Glden Sun: Tainted War

Kitsune

This Place is Death.
Golden Sun: Tainted War

Mysterious forces are stirring and it is only a matter of time before their powers are unleashed upon the land. A Tainted War is about to begin.

The words rang through his head as Isaac read the letter to the normally peacful village of Vale. Children stopped their giggles and play, workers averted their gazes from the half-built village, and villagers of all kinds gathered in Town-Square. Iodem, the man who had funded the construction of the New Vale, was now turning on them, corrupted by power. Wsieman and the other four Adepts were told to meet with Isaac after the community meeting to discuss "What would become of them." Wiseman had scurried back to his home to gather whatever equipment he might need, knowing that something critical was about to occur. He grabbed his staff, his few potions, and a minuet amount of little trinkets and items. He soon arrived at Isaac's door, the day still young and the dew coating the trembling blades of grass. He called out "Isaac, I'm here. Open up" as he knocked on the metal framed wooden door. He was prepared for whatever was thrown at him.

Alexar secured the ropes and the Psyenergy-shield and walked off his boat. Kalay was a beautiful town, with their low brick-houses glowing white in the morning sun. Here and there it blinked as the sun hit the weapons and shields around in Kalay, city of merchants. Alexar had hid the scythe in a white piece of cloth and it was now hanging quite normally on his back again. As he walked onto the docks, to where the city had almost spread already under the recent years, two soldiers and a scribe appeared. Problems already? Alexar sighed.

Rane

Really?
A rooster announced the coming of the new day. This was the day he had been waiting for. He slowly got out of bed, yawning a couple of times. Using all kinds of different psyenergy, stemming from the source Move, he used his psyenergy to get dressed. He then headed down the stairs.

His mother was a kind woman, strucken by grief and sorrow. She was standing on the right side of the room, looking out the window. Ryan walked up to her and laid a hand on her shoulder.
"-Oh, Ryan, you're awake. I-I'll make some breakfast." But he stopped her.
"-No mother, let me do that." She then turned around again, proceeding to look out the window. Ryan looked at her for a moment and then walked over to the table. He knew what she was thinking; She didn't want him to leave. The thought of loosing her son was even more overwhelming than loosing her husband. But Ryan felt as if he needed to go on this trip, as if destiny summoned him. He then proceeded with cooking breakfast.

It was still morning when Ryan headed towards the door. He grabbed his trusty sword, that he had inherited from his father. It was a blade forged from the purest mythril and it was unbreakable. Fifthteen years it had been in his fathers possesion and now five in his own, yet the blade looked as if newly forged. He placed the sheath on his back, sheated the sword itself and laid his hand on the door knob. But before going out, he walked over to his mother, gave her a hug and a kiss on the forehead, with the words:
"-I will come home mother... I will come home."

"Name?" The harbour-master asked. "Alexar Slythin." Alexar replied. "Boatname?" "The Adventurer." "Registrated?" "Alhafra." He had registered it there, since few would trust a registration from Lemuria, even now. "Route?" "From Lemuria to Kalay." The harbour-master arched an eyebrow, but continued. "Any illegal goods?" "No, sir." "Weapons?" "No, sir?" "All right." The harbour-master finished, closing his book. "That'll be a hundred goldcoins for the harbourplace." Alexar's smile faded. That much? Sighing, he placed a bag in front of him. "Here." The harbour-master nodded. "Enjoy your visit to Kalay, mr. Slythin." Alexar nodded and exited the office. He now had to find out the direction for Vale...had to be close. He turned towards the city, hoping to find some information there.

Wiseman entered the small, wooden house as the door swung open, soon realizing that none of the other three Adepts had yet arrived. "Wismean, sit down. You're the first to get here", Isaac reassessed the fact which Wiseman already knew. "Sit down. We'll have to wait for them to arrive.", Isaac said with a smile as he levitated a cup of tea over from a small wooden table, not even looking away from Wiseman has he did and showing no sign of physical or mental abilities being used. Wow...He's strong... Wiseman thought to himself as he began to sip the tea. Hope they hurry, I'm getting impatient...

""Go north," they say. Hah!" Alexar grunted as he crossed the second bridge. ""You should see it any moment." Double hah!" Just as he looked up, he found himself looking straight at a village. "Already?" Suddenly, a merchant with a wagon approached Alexar, coming from the north. "'Scuse me!" Alexar shouted and waved. The merchant halted the horses and looked down at Alexar. "What?" he said. "I'm in a hurry here!" "Just want to know where Vale is." Alexar asked. The merchant went wide-eyed and roused the horses again, gallopping southwards. "Well, thank you." Alexar muttered, wondering what had scared the merchant that much.

