength, but can't because of the player always beating him. It would be a nice way to see how he deals with the pressure of being the Kahuna's grandson.
I would be fine with that, it would give him some more depth than just being some kid that becomes friends with you and battles you for fun a few times.

Because of the whole festival thing at the beginning, I can definitely see Hau as a more competitive rival.
What I would like is the general characters of Pokemon Sun and Moon to use mainly Alolan pokemon. I am ok with them using past generation pokemon but I just feel that last generation even though there were few new pokemon there were too many past generation pokemon used by the characters when they could have easily been replaced by the pokemon from that generation.

While I understand what you mean, remember that, in-game, the world is not separated by generation. All of the Alola pokemon, Gen VII and previous gens alike, are native to that region. That would be like saying the Alolans ONLY use pokemon that are unique to Alola and ignore all of the other pokemon that live there. That would be a pretty strange culture. As far as the game characters are concerned, Garchomp is just as much an "Alola pokemon" as an Alola Ninetales or a Mimikyu.

I really hope they stick to only having Alolan Pokemon with the main characters, except for Trial captains/type specialists seeing as there'll probably not be enough of certain types.

Corphish wasn't random for Tierno. It's native to Kalos and learns Swords Dance, which is Tierno's schtick. Like I said before, to a Kalosian, Corphis is just as much a Kalos pokemon as Furfrou is. You're seeing it from a meta point of view, which wouldn't fit well into the actual feel of the game world being a living place.
Yeah. That'd be nice. Or he'd just keep it Normal. If he's going to change Silvally's type, then I hope it's Dark or something.

Hou was confirmed to have a Pichu though... so I suppose Alolan Raichu count as an Alolan Pokemon, but to me that's like saying Mega Pokemon are Kalos Pokemon

I dunno, I found it hilarious that every single Team Skull member seems to have some kind of seizure when they're talking to you, but on the other hand the ridiculously exaggerated emotes Hau does kind of annoyed me pretty quickly.
