I think they're trying to push Matt into the Bara community.
Y'now being big and muscular and all that... The way he talks and looks at guys, and his "love" for Archie.
I bet a lot of Japanese yaoi (more specifically bara) fans are trying to ship them together now.
If Matt is like this, I can't wait to see what they did with Wallace's personality. We know he's already fabulous... I just hope they don't make him over sexualized.

people make this mistake a lot (myself included), but Roxanne has always been a student in the games ("The Rock-Loving Honors Student.") the anime made her a teacher instead.

I can already see the ships. And they can be real ships too with the black flag and all XD. I don't mind the yaoi or yuri but that surprised me that they would let this dialogue pass by without giving it a 2ns thought. Wallace...oh my...he never struck me down as feminized personally, he was always the contest star male version, tucker on the other hand...
After all this time and after watching the demo i will never embrace fully the new tabitha. he IS cool, i like how he acted in the demo but good god, old tabitha was such a badass. And the anime look makes him even cooler. Besides morty and marlon he is my favorite male character in pokemon. In fact, the whole team magma is overall cooler. team aqua got better designs and the admins are good, especially the lovely shelly. Old tabitha don't worry, you will ALWAYS be remembered.

oh, sheesh. some of these reactions to Matt's dialogue. is it really so bothersome that there's some lightly-implied (and yes, "lightly". I highly highly highly doubt at any point Matt will come out and say "I'M IN LOVE WITH MY MAN ARCHIE! I WANNA BE HIS BRO AND HIS BF!") same-sex attraction going on? there's been plenty of far less subtle opposite-sex-implied-romance moments in the series (heck, during the demo that female Magma grunt full-on flirts with Steven.). Matt's dialogue thus far is certainly vague enough to be played off as a bromance, and even if he did say things that implied more than that (again, I'm certain they would never do more than imply), I'd welcome it.

Anyone else is kinda disapointed at steven final team having a carbink? I mean he loves rocks...But it is really underwhelming. Also skarmory without roost us somewhat disapointing. Aerodactyl was a nice touch. Champions love them fossil birds.
This in itself makes me excited to see what else is going to be up with their dialogue. I'm kind of a sucker for these types of things. :B

the whole demo can be interpreted all the wrong way. the way steven talks to you, mentioning every single time "it's the Nth time we meet" it's so strange. The female grunt's and even tabitha's dialogue to steven can be interpreted the other way. I'm not against this, as i said b4, just surprised they didn't 4kids it up like they did with the original cartoon/games. Matt just struck me as too much of a bro. But whatever.
Well, if he had a diancie that would be too much so he's gonna have to get the 2nd best thing. It fits his love for rocks and it may not be the best out there but i can llive with it. Claydol on the other hand is strange to me that it's still there in the rematch. Aerodactyl is indeed cool and i wouldn't mind seeing him with something like rhyperior either.
I would like that somewhere in the future we get someone who specializes simply in water/rock types. Have you seen how many of those exist? good god there's so many, probably the 2nd or 3rd most common type after bug/flying and normal/flying.

Indeed, fossil mons are representative of their region, Every champion bar Green/Blue (Strong reliable mons torough a playtrough plus regional bird and event a pseudo legend in FRLG), Cynthia(Evolution and regional gimmicks) and Alder(N in the first playtrough uses fossils tough) used a fossil pokemon on their matches and rematches, If you think about it that is a really nice touch from GF.
There's only 10 of them. It's a decent number actually, but Grass/Poison and Bug/Poison both have more than that along with the types you mentioned already.
Anyway, for now the most common dual types are ones that appear related e.g. Rock/Ground or Grass/Poison so I don't think a truly unique dual-type specialist can come about for a long while yet.

Oh right, gen 1 brought so many grass/poison types it's not even funny.
One thing i really want in these games is an inverse facility and i hope one of those frontier/resort guys is a inverse battle expert.

One thing I found odd about the character interaction, which has happened in games before, is that Team Aqua and Magma didn't even know who Steven, the Champion of the region they're in, is. It happened in Emerald too in the Space Center, and in the Team Rocket Hideout in Johto with Lance. How do they not know this?
