My first ever thread! Profesco gave me the go ahead, as the old one died.

So this is about the hit musical comedy drama Glee! What are your opinions on it? Like it? Dislike it? Do you like the song choices? Do you feel certain characters are ignored? Does the autotune annoy you? Do you just watch for the songs? Etc, etc.

I personally love it. I'm a fairly musical person all round and it's just good fun! Really just an enjoyable show, plain and simple They've included two of my favourite songs (Don't Stop Believing and Somebody to Love) and I think it has a good mix of genre. Although Don't Stop Believing is horribly overplayed nowadays IMO.

Discuss!

I only watch Glee for the songs. They are the only good thing in it, everything else is rather boring. Don't Stop Beleiving and Take A Bow are epic, though.

I think it's a very likable show. I didn't used to like it at first since it's it was too musical for my tastes but after seeing a few episodes, I was hooked. I like the plot, almost everything has to do with high school life and I can relate. I like some of their song choices since most of the songs are more modern than in most musical shows. I think it's a perfect blend of drama and modern music. Glad there's a second season to look forward to.

I think every episode gets better and better. I started just watching for the songs, but the comedy drew me in. Finn's a moron and just makes me laugh at times, Kurt is brilliantly stereotypically gay, and I'm fairly sure Sue has won TV forever. :D

We're only on episode 8 over here, but I've heard good things about the next episodes, and I dont want to spoil it all for myself straight away!

I've been tempted from time to time to watch it (I'm actually kind of into Musicals), but something stops me every time. Maybe because I feel like it's going to be a High School Musical-esque story, making it almost unbearable, or something else that I can't think of off the top of my head, but it just doesn't strike me as something to get into. I won't deny though that some of the actors on the show (the Cheerleading coach, Jayma Mays) have talent (saw the coach on an episode of The Mentalist, and Jayma Mays has had odd jobs over the years).

It's not like HSM at all. It has storylines that Disney would never condone for starters (teen pregnancy, divorce, coming out) and it has much more of a screwball comedy vibe

To answer the question, I love it. I particularly love the character of Kurt, and I love how he's getting a love interest next season. I also love that Artie gives people with disabilities some representation on TV

I think that Kurt is by-far my favorite character. I know he's the stereotypical "flamboyant gay" character with a great sense of fashion but it works on this show. I'm always hoping he'll end up with Finn but that probably won't happen. Kurt reminds me of me in a few ways so I guess I can't help but root for him. My second favorite character would have to be Mercedes just because she's a kind of a diva and she has an attitude, she reminds me a friend I had, and I find the fact that she liked Kurt to be cute.

My favorite was "its my life" from bon jovi. I like the show, but I don't like the schedule in which it airs lol.

EDIT:

>.>

HSM was built mainly for 5 year old girls and teenage girls.

Glee? Older Teens(as in 17-19) and other adults. And it is more "song based" than HSM which is more "after school special based".

That was awesome. I always love the Mash Up's.

Glee is by far my favorite TV show. My favorite is Kurt or Tracey. I love the attitude of both of them.

Did anyone see the new trailer? I think that was Finn and Racheal at the end kissing.

I've not seen too much of it, but from what i have seen Sue looks like the best character :)

I'll have to watch some more episodes, because i've been told it's worth watching.

The show is casting for an actual boyfriend for Kurt next season, so you're sh*t out of luck with him and Finn

I personally love the way they handled Kurt's storyline. Sure he's a queen, but he has actual feelings that prevent him from just being a caricature. They also did a great job with the overarching storyline about his manly-man father and how that causes issues in their relationship

Sad Bayleef is Sad.
im not a musical man...
but how it goes like a brazilian soap opera with massive humorous punchline...i still end up watching it...not one of my faves but still enjoyable...he Ryan Murphy(4 those that dont know one of the few gay acclaimed writters in fox network(follow the rainbow pun intended)) knows how to dig 4 gold when writting his works, if u know what i mean.

It's a good drama, but I don't like the musical scenes. But, I guess that's its signature; the musical scenes. That's what makes it different.
