Shouldn't Wally be older? Since Hoenn and Kanto's games takes place within the same timeframe, he can't be that much younger than Red and Blue. If Red and Blue are 20, then Wally should be around his late teens during SM.

Seeing as Cynthia's in the Battle Tree and it mentions famous trainers, that should of course mean Lance, Steven, Iris and Diantha should be available. Wallace and Alder are a possibility, but I doubt the latter will appear due to abdicating his position after BW. I'd like to see the protagonists too, but with mixed genders for diversity (Ethan, May, Dawn, Hilbert, Rosa, and Calem for example). If Wally and Blue are in, then perhaps the other rivals, so Silver, May/Brendan, Barry, Cheren/Bianca, Hugh, and maybe Shauna since she mentioned going to another region.

This goes without saying, but if most of the pre-gen V Gym Leaders were in the PWT, they should be in the Battle Tree. I'd love to see Roxie, Marlon, and the Kalos leaders added into the leader roster.

However seeing Red and Blue again makes me happy and its nice to see them continue the overall timeline.

I'm a fan of the characters returning, but I admit the redesigns of Green and Red...didn't grab me at first, though I do love the '96' on Red's shirt. Great nod to the series!

As for the timeline, well, it's been mostly thrown out of the window anyways. If we were still to go off the older timeline (I/III, II/IV, then V) then some things would line up rather well (this would tell us, for example, that Wally being identical in appearance likely means SM are set a few years after ORAS, and this happening before DPPt adds up in that Cynthia is in her DPPt attire and not her Unova attire, which would have been much more appropriate in my opinion...) though others would not (namely Red and Green being roughly the same age as Wally; they're clearly, at bare minimum, 5 years older judging from their designs).

Forgetting the mess of a timeline that the Pokéverse is currently in when it comes to main series games, though, I think it's fair to say that Gen VI and Gen VII appear to take place in the same continuity, likely meaning that the events of Gen I took place earlier than they did before. Heck, perhaps the age gaps between some characters somewhat reflects the year gap between the release of one character's first appearance and another's, but who knows at this point?

Re-match would be nice... XY are quite disappoint that E4 haven't been upgraded after you beat the game.

And i hope we can battle trial captains eventually... if not, no point give them type specialist.

It's hard to tell, though I can definitely see some new characters being placed around the Battle Tree or on Poni Island for sure, and if not here, possibly at the Alolan League or just scattered around the islands.

They look perfect, moreover they seem to be in their 20s this time around!
Can't wait to fight them once more!
And that Gary's Encounter Theme's remix is simply fantastic! Can't find the words to describe it!

Yeah, they're definitely 20 years old at least.

Seeing Red in such a way is eerie, yet incredibly fascinating and soothing. It shows that the franchise has indeed aged, and so has its fans.

At last a rematch with Red.
Hopefully these encounters award the Legend Ribbon! I've got a number of pokemon I'd like to earn it for that never had the chance to battle at Mt Silver.

Yeah I could see that actually, although I think the Kahunas will probably take the place of the Elite 4.

I wonder if the Trial Captains will show up there.

That would be amazing. Imagine if every champion got to say something relating to their own gimmick.

If they have an N one (which they had better do) then he should mention about how <insert number> years ago he was Team Plasma king, and then something really inspirational about how battling helps the bonds between humans and Pokemon grow.

I just thought. This tree thing is the perfect opportunity to see tons of bromances in action. Blue and Red, Steven and Wallace, etc etc etc... I am praying they do all this.