Finally, Alexar met another man; a young man out with his horse. "Morning, friend." Alexar greeted him. The man smiled down under his wide strawhat to him and stopped. "Hello yourself. Can I help you?" Alexar nodded. Finally this was going somewhere. "Is that village there Vale?" Alexar asked, pointing at the village ahead. The man turned around. "Huh? No, that's Vault; the heart of Angara." Alexar sighed. Where had he taken the wrong way? Seeing Alexar's dissatisfaction, the young man continued "But Vale is just a bit further north and west. If you're in a hurry, you can ride with me." Alexar lit up. "That'd be perfect!" The man beamed. "Great! Hop on." First now Alexar noticed that he had a small carriage behind him, with some odd stuff. "I have some things to deliver in both Vale and Kalay, but I'll take Vale first for your sake." Alexar jumped on back. "Just relax," the man informed. "We'll be in Vale in some minutes.

Really?
OOC: Lemurian, you pop up GS1 and take a look at the map that Issac runs around in, and THEN you tell me if the route between Vale and Vault only takes a few minutes, even by horse.

And BTW. Take a close look at the Thread name: Glden Sun: Tainted War. Tss...

IC:
Ryan had left Vault, his home village for the last five years. He knew that his mother would worry for him every single day of his absence but he knew that he had to leave.

Looking towards the north-west, Ryan was to return to the village he had lived in for the major part of life as of yet. The village, who took his fathers life. He looked to the skies, saying:
"I'm doing this for you father..." and so he started walking towards the north west.

Ryan was strolling along the road, enjoying the silence of sheer nature. The gentle sound of the wind in the trees, different animals jumping around and playing, all the different colours, the neigh of a horse... Wait, a horse? He looked back and could see a horse slowly approaching. It looked as if a man was riding it, a man with a strawhat. Hoping that the man was friendly, he waited for it to catch up.
"-Good morning sir."
"-Hmm, traveling clothes, a weapon... It seems like quite a few of you is heading towards Vale." The man in the strawhat adressed another man, whom Ryan now saw was sitting in a carriage that the horse was dragging. It was a man with clear blue hair and eyes. He nodded towards Ryan. The man in the strawhat adressed Ryan now:
"-So m'boy, I guess you're heading towards Vale as well. Well, If you want, I can give you a ride, seeing as I'm heading there anyway." Astonished by the mans friendly nature, he replied:
"-uhh', Thank you, sir. If there is no problem..."
"-Nah, m'boy, I have plenty of room in me carriage. Well, hop up." Ryan jumped up the carriage and sat beside the other man. He observed the mysterious man, dressed in alot of blue and with a large scythe on his back.
"-You're a Lemurian, aren't you?" The man responded:
"-Yes I am."
"-My name is Ryan..." He held out his hand, waiting for the stranger to take it.

((OOC: I'll be waiting for the other Vale Adepts to reply, hence the reason I'm not posting, but why is everyone headed to Vale? Only one of you explained it in your sign-up, and only the Vale Adepts are meeting in there...I suppose you can, but you might want to integrate an explaination. ))

"Visiting my mother in Kalay won't be as boring as you think Juana," Juana's auntie reassurred her. It didn't exactly work. Juana thought that it would be as boring as ever. She wasn't exactly keen on talking about all the 'woman's work' with her grandmother.
"Oh don't look so sad," her auntie continued. "You'll like it there. It's a beautiful place, or else your grandmother wouldn't have moved there. Your mother lived there for a bit before she-"
Juana didn't hear the rest since she jumped out of the cart. She didn't want to hear what her auntie was going to say. Even if it was in a nice voice, it still sounded like she was disgusted with Juana's mother.
"I'm walking," Juana called to her auntie.
"Are you doing this to avoid the conversatioin?" her auntie asked suspiciously.
"That and the fact I'm bored and want to walk," Juana said as she ran up by the horse that was pulling the cart along. Juana cheekily grinned. It was downright rude to do that to her auntie but she also thought that it was funny.
And we'll be in Kalay soon, Juana thought to herself. I'll wander off in a crowd and say that I got lost in the crowd. That way I don't have to talk about boring things while sipping disgusting drinks.

(OOC: Uhm, game-wise it takes 10 seconds. So I'd say around a quarter to twenty minutes. Remember, I met this guy west of Vault, so it isn't a full route.)

Alexar accepted the outstrecthed hand. "Alexar." he replied. "Alexar Slythin. It seems you're heading for Vale as well." The boy, Ryan, nodded. "Any particular reason?" Ryan arched an eyebrow. "Could ask you the same question; Lemuria is far from here." Alexar smiled. "I...received a letter." Ryan flinched. "You too then, I wager." Ryan nodded.

