Got a new DS! Yay!

Yay! I got a blue Phat DS! I know some of you will spit at the fact that I bought that instead of a DS Lite but I have a couple reason.

-Main- : I don't have enough money to add the RM200 (Malaysian Dollars 3.5 x 1 USD) to get a DS Lite which is just brighter and smaller.

-Sub - : My hand is fairly large so the bigger the better. Weight doesn't affect me much.

Why is it so inferior? Its plays the same games as the DSlite rite? The tech level is at the same level. All that changed is aesthetics only.

Just like what I said, aesthetics. Some people are not so rich you know. As long it does the job, I'm happy with my new DS.

A DS Lite costs as much as a new regular DS.

And if you don't believe having worse battery life, a bulkier design, and worse lighting makes something inferior, I suggest you get your brain checked.

Are you blind or extremely forgetful? It cost me RM200 more to buy the DSlite.

Those inferiority is not worth the extra money. I can overlook those things.Offtopic, I heard the DS Lite collects finger prints easily. Is that true?

Seriously? I watched it on CNET's video review and it really does look like its fingerprint magnet.

Well, we have different opinions, so what can I say?

I dont know about fingerprints(never do i touch the bottom screen with my bare fingers. It's the stylus or no touchie at all), but it tends to collect everyother dust related thing.

Mind you, you probably didnt need any of the extra features. Eh, if you have an EB games or some game retailer that lets you trade in consoles, you can always trade in the old DS for the Liter when you have the money. Of course, you should keep your system for at least a year to make it reasonable.

Actually, the only thing the DS original has better than the DS Lite is sound. My sister's blue DS sounds higher than mine at the highest level(both on the highest level that is).

As long as it does what you need it to do, it doesnt really matter which DS you bought. If YOURE happy with it, that's all that matters. Really!

The fact of the matter is, the original DS is inferiour to a DS Lite. It is heavier, and the screen is duller. And it is also bigger.

but, thet does not mean that it is useless. I have a regualr DS, and I still love it. The DS lite is just better slightly, and does not make to much of a difference to when you are playing.

I have a normal DS and I see no point in getting a Lite. My main reasoning for this is that I don't care about the brighter screen, it weighing less and it being all shiny. It plays the games. It does that well, that's what matters. That's also my PC gaming philosophy. I don't care about how high my graphics are as long as the game is playable. I'll only raise the graphics levels if I know I can, or it looks plain terrible.
So yes, the DS is inferior to the DS Lite, but as long as it plays DS games fine, that's all I care about.

i agree with you i could of gotten the DS Lite when it first came out but why would i get it if my normal DS works great... all i like about the DS Lite is the new look... and trust me i want one...for christmas..

anyway congrats man on the new DS

I got a black ds lite 3 weeks ago. I have pokemon trozie and mario kart ds. The cover smudges with finger prints really easily. I clean it at least every 4 or 5 days. All my friends make fun of me because they have white ones.

i posted this question on the FAQ Thread, but i doubt it'll get answered over there..

I just got a DS lite ....i have a question about the wireless connectivity though... All i have is a DSlite and a GBA SP..I also have a link cable, but there's no way i could connect it to the DS... how would i trade between my leaf green and my sapphire??? doesn't DS lite have built in wireless? because everytime i try the Union room on my LG on my DS lite, it says the adapter isn't connected.. and anyways... does RSE work with wireless??? sorry if this is a stupid question..

This is why hard and soft cases exist. So you don't have to smudge the shell. ;\

Btw, I can vouch that the brighter screen is MUCH better. We're talking like GBA to GBA SP quality screen lighting.

GBA wireless only works with GBA wireless. DS has Wi-Fi connection. Completely different as the system uses it only for DS games, whether close to another DS or via internet. It will NOT work if you attempt connecting.

Besides, Sapphire doesn't even use wireless to begin with.
