Gold Save Glitch...of d00m.

...I need help. I'm not sure if this is the right place. I hope it is!

Okey, I got a gold offa Ebay, and it works fine. but one thing.

Okey, first off, it WILL save. It saves normaly and all, but when you turn it off....it's like the memorys been earased! The continue botton wont show up, so I keep haveing the start over.

I got it to appear at one point, by saveing, then saveing again and turning it off wall it was saveing...and then, after two times of re-checking to see if it works, it says "file is corrupt"

....*eye twicht* my family doesn't have a lot of money, so I'd rather not egt a new one. dad said if it was under 15 dollers, we could get it...but...

Any ideas on how to fix this stupid game!?

You could ask the nintendo customer support at 1-800-255-3700 or perhaps at www.nintendo.com.

The game's internal battery is dead. Therefore it cannot save anymore. (if you ask me anything more I'm not going to reply)

And Nintendo wont fix it (I've tried asking them they wont =/)

Well, to put it simply, you bought a used-up game. It's internal battery is dead, and it won't keep saved files anymore. Sorry, but if you can't refund it, there's almost nothing you can do anout it.

You just bought a cheap, second-hand Gold Game.

The previous owner most likely played it through to the point that the Internal Battery dried up. I suggest that you either buy a new one, or sell it for 5 cents at a Garage Sale.

Sending it to Nintendo isn't a good option, since they don't fix old games.

just keep on trying i used to have the same problem i threw it on the ground and used it and it worked ^^ don't try it might break it

never trust e-bay like someone said, and the internal batter like everyone else has said, died. Luckily mine hasn't died yet, though I think it's starting to.

Good idea. I bought an Emerald off there, ended up being a bootleg Engish piece of crap. -_-

ANYWAY, back on topic, the internal battery has run dry, or it's a bootleg. Or, the previous owner was messing with a glitch a lot (like I did and accidently ruined my Gold xD). Just try the guides or whatever on that link posted before.

No brand new Gold, Silver, or Crystal games exsist to my knowledge and research (and trust me, theres still 10 year old Japanese Reds that are new)

No. You don't sell it. You keep it. You have a piece of history.

Keep it so you can legally download the ROM...

If you can find anywhere to download a ROM off of... 'cause I can't.

So, yeah. What they said. The battery died. Give the person you bought it from negative feedback. That's the only thing you can do about it now.

BTW... is there any way to tell when your battery is starting to die? My brother's game randomly restarted itself, even though now it saves fine. But is that a symptom?