OOC: Oh yes, I forgot to mention that part in the PM, to you Kitsune. But the other two reasons are the main triggering reasons. The letter was just a boost.

Dave learning the ways of an Archer learned to start being one with nature. He had been staying in his old training area just meditating. He never was happy when anyone would bother him. Yet now he is on a new mission. Though it isn't as hard as it seems, it can always turn otherwise bad. He went to his house and entered what looked like a room. There were many things on a floor, like arrows, paper, books, blankets, Etc. He rummaged through all the items to find on his wall all along, hanging a special bow. This was made of the wood found in the place where his master was. He put his hand on it and just slid it down feeling the bumps of the engravings. Dave picked it up as well as getting dressed before-hand. One would question whether he needed arrows for the bow. They would be right, but being with the psyenergy he was able to make his own out of Ice. Dave just grabbed it and ran out. This act of running, isn't normal. Dave never usualy rushes to anything, rather just taking his time. Dave knew that something was going on. He just had to find out. Dave just ran out of the town, not to sure of the direction he is going.

Empire? What empire? This...

Alcelia pondered about this news she had bounded upon in her travels and was now back in Lalivero discussing it within her deepest, darkest sanctums of her inner mind. This Iodem who sent the message... Alcelia thought of this Iodem to be quite a rash one making a message like that. But on the other hand... He sounded strong... And this idea of 'war'... It was also equally strange. Her parents were out on their business... which they explained to Alcelia was "important and private" and left her to contemplate her own problems and the dilemma which involved this oddly worded invite mentioning something about a war from a guy named Iodem.

Oh, that's right. I realized I had business in Kalay. That'll have to wait.

Alcelia just realized that she had someone to meet in Kalay. On so-called 'official' business there. She always had this business. Sometimes it involved job propositions. Some might call her a bit of a mercenary though it'd be stupid to call her that since she doesn't actually end up killing anything. Or fighting anything for that matter.

Well, I'll have to head off for Kalay.

OOC: Mr Transportation... lol.

The carriage was hard and uncomfortable, but it spared some of the weight of his legs nevertheless. The ride would only take a few more minutes but Ryan started getting impatient. He laid a hand on his pendant that he had hanging around his neck and whispered a name.
"Vesper..." A little Venus Djinni emerged from the pendant, happily jumping around the little carriage. Alexar sat beside, eyes wide open.
"-A djinn."
"-Yes, he came to me 5 years ago... During the..." Ryan somehow couldn't bear to say it. He felt as if a tear was forming in his right eye. Alexar looked down.

"-Well lads, Vale is just ahead now. What a beautiful village wouldn't you say?" Alexar smiled at the man, but Ryan didn't even look at him. Vale, beautiful... Perhaps, but the memories he had overlapped any beautifulness this village may have had.

The first thing that they saw in the village was a large purple stone.
"-A psyenergy stone... Hmm, these villagers must bestow quite a grand power, if constantly surrounded by such a large stone." Ryan looked at the Psyenergy stone. Suddenly, he was startled by a voice, saying his name:
"-Young Ryan Teran... You have returned."

(Never said Ryans last name in the Sign-Up... probably because I just made it up. Anyway, Teran = Terra = Earth (IIRC) and his father was a great Earth Adept. It all makes sense in the end.)

Dave headed in an unknown direction while running. He had been stopped after running into a farm by a family. "Now what are you doing here young one?" the father figure said. Young one, I hate it when people call me that. "well, I was just going in that direction" Dave pointed across the house. "I was in a hurry, and though I could run through the farm, sorry if I caused problem." "Well you didn't run over any plants, but just follow the path and you will get to the other side." The older man seemed to be giving and uncovincing smile. Dave just bowed and continued to run. He went through the farm across the path and finding out something he never noticed. The farm he used to live in was a small one, this was a huge farm unlike seem before. Big farm eh, oh well, not now, got to get moving.Dave thought to himslef as he left the farm. Around the next few minutes of Running he saw many people just walking across. Not wanting to bring any attention to himself, he started to walk in a subtle manner. He kept walking on the same road the others went, when while looking at his shoes, something caught his eye. He wanted to look up but then again, that could cause problems. It could either be a rival of his, the sun just bouncing to cause him blindness, or something else. Dave has always been a courious person, so he just slowly lifted his head. First he noticed a wheel, then a horse, then a carriage. At the final stretch he noticed 2 people talking about a town of Vale. 'As my master said, follow fate, it will tell you where to go.' Thats where I have to go, to Vale, maybe.Dave thought to himslef. He picked his head up from the hood, and asked the 2 people. "Hello, there folks" Dave said. "Can you tell the direction to Vale, I seem to have lost the way" Dave grabbed on the string of his bow which crossed his body, while the wood was on the back. He seemed very uneasy while doing this becuase of his personality, which is being a shy person.

