Good water type

Help! I need a good water pokemon that has good sp.atk because my Gyarados sucks and gets no STAB

Starmie is a good water pokemon.It has high Special Attack and Speed.

Yes, Starmie is good. Also Lapras, Vaporeon, and Slowbro are good takers too.

Also, Gyarados does not suck! You're just not using him right. He's a physical sweeper, not a special one.

Starmie, Gyrados, Vaporeon, Miltotic, Slowbro, Lapras, Feraligatr, Swampert, and Blastoise are choice water types if you raise them correctly.

Hm, high Sp. Attack, eh? I say Starmie. Easy to catch, easy to train, and is an awesome Pokémon in general. Others include Vaporeon, Milotic, Lapras and Slowbro.

Starmie or Vaporeon is your best bet. They were made to attack less physically. I mean, Starmie is part Psychic, so yeah. You can also use TMs to make it more special, as Gyarados learns no special TMs. The water serpent was made to destroy.

Yeah, Starmie is definently my number one choice.

Kyogre is the best. If you do not want to use ubers, Starmie is the best water type in-game by far...BY FAR! Starmie is awesome, fantastic...
There are other good water types too:
Suicune
Ludicolo
Milotic
Swampert (im suggesting this one too)
Vaporeon
Cloyster
Kingdra
Lapras
Slowbro
And of course...Gyrados...

I'd say Milotic it's like the oposite to Gyarados.
Though if your not patient, then go for Starmie and be a star.

Gyarados can learn loads of special attacks blizzard thunder flamethrower etc it just has an awful special attack stat.

Other water Pokemon i've enjoyed using include Vaporeon and Seadra. Yes, SEADRA. She owned for me in R/B/Y and I like her ability.

Milotic is the strongest Pokemon in the E4 for a reason. that is my advice Gardy, Millo, luver.
