Speaking of the debate forum, I'm not really sure what standard we're holding it up to? It's bad because some people that post there have shitty opinions? I don't get it. Everything you see there seems about what you'd expect.

I think the problem is more because debate forums are generally bad, and not just specifically ours

I mean we're here to talk about videogames on a forum where most threads here are of the "post your opinion and leave" type, so it's kind of understandable if we sometimes get people who can't debate bleeding into the debate forum

Essentially I've always found debate forums as a way to cement your belief, as it could be challenged. If you're just repeating what you hear and develop an opinion based on that without putting critical thought behind it I think that's a bad idea. If you want to call someone stupid in the debate forum okay, but do it in a way where you're proving them wrong constructively.

What lol. Dafuq are you even talking about

I think I may have misunderstood your post, I thought you where making those dumb arguements, but maybe you are just using them as examples of the debate forum being bad. (if that's the case my bad, I shouldn't have been so hasty to make assumptions)

It was the latter. No problem, I should have made that more clear

Oh, don't get me wrong: most debate forums are equally shitty, for mostly all the same reasons. It's just that I actually go here.

To be fair, tone doesn't carry that well through text.

It's almost time for me to get out my winter coat. I'm crossing my fingers that winter isn't bad this year. Last year our winter was pretty mild. We did get snow, but it wasn't too bad compared to previous years.

From what I noticed, the debate forum went to crap after some of the bigger/better/entertaining (take your pick) debaters left, and that was years ago. Though I swear the Internet has become such a way that with all the screaming and bitch-slapping that goes on with "debates" on social media, actual good and respectable debaters are becoming increasingly hard to find.

But I just totally destroyed this one neckbeard in a debate by saying "ok lmao ur a bigot sweety lol bye" and using clap emojis.

There was this other time I rekt some snowflake by calling him a communist socialist cuck and posting frog memes.

Clearly I am a good debater see I pwned both the fedora dudebro and the degenerate snowflake with facts and logic (Since someone already misunderstood one of my posts, no I'm not serious, in case someone else thinks I am)

The debate forum here is actually pretty tame compared to other debate forums. I never take part in political debates anymore, though. I have my reasons.

Yeah political debates are something I usually stay away from, since I don't know as much as other people on a lot of political topics. I'm basically just a really boring swing voter lol. I'll usually just stick with debating about veganism since I'm better at that

I love you lol.

I don't really partake in political debates much anymore, albeit I'm totally fine with political discussions, which may be the same thing anyway when taken at face-value, but at least no one's getting heated. I dunno, I'm weird in that I enjoy discussions and debates about it, but I don't participate in it much even in person. I just know one of my favorite Thanksgiving pastimes (well, with my family, it's not really limited to Thanksgiving) is sitting in on my mom's political debates with other family members since she gets pretty energized over it.

I don't do debates. When something is important to me, I kind of want to educate people and spread the word, not win. If I get someone to at least consider something from a perspective they haven't had before then I feel like I have done my job. I also have views that would be considered really extreme by most people,* so just getting concepts and ideas out there is probably the best I am going to do most of the time. I also tend to discuss important things in forums with a more educated userbase than on a pokemon forum. (not really a knock on this place, so much as there are other places on the internet where people really really know their stuff)

*like degrowth/post-growth, anti-work, anti-private property (different from personal property), a general bent towards individualism and away from morality, etc.

I can't say your sentiments are completely unjustified.. The qeue in the debate forum awhile back nearly killed it. My view is probably skewed considering that I don't have much interest in visiting other forums aside from this one. Part of it is nostalgia and habit, ofcourse. I've simply been here for a long time, but also because I haven't been so engrossed in a video game series (even if I am not now) like pokemon to the point I felt like joining a community around it.

You should play the video game The Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel. I don't know if there's a forum dedicated to it or w/e, but it is AMAZING.

Also, the cult hit Nine Hours, Nine Persons, Nine Doors is available now on Nintendo DS, and also part of the Zero Escape: The Nonary Games collection available on Playstation 4 and Playstation Vita, even if it's attached to a sequel that doesn't hold up. Just be aware that the third game in the series, Zero Time Dilemma, is almost as bad as Final Fantasy XIII.

