Good Pokemon with bad evolutions V2.

I saw that the old thread on this made by Ilex got locked, so I decided to restart it again. Are there any Pokemon which started out good, and on evolution were destroyed and ended up with horrific designs? I've got a few......
Snorunt: One of my favourite Pokemon. It has beady blue eyes, an adorable coat, and a sweet set of gritted teeth. It looked like some kind of inuit baby, and had a strange charm. It had potential for a great evolution, but when it evolves, it becomes Glalie; a huge, bad-tempered, lacking-in-charm demonic hockey-mask. It looses the cute eyes in favour of massive, evil, harsh-looking eyes. It's chattering grin got replaced with a hideous toothy frown. It suddenly lost almost all traces of it's former bodial anatomy, and became a floaty, disembodied face covered in ice, with ugly holes carved into it. And to marr what little Snorunt charm it had left, they stuck a pair of horns on it's ''body''. Thye also destroyed Snorunt's theme; Snorunt is described as a snow angel that brings good luck where ever it treads, and is a friendly, social species. Glalie then ruins it by becoming a demonic thing who freezes everything it touches. And to rub salt into the wound, it dosn't do much to imporve Snorunt's dire battling capabilities. It sounds like I hate Glalie. I don't, but I would have preferred a more suitable evolution for Snorunt.
Oddish: I love Vileplume and Bellosom, but I really *HATE* Gloom with an indescribable passion. Ilex explained why Gloom fails as an Oddish evo in the last version of this thread, and did a good job of it too, I might add.
Nincada: Nincada and Shedinja are awesome, with incredibly inventive typing, and a great concept. But Ninjask is just a bland, ugly flying/bug type, and it is also extreamly annoying D=
Duskull, Quilava, and Crocnaw for reasons I can't be bothered to explain right now.

Let me see, Exeggutor, Typhlosion, Flygon, Mr. Mime,(If it counts, there was manene) Delcatty, Cradily, Ledian, Slowking, Politoad, and Steelix.
Ok, so I don't like evolutions that much, but I have the right to talk.

Meh, I despise Snorunt and love Glalie. I don't like it when people talk about one Pokémon being ugly like that's some sort of a fact of life. And I like Ninjask too.

But meh again. I like Horsea and Seadra, but not Kingdra at all (it loses the spikes and instead gets what I find to be rather silly-looking frills, and the face makes me think of a drunk person) and Scizor looks in my opinion nowhere near as powerful as Scyther. I mean, come on. How much harm can it do with two small pincers compared to blades? At least they made it so that their stats are equal, although it still bothers me that Scizor would do more damage with Slash than Scyther. I also prefer Haunter to Gengar - it floats and the hands are disembodied and creepy-looking, while Gengar just has this wide grin and a round body. And I agree about Quilava; it looks better on all fours with a flame on the head than standing on two legs with fire around its neck.

Kingdra and Scizor are why I generally don't like new generations adding evolutions for existing Pokémon.

In some cases, like Smoochum and Quilava, I like the evo, but not as much as the pre-evo.

Gloom? Personally, it's my favourite in the line. I hated Vileplume's design.

I hate Venusaur and Blastoise. They are all...big and fat O_O. They don't look like they're energetic and ready to fight. Venusaur looks way too layed back unlike Bulbasaur.

Hm....Can't really think of any. I suppose Munchlax qualifies, because it evolves into Snorlax....Snorlax bores me a bit, but I adore Munchlax. Gotta love the way the 4th Gen. fixes up 1st Gen. failures

Oh, and let me say I disagree passionately with the hoardes of people who say/will say that Snorunt is better than Glalie. I love Snorunt and all, but there is no way that it can compare to the masterpiece that is Glalie.

BTW, if Gligar ever gets an evo, it's going to have to be pretty bloody magnificent for me to take a liking to it

Let's see.... exegcuter: exegcute is well cute but then ick!
Glalie: butt ugly: resembles a freaking hocky mask!
I almost cried when my wartortle evolved into a blastoise (not really but hehe adds to the emotion!). blastoise is big and lazy looking. same w/ venesaur. and i think ferlagator's ugly too.

Surskit and Masquieran.

I like masquieran and all, but surskit had a unique cool type and they should not have changed it. Same with nincada and ninjask/shedinja.

Surskit -> Masquerain: Finally when there's some good potential they have to kill it. Like we didn't have enough Bug/Flying pokes.

What?!?!?!?!?!?!? Okay, Cloyster is much cooler than Shellder, Sceptile is tied for my favorite pokemon, (even though it's not really a gecko anymore) and Blaziken is awesome!!!!


I can understand not liking Blaziken, but Sceptile and Cloyster are SO COOL!!!!!

I like all evolutions really. The only one that I wish could have been much better is Surskit into Masquarain (SP?) like someone already said.
It had a lot of potential as a water/bug simply to waste it away with mediocre stats/moves and an even worst type that came to it by evolution.

Well i think Seedot got bad evoloutions i mean look at the rest of the Seedot line i was terrified Seedot is such a cutie and then it gets extremely ugly ugh my stomach! You feel very sleepy;097; !

Now, Seedot makes sense, but I love Venusaur and Flaaffy! You must mean Flaaffy to Ampharos, which I actually don't mind.
Anyway, I'm not very fond of Marshtomp compared to Mudkip, but I'm not sure what they could have replaced it with. As for Surskit and Masquerain, I think it's okay, at least they didn't make it Water/Flying. I think they could have made Walrein happier looking, but maybe it's a sign of old age.

Dragonair into Dragonite.

I mean, Dratini was a graceful looking, snakelike beast, Dragonair was a cooler, calm looking but graceful looking snakelike beast, but Dragonite, it's just a fat body with tiny wings. Dragonair is much better imo.

Grovyle into Sceptile.

I love graceful looking pokemon, and Grovyle was just that, then they had to spoil it by making Grovyle evolve into Clunkosaurus, Sceptile. I mean, LOOK at that thing! Grovyles pokedex entry says that Grovyle can easily leap from tree to tree like it was flying. Sceptile certainly does not look like it could do that...

Oddish into Gloom.

Oddish looked happy and cute, then it has to evolve into the drooling, frowning, and butt-ugly Gloom. Vileplume looks ok though.

Gloom into Bellossom.
Bellossom looks nothing like Gloom, which is actually quite cute. I think Oddish should have a second evolution that evolves into that.

Ralts to Kirlia

A cool looking ralts evoves into..... a balerina dude with pigtails?

Drowzee to Hypno imo.

Drowzee looked pretty kickass with his potbelly and glazed-over look, but Hypno lost some of this whimsical finesse. I would like that color scheme to be portrayed on Hypno somehow, yet I still love them both. <3

Too bad they seem to shafted more and more each generation... :/
