Generation 4 Pokemon Icons

Hey.

This thread is different than the contests and other displays of sprites because I will show the progress I am making on making desktop icons of the Generation 4 Pokemon. I'll take questions, comments and suggestions for the icons. Keep in mind that they must be 32 by 32 pixels as they're used in icons and eventually animated cursors. Here are the generation 4 pokemon I have made as icons so far. Some of you might remember me making icons for SPP a long time ago. But, anyway..here are my generation 4 pokemon so far:

For the most part, THEY ROCK!! Some parts need a little work, like Munchlax. Something just bothers me about it. Also Manene looks a little skinny so you may wanna fix that. Otherwise, nice job and I hope you'll do more as more pokemon come out!

My favorite is the one of the parrot (I'm sorry but I really have no idea what their names are. Sorry for my lack of description.) And just a little bit of constructive criticism, Munchlax's eyes look like they're coming out of his head... and his arms look like wings. But everything else is good.

i like them they are cool but i think that manta needs a better job but other than that they all rule

Try a variety of outline colors. it'd look better. Still leave some black if you want. They look good though.

They totally rck but on the Mantine pre evo (can't remeber the name) the right fin thingy majig is a bit too big. I know you were nly gonna do the 4th gen but you should try doing some more of the 1st 2nd and 3rd gen

You're realy talented...That parrot sprite is realy Great, and the same goes to the weasel, but you should make the gonbe eyes a bit smaller and trim mantine's pre-evo fins a bit

Actually, I have made icons from every generation. In fact, every pokemon was made an icon. Serebii used to use mine and others' icons for smilies. I had a sire but I removed it. I might put a new one up. I'm not totally sure just yet.

Here are some of my icons from each generation. I've been making pokemon icons since 2001 and these aren't really sprites. Here are some examples:

Those are just some of the many icons I've made with friends over the years and they used to be smilies here on SPP. Joe wanted to go with the animated gifs you see today. Remember though, these aren't sprites. They are icons and are totally differen from sprites. Meaning, they are used on the desktop to replace current icons or you can use them in animated cursors or animated gifs.

As for munchlax and manene, those were the some of the first 4th geners I made. I may redo them. When I made them, the last icon I made was salamence from generation 3 and that was a long time ago.

I made all the 3rd gen save for a few, Erin. I would have showed my better ones but I was just showing the startersfrom each generation. Here's another few gen three pokemon:

Don't forget, when making icons, you have to work in a 32 by 32 pixel square.

Edit: Mutten. I'd love to post all my icons here but Joe (Serebii) would have my butt for killing bandwith. I might make a basic display site for the icons one day. But, it's a pain in the butt to link what? 395 pokemon icons.

I like the Manyula and Tamanta one ^_^ All of them rock, but those were my favorites.

I'm in love with the Cyndaquil one. It just...Rocks.

Wow!

Those icons are cool, Chris. Especially the new fourth generation Pokemon, Salamence, Manectric, Mudkip and Chikorita. Yeah... All your icons are cool.

It really just depends on the pokemon. Voltorb and Electrode were wicked easy to make. All I needed to do was create a circle in my icon editor. I use Microangelo and actually Electrode was the first pokemon icon I made.

The more detailed the pokemon, the longer it takes to make. The parrot took me an hour because I tried like five different poses before settling on that one. I actually went back and looked at a couple bird pokemon icons I did before in my icon library and looked at fearow's wings, pidgeotto's etc.

Some icons take 15 mins. Some take longer. You also have to blend the base color to make the shading pallet. Veterens here at SPP'll know that it took me ages to finally finish all 386. But the time the 4th gen reared its head, Joe wanted to iuse the animated gifs you see today.

Sorry to bump my thread. But, I updated buzieru's look. I might change manene around too. Does anyone have any ideas? Maybe someone can make a better manene icon. Remember, they got to be 32 by 32 pixel and they need to fit in when I copy/paste into Microangelo.

But, anyway as you can see in the first power, I revamped Buizeru. No need to post it again. Tanmanta and perrapu are fine. I may edit manene but I'd like it if someone suggested a post. How do you guys like buzieru's new head transplant?

They used to be icons on SPP's smilies list a long time ago. I don't think Joe'll post them again. He likes the new animations. But, the offer still stands if people want smilies made by me.

Funny thing about that parrot. It was a pain to draw in 32 by 32. That icon was from scratch. Can't wait for more pokemon to show up so I can make icons and post them.

Oh and if anyone wants to see some pokemon icons I did before, let me know. Some friends of mine and I made icons of every pokemon. I did the most. Practically all of generation 3 was by me.

They look pretty nice. The last ones (ferrets) face looks a bit strange but I really like the bird and the red and black one. (Please excuse my ignorance with the names) Would love to see more.

Awww...I remember using those icons back before Serebii replaced them with the Official Icons. God I'm old then 0_0

Anywhays, I really like Perappu and Bonsly. Cuteness is good...the others are nicely done as well, though Manene's head looks kind of small for it's body. I know this is the style you use and I respect that, but still...