I just recently got employed, which is nice. I was surprised to see that the employer actually gave me the eighty cents more on the hour that I asked for. I suppose that goes to show you that you'll never know unless you don't try? Perhaps dumb luck. Who can say? At any rate, I am very excited to blow all my income on dating as I have this past summer.

I literally have no idea how to answer questions like that on applications and whatnot. I think putting "THE MAXIMUM" is a no-no.

The absinthe thing is a problem because I got a small bottle of it for October. Apparently it's a lot more for me to handle than I thought. I like the taste, I just wish I could get it at a lower proof. It's the only alchol I will drink and only because of taste. Probably going to try and mix it with some Moxie at some point. (that's a soda for those who don't know)

So basically, if you're looking for a drink, it's either absinthe or "nah, I'm good"? That's a pretty big gap to cover.

I went to a concert last night, KMFDM and ogHr. Nearly everyone there was roughly early middle aged, It felt weird being there, I am not so young myself, but it was a, "man I have old people tastes in music" moment.

Still more modern than most of what I listen to, tbh

Went off to wanting to bang other video game characters, I guess. I'm told that some people think the flower from Cuphead is sexy and that confuses me deeply.

I guess my concern is that it's not like they'd just stop. Well, I say "concern" but they'll probably just stay on the internet and not do anything to me if I don't seek them out.

and that makes me mad

"Nerd culture" occupies a weird place. People are more than happy to get a reference, but don't you dare actually be interested in that **** if you've graduated high school/college. By then you're expected to have given up your soul and just become a nine-to-five robot-person.

Geek chic would be a good word for this were it not apparently already something else entirely.

And yeah, I still struggle with the concept of spending most of your life doing something that, in all likelihood, you don't want to be doing. It's also very important that you do everything on the exact same date/time as every other person for some reason. You can't even really enjoy days off (or I can't, anyway) because there are literally millions of people who also got that day off and every single one of them is a ****ing *******. And it's weird that people don't seriously question this. I feel like something went wrong somewhere.

Just gotta get him at a different angle.

He was just a one-off character, right? I wonder if there are any flattering crotch angles. New user title would be a marvelously witty pun on his "Pokepipe".

Have you dudes ever had a stranger tell you something, well, strange? Maybe not somethin absolutely loopy, but somethin that kinda made you felt good that you heard it?

One time some guy walking opposite me on the sidewalk said to me as he passed, "It's okay to smile!" If I see him again, I'm decking him.

Speaking of the debate forum, I'm not really sure what standard we're holding it up to? It's bad because some people that post there have shitty opinions? I don't get it. Everything you see there seems about what you'd expect.

I don't know about other people, but basically if you disagree with me, you're wrong. Ain't nobody got time for that.

Say what you will about him, but BigLutz was a perpetual motion device for making debate posts to argue with. Like that pipe in Super Mario Bros. 3 where the goombas just keep coming forever.

So NeoGAF imploded on itself in a less than a day

And it was the most beautiful sight to behold. This is the pinnacle of 2017 in my book.

I don't know what NeoGAF is, but I love a good implosion, regardless of reason!

No, im not kidding, this actually happened. >.<

Is it alright if I kind of sort of jump on this bandwagon and talk about the opposite? So a stranger coming up to you, saying some loopy shizz then either leaving of their own accord or being politely asked to leave?

Because I just had to open the door to our friendly neighbourhood Jehova's Witnesses. They asked about my opinion on god an Jesus or some pthing like that, I politely said "no thank you" and slammed the door in their face. Not only are they really annoying, but it was also weird that the two old guys at the door were asking me (who, I must confess, is a young teenager in her pyjamas) about religion. And that was just weird.

My one brother was stupid enough to be friendly to a couple of Jehova's Witnesses, so they stopped by a few times, but during each of those times, he was not home (such great timing amirite), so we had to be discreet and wait for them to leave. What I found creepy about it was that if no one came to the door, they would go sit in their car they had parked down the street and wait, staring at the house for five minutes or so before leaving. Like who does that? I've never heard of any other religious missionaries doing that.

I ran into a couple of JW that were using a kid to try and get religious conversations going.
