Gengar's cursed love

Ash's Pika Pal

some have to let go
Is this a good moveset for my female Gengar? I didn't ev train her.

-name Gengar(Gorbey) item leftovers

-nature modest

-curse

-attract

-psychic

-nightshade

You see fighting types she can knock out with psychic. The reason I have attract on her is because if there is a really tough male I can use the attract and curse combo. While half of her hp are down leftovers recovers some of her hp. And then while the foe can barely attack she can finish them off with a nightshade or psychic.

I don't see why you teach her curse. Night Shade deals a Fixed Damage (like Seismic Toss, if you're at LV 100 it deals 100 HP damage). You may want to replace it with shadow Ball

With a Modest nature it's best to make it a special sweeper..

- Psychic
- Thunderbolt
- Ice Punch/Giga Drain
- Hypnosis/Fire Punch

Fire/Ice Punch are from the Battle Frontier move tutor in Emerald.

SwordofAeons

Degeneration X
Gengar-Lum,Leftovers
Timid
Thunder Bolt
Ice Punch
Sub/Hypnosis
Focus Punch/WoW

Use the other 2 options if you dont want to Sub Punch

Gengar doesn't need Attract, try these:
Gengar@Leftovers
Jolly Nature
Shadow Ball
Shadow Punch/Thunderbolt/Hypnosis
Destiny Bond
Dream Eater

This is what I use for Fun:

Gengar@I dunno
Modest
Destiny Bond
Psychic
Thunderbolt
Giga Drain/Ice Punch/Fire Punch/Shadow Ball/Sludge Bomb

Personally, I don't see why Sub-Punching is standard on Gengar. It's Special Attack is much better. IMO, The best Physical Attacks for it are STABed ones. But that's just me.

SP.Att: 130
Attack: 65

Plus Sub-Punching isn't to great for In-game Purposes.

subpunching is standard on 'gar in competitive circles because it's a really strong, SE attack on Blissey and Snorlax, which are both used on almost every team.

Substitute is sorta rare but mcicegar might make a comeback.

I'd say it's good. Psychic doesn't match with Gengar but it can learn it.
