Lol I was walking around the neighbourhood with some friends and some guy ran past us naked and screaming at the top of his lungs
He got dumped by a girl when he took his pants off. Only logical explanation.
Cults would be, in my mind, a group of people who claim to be a religion that are generally disrespected by other religious communities and who's ideas or beliefs are considered unethical/radical.

Oh boy. Wonder if my friend knows of this, and if so, I wonder if it'll be brought up on our podcast Saturday. If I remember to, I should try to find some articles about it.

Was being documented since last night. Basically (well, just the PSN part)

•Users report not being able to go online
-Lizard Squad takes credit for DDOS attack, for teh lulz
•Playstation Blog and President and CEO of Sony Online Entertainment John Smedley acknowledge the problem
-LS makes fun of Smedley
•Hours later, LS is able to find Smedley's info, and find out he's about to board a plane
-Makes stupid decision of saying the plane has bombs planted
-Links to a 9/11 video on Youtube
-Obviously American Airlines decide to turn back to nearest airport
-FBI now OBVIOUSLY doing FBI stuff
•Another idiot hacker comes in saying he's the real deal
-Leaks LS's IP address and info publicly for taking credit of the DDOS attack
-tries to DDOS Xbox Live, but fails
•A third hacker group comes in arguing with the other two hackers
-HACKER WARZ!!!!

PSN is now back, but it seems the scheduled maintenance has moved up from tomorrow to today. No biggies, except for idiot teenagers who think they're invincible, and want to ruin people's free time for attention they obviously didn't get from their mother

Edit: oh, they also took down Brazzers and PBS and iBBC channel. Those cruel people!

Is this Anonymous again?

Link's not working.

But sheesh, even if it's just for shits and giggles, that's such a waste of time and resources. It sounds ridiculous to be true, honestly, but it wouldn't surprise me, either, if all of that really and truly did happen--especially the part with someone calling in saying a plane Smedley is boarding conveniently has bombs "planted" in it.

Nope. These guys are amateurs, hence DDOS instead of a compromising hack. The hackers from the 2011 outage, Lulsecz or something like that, got caught and jailed not too long after.

I fixed it. I thought removing the mobile wouldn't matter... It does. Added the "m." back in and it should work now.

It really is. People just want to play videogames on a boring Sunday, and these kids come in ruining PSN, LoL, Battlenet, etc. And they didn't call American Airlines. They posted it on Twitter. Last time this same exact thing happened on Twitter in April this year, an incredibly and amazingly dumb 14 year old Dutch girl got taken by the feds, all to gain attention and be as popular as Demi Lovato. You might be one of the biggest fudgetard in the entire universe if you think you can just start posting things on social media, and not think about the consequences of your actions.
no kidding

Nope, not yet. Next Wednesday actually begins the school year here in New York.

I think Colleges start at the end of August, beginning of September. This is the first time in a while that the school districts start. They usually start the second week of September.

My school started more than two weeks ago.
#ScrewGeorgia

You think that's bad? Schools here in Arizona started last week of July/first week of August.

Not that I care at this point. The college I went to had ten week-long terms, and you got a break in between that was either a week or two long (winter break was always two weeks long). I never took a semester off, so I pretty much went to four years of college without summer vacation. I actually would've graduated ten weeks sooner had I not flunked a class back during the Associate's period, lol.

Would anyone believe me if I said I saw the same naked guy from last night while driving home from the dentist? That man is on a mission

Also my classes start next tuesday and it's only an 8 week term, so i consider myself pretty fortunate

I have 16 week terms. I'm tired, I was running around helping get the Computer Science and Information Technologies Club started for the semester/academic year and then went to my University to transfer to sorting out things and clearing up some questions I had. I'm just exhausted in every way.

Big-time government stupid often makes it into the news or general circulation via social media, but let's all take a moment to remember that there is still plenty of small-time stupid making its way into the lawbooks. Here is one such curious case.

"In New York and elsewhere, it’s common for brake parts to be replaced with rebuilt parts. For example, it’s common for garages to install rebuilt brake calipers, brake pads and shoes, master cylinders and power brake boosters. Furthermore, when repairing or maintaining brakes on trucks, its also common to use rebuilt air compressors and brake valves. Therefore, the most important system on any vehicle, the braking system, is routinely repaired and maintained with re-built or refurbished parts. Many times, the parts to be rebuilt (the “cores”) are obtained from salvage yards (junkyards).

However, the New York State Legislature, in its infinite wisdom, has found it necessary to bar the installation of salvaged airbag systems (called inflatable restraint systems under New York law). Effective March 1, 1999, airbag systems in New York may only be replaced with new systems or salvaged systems which have been certified pursuant to standards set by a nationally recognized testing, engineering and research organization (See VTL § 398-d(6)(e) & 415-c (2)).

Here’s the problem with this law; leave it to the New York State Legislature to pass a law requiring salvaged airbag systems to meet standards set by a nationally recognized testing, engineering and research organization when no such standards or organization to develop such standards exist. And, leave it to the New York Court of Appeals to hold that the failure of the Department of Motor Vehicles to develop such standards did not invalidate the law. N.Y.A.A.D., Inc. v. State of New York, 1 N.Y.3d 245, 771 N.Y.S.2d 54 (N.Y. 2003)

Accordingly, in New York, no matter what reason the air bag system was removed from a vehicle, it may not be sold and installed in another vehicle. Therefore, even if the original car was junked due to a blown engine or rear-end collision, the perfectly working air bag system must be junked."

I have recurring dreams about driving cars and finding out that the brakes do not work. My fears have not been assuaged.

The school year started today for some schools in New York. And many states have already started school earlier this month.

I don't know when I start classes, though. Or where my classes are so I should probably get to that.

I do know that some places in New York have started up but not here. We don't start until the 3rd. I'm happy about that though because the earlier we start, the sooner the school years end and summer vacation begins.

I still don't know when I'm going to get my school schedule. I've been hassling my parents about going to enroll but they're being lazy.

School started on August 7th for me but I'm on a bereavement leave.

But in other news, I got a new phone and about 300 bucks of iTunes credit from people who thought I had an iPhone before now.
