Glowing Green Piglets

I didn't see anything about that.

The pair of cats cloned from a mother's altered skin cell are nearly a year old. The researchers told the AFP that their work could help unravel mysteries of some 250 genetic diseases suffered by both humans and cats. The findings also could be used to clone endangered tigers, leopards, and other animals, the report said.

What one of the paragraphs stated in first post of the cat thread. Meh, who really knows though.

But it would be cool if one day they made all the pokemon for real[/QUOTE]
thats kinda off topic since no pokemon glow -.-

and since they're transplanting glowing green organs doesn't that mean humans would glow too?? O.O

they're transplanting glowing green organs

Pay attention to the OP please. The quote said "a development that could lead to the future breeding of pigs for human transplant organs", it mentioned nothing which implied the organs would be green (lol).

Also having green organs doesn't mean you'll suddenly become the colour of the Incredible Hulk.

oh ok sorry

The laws of nature say that pigs don't glow, don't they?

EDIT: Beaten.

They probably could, eventually, make pigs with wings. All they have to do is figure out how to make the pigs lighter.

Well, try creating creatures that can breathe fire, possess humans, shoot icy beams from their mouth, etc.

Hmm, flying pigs will be hard to create.

I don't really care if its a bit cruel to animals if it end up saving human lives. A pig is a non-sapient, non-sentient animal that just happens to have a very similar metabolism to humans. A human needing an organ donation, by contrast, has emotions, is sapient and sentient, has loved ones to grieve for them, a conscious life full of memories to leave behind.

This is a lot more useful than a cat that glows at a certain wavelength.

And how will it save human lives?

By giving us a glowing heart so we can survive in dark caves? o_O

They just have too much money to spend.

Ahem, you have misread the point of it. The test confirmed that the glowing pig's offspring shared its parents' green shine. It will open the door to further use of growing organs for transplant within pigs.

Of course if any of you would have bothered to have read the significance of the glowing pig, perhaps you might have another idea.

Forget food dye, this is way cooler.

Perhaps, but other different genetic traits being passed on is still "50:50" if you understand what I mean.

These genes are different to those which would be needed for organs, and so we wont really know if other genes, which are more like those of organs, are passed down until we try it.

It does prove that genes in general can be passed, however, lol.
