Anyway I think this was really good episode. Seeing Ashy boy dominating the battle like this was nice to see for a change.

loved this EP. lots of really great stuff happening:

- Tierno's return + badge quest confirmed
- Dedenne jumping into Sliggoo's arms for a hug when they're reunited <3
- consistency with Dedenne + Pikachu's electric-communication-abilities
- the giant rock serving as a nice parallel to TR's cage in Goomy's capture episode (when it was too timid to do anything while Pikachu gave its all ramming against the bars, now Sliggoo was the first one to try its hardest, inspiring Wartortle + Raichu just like Pikachu had inspired it back then)
- the animation during Sliggoo's evolution (and I really like "Volt"/"Mega Volt", haven't grown tired of either)
- Goodra tanking + dishing out hits like a beeaassst

Overall I liked the episode. I think that the instrumental for Mega Volt sounded a little off and would have preferred regular Vvolt tbh. I think this episode definately showed that Goodra is very strong and this along with its memory at the swamp make it seem more and more that it will be released. Also, glad to know Tierno is a league rival now.

And that hug between Dedenne and Sligoo was the CUTEST thing in the world ugh, BFFS.

A Much Delayed Mal's Review -

Pros:

* Dat Gothitelle machine maid lmao
* TR Raichu reaction kek
* PTSD flashback to Sliggoo evolution
* Holy sh1t that dragon into the sky...
* Barney +1/-1
* Different reason for evolution than TR plot device
* "RAWR!"
* No Volt...though an instrumental Volt remix
* Barney, that DGAF tanking in the battle
* Battle was solid


Cons:

* Well maybe Tierno's next Pokemon will prove to be a stronger challenge if he's supposed to be a League rival
* Though it was different, it seemed a bit anticlimatic that Barney evolved just like that...so much for being the supposed weak dragon who couldn't protect its home territory. The thing is basically a prodigy.
* Once again, Ash helping Barney deal with his PTSD still really hasn't happened...it would be a huge loss of storyline potential if it doesn't occur


Thoughts:

* Why have a Palpitoad, Ludicolo, and Wartortle on the same team? Water Pokemon overload
* Wtf was that triange bike thingy? TR should build an army of those next time. They might actually successfully get a Pokemon
* Animation seemed a bit off


8/10 but the fate of Barney on Ash's team and this whole Vietnam backstory potential (and whether it'll end up being a satisfactory arc) remains to be seen.

Also lol at people going crazy over Goodra's bulk when he was just using Bide xD. Freaking Piplup could of taken those same moves with Bide, you guys gonna freak out about him too??

TRio doesn't even think the Raichu and the others were worth catching over Pikachu. They have the worst skewed priorities ever.

Good job, Bonnie. You actually used your Pokemon's innate skills to get closer to the others. Max feels useless in comparison. Oh, and Tierno? You have a Hitmontop. Use it to break that giant boulder!

They overdid it with that crazy-fast evolution. Why even have a dragon appear and rise out to the sky? I thought for a second Goodra had learned Dragon Rush somehow. It doesn't help the writers ignored completely that Sliggoo cannot evolve under its own Rain Dance. They could have EASILY made it cloudy during the whole episode until plot demanded evolution for that rather...lackluster fire that creepy butler robot caused upon exploding. (Of course it's a circle of fire. It couldn't be fire running wildly).

Then Tierno gets wrecked in 4 minutes. At least some of the animation was good.

This was a very good episode in my opinion, and these evolutions seems to continue happening out of nowhere :p. they finally made it to Lumiose City for Ash vs Clemont

Like with the majority of evolution episodes (not including last week), I saw Sliggoos evo coming when it was throwing itself against that rock.

I didn't like how Sliggoo evolved with Rain Dance but it practically evolved to save Ash and Serena so that's okay. Tierno didn't even stand a chance against Ash.

Clemont appearing at the beginning was pretty pointless though. 8

A fine episode. One good part was Tierno showing off his new Pokémon, of which we already seen before. Good to see them again. The battle between Tierno and Ash was good, too.

This was a decent episode. It was nice to see Sliggoo evolve and I look forward to seeing Goodra battle against Clemont.
