Getting rare pokemon/items.

Well I was reading my July 'GAMEINFORMER' and was paying very much attention to the new Wii information when I came across this:

'As part of the Wii console, when you turn it off - it doesn't turn off completely . It will continue to consume a small amount of power and still be connected to the internet. What that means is that, if you've gotten to a particular part in a game, we could push content out to you,so you could get a new boss. Maybe you could get a new artifact; Maybe a new weapon. But that concept is core to encouraging both current gamers to play more, but is also a way of encouraging new gamers to buy the system.'

And all of this was said by Reggie Fils-Aime.

So with this feature do you think that we will be able to get new pokemon or rare items?

OCC: The system will retail for less that $250 USD

Er, yeah, this is old news.

I think they could send updates to the game, but not just send you rare items and pokemon... that'd just be pointless. "Hey Jerry, when I woke up today, I turned on my Wii and there was a rare pokemon in my party!"

Yeah, they'd send a new quest or something so you could catch the rare poke.

Almost definitely, if history is anything to go by.
Stadium - Gives out rare Pokemon. (Eevee, Kabuto, Aerodactyl, Bulbasaur, etc.)
Stadium 2 - Gives out Pokemon with moves they can't normally learn. (Earthquake Gligar, Baton Pass Farfetch'd.)
Colosseum - Gives out Pokemon that weren't in Ruby/Sapphire, and held items like Brightpowder and White Herb.
XD - Gives out Pokemon with egg moves and previously unlearnable moves, and held items for battle, and the Lucky Egg.

What others are saying is probably right, though: you'll still have to do something to get the Pokemon or items. It probably won't just be a straight upload like Jirachi from the Colosseum bonus disc.