Rane

Really?
A man approached Ryan. He seemed to be middle aged and his eyes surveyed every bit of Ryans body.
"-Yes... I can see the resemblence. You have grown young Ryan, grown quite alot since you moved... and that tragic accident, oh yes.
"-Who are you?" The man gave a small smile.
"-I am... or was... a good friend of your father. My name is Joshua." He turned around and started walking the opposite direction. "He was a great man you know... your father." Ryan stood still for a couple of seconds, and then ran over to the man.
"-Tell me, did you meet my father... that day?"
"-Oh yes I did... infact, I was with him during his last seconds of earthen life."

Ryan had followed Joshua to his house. It was a small house, barely big enough for one person. He seemed to live alone.
"-That day m'boy... I lost everything. I lost my house and with it, most of my fortune, I lost my precious traveling partner, my dog Bricks, I lost my beautiful garden that I had been working on for years... and I lost my.... my wife." He started studdering as he said it. He looked over to Ryan, with tears in his eyes:
"-But even though I lost my life partner, my consort, faith decided to take more from me... I also lost my brother that day Ryan. Your father."

"-So you're..."
"-I'm your uncle Ryan... and up to this point in my life, I've lived in grief."
"-Uncle..." This was just too much. To have these news thrown in his face like this...
"-I wouldn't be surprised if your mother told you that you didn't have any relatives left..." And surprisingly, he was right. "She never liked me. Infact, she never seemed to like anyone in the village of Vale... Oh, this is too much, do you want some tea?" But Ryan didn't answer, he jumped straight to a question he had been sitting on.
"-You said that you were with him during his last seconds of his life. What did you mean?" Joshua dropped his tea pot and had to use his hand as support on the table.
"-I better sit down..."

Joshua started telling Ryan all about that night:
"-The official term was Earthquake, but it was something else. It felt as if the ground had it's own will, because it was rising and falling completely at random. My house vanished into the ground, my wife in it. Our neighbour didn't even make it out of the house with his family before the whole house was swallowed by the earth. Your father, who knew that his own family would suffer the same destiny if nothing was done, ran out and saw me sitting outside what used to be my house.
[Flashback]
"-Joshua, you gotta help me! You gotta-"
"-What do I have to live for brother? My life has been ruined..." Ryans father laid his hands on his brothers shoulders.
"-No, my brother, your wife died saving your life. Please, in her memory, help me save the life of my wife... and Ryan." Joshua looked at his brother with tears in his eyes, and then got up.
"-Ok brother, tell me what we have to do!"
[End Flashback]
"-Your father positioned himself behind your house and he told me to stand infront of it. Simultaneously, we started rising the patch of ground your house was on, to save it from sinking down with all the others. We held the house there for what seemed to be several hours. When the earthquake had subsided, or atleast left our part of the village, I immediatly ran around the house... but your father was nowhere to be found. The only thing I found was the pendant you're carrying around your neck."

As Ryan walked off together with the man, Alexar decided he would have to move on. He walked through the streets of New Vale on random, asking people along the way for direction for the mayor of the town. The mayor seemed to be a man called Garet, but if Alexar had come because of A Letter (they always talked about it like it was supposed to be told with capitals), he was better off at someone called Isaac. So Alexar headed that way.

When he finally arrived at the house in question, he knocked three times. The door swung open by itself, Alexar could feel a faint trinkle of Psyenergy, and he entered. "I am Alexar Slythin," he announced. "I am a Lemurian and I come seeking answers about a letter."

Dave getting no answer decided to follow them. Knowing, that it was his destination, he just continued to walk. The carriage started to turn and head to the direction of a building that was unfamiliar to that of Dave. All he knew was the color of the sky at the moment, but no memory of this area. So this must be Vale.Dave thought to himself as he entered the town. There were many people, much like his homeland just walking around doing there work. Dave saw the 2 men split, though one went on a different direction than other. Dave never really knew who to follow Untill he remembered something about one of them. Wait, isn't one of them from Lemuria? I think i've seen him before when I have done my job. Lets see where he goes.Dave thought as he took the familar persons path. Dave ended up in a building at the same time hearing the name. Dave jumped to the wall, to try to hear from it with his ear to the side. So thats Alexar. I knew he was from Lemuria. Dave just put his ear off and sat. "Why would they be calling him here. What is it that he has that I don't?" Dave said in a low voice as he put his hand in front of him. Out came a blue colored mist. The mist harded up into the shape of an arrow. "No sense in doing things without being prepared." Dave said again, in the calm voice. Yet, who was that other guy?
