I was wondering about 2 things that I am unsure of:

1. When a Pokemon such as Venomoth has his Dust Shield ability or whatever its called, then does his move effects work or is it both the defending and attacking Pokemon's moves that are stricken to pure damage?

2. Can the move Metronome change to a Special attack if say it becomes Psychic? If so does that mean that Pokemon needs high physical and special stats?

1. Shield dust works in added efects occured in venomoth by opponent attacks like it won´t get burned by flametrower, won´t get frost by ice beam, won´t get paralized by body slam, it won´t get confused by water pulse... ah, you understood... but it can get confused by confuse ray, burned by W-o-W, and paralized by T-wave. anything else is counted (STAB etc.)

2. Metronome uses any kind of attack, don´t matter if it´s special or psychical, so yes, metronome pokémn needs both. but it´s really unrecomended the use of one metronome pokémon.
