Some people say they wouldn't eat a Pokemon. But how is eating chicken any different from eating Torchic? (beside the fact that one is an Earth animal and the other is Pokemon world Pokemon). Think of the poor chicken/Torchic that you're eating! He'll never see mummy/daddy/siblings again! ;_; And now he's digested by you. Sad, sad, but delicious nevertheless. I admit my weakness for meat. D:

Now, my friends argue the different is that Pokémon are much smarter than animals. SO WHAT IT'S STILL MEAT. And intelligence doesn't stop certain people/cultures from eating animals (i.e. some Chinese people eat dogs & cats; some Indian tribes in the Amazon jungle eat monkeys).

I'd love to be a vegetarian, but I like meat =(. So bring on the fried Farfetch'd, roasted Dunsparce and boiled Exeggcute. O:

Would you eat a Pokemon? (You eat animals without feeling self-conscious about it, so might as well eat fried Torchic). Sure, Torchic is smarter than a chicken, but it's nevertheless a creature. We're animals, and animals eat other animals (except for herbivores, and we're definitely not one of those, albeit it'd be goed if we were). It's not nice to eat a Pokemon/animal, but I gotta eat :/.

P.S. If this has been asked before, just close this thread and gimme a link to the previous thread.

shove it up ya bum!
Once again, there are normal animals in the pokemon world. There's fish and birds, eat them.

And eating something that's more intelligent is like eating a chimp. Would you eat a chimp? I didn't think so. And pokemon are obviously more intelligent and gifted than a chimp with their abilities and the like.

Yep, there is already a thread like this. Go here.

I would have also linked you to the "Meat in the Pokémon World" threads, but they got closed, so all discussion on animals and meat in the Pokémon World go to in the thread in the link above.

HADOUKEN!
There have also been maybe twenty discussions about this subject since I've been here... There are fish/birds/etc. It's been proven during the show/movie/something. Meh, I'd eat those for my meat rather a Torchic, better not get it over cooked :D

As was said, there's fish, birds, and small mammals. Red meat is imported from other places.

Trainers don't eat Pokemon. When they eat meat it's suposedly from animals (which are proven to exist in the Pokemon world). Pokemon are never eaten.

My God, not this thread again! >< Trainers obviously woudn't eat Pokemon. Meat would be a bit rare/expensive because it would all have to be imported (as Evanji Axu said) since only certain animals would be able to survive amongst Pokemon.)

Even if Pokemon were just like powerful animals, it would be like the equivalent of eating a dog or monkey or something. But if you think that they're sentient and every bit as intelligent as us, there is no way in the heck people would eat them. (But I have yet to see that theory show up outside of fanfiction.)

Crazy, but the Pokemon would be like Animals and all that. xD If we didn't have 'no' Animals, and just pokemon.

I would eat pokemon if it even resmebled any food that i eat in the real world, if a torchic was prepared right id eat it, id also eat pidgey, id also eat sparow, id also eat eggicute to get some eggs. I wouldnt care if its a pokemon, if it tasted good id eat it.

They never show animals in the pokemon world. And I really never seen them eat meat.

You're forgetting that in Destiny Deoxys, people got hot dogs and hamburgers to eat D:

Blog Dog and Claydol, please do not spam random smiles that don't pertain to the subject at hand. It's stupid. Even if it goes with the subject or is part of your signature, do not post the same smile twice nor three times.

Even if there are animals in the Pokemon world, I don't see how eating an animal is different from eating a Pokemon. And did you people miss my statement about some tribes eating monkeys and Chinese people eating dogs? Like I said: intelligence hasn't stopped people from eating animals. Pigs are rather intelligent creatures (believe it or not), and yet we eat them.

Pokemon might be able of abstract thinking and self-awareness as well as being able to understand human speech, but it sure doesn't stop people from eating Farfetch'd. And rememeber how Lapras is hunted? I don't think it's hunted just because. They probably eat it, or at least used to...

I remember seeing an epsiode when Ash caught a Krabby, and it was sent to Prof. Oak. Then when Ash called him, Oak was eating Tofu, and Ash asked him if it was from his krabby. Plus, all Bill would eat was tofu.

Just an off-topic statment: Dark Espeon, I live in Brazil, and once my teacher said to me that she went to Amazon and there had a restaurant where you could order live monkeys, then they put it on the table and cut its head in front of you and then give you spoons to eat its brain. I'm not kidding.

On-topic: FIRST- already has been proved that animals exists in the pokémon world more than once. SECOND- based on this, would be very expensive to eat pokémon.

Does nobody remember the Slowpoke Tails from G/S/C? I think that’s proof enough right there that in the game eating Pokémon (or at least parts of them...) is accepted as normal (unless said Pokémon are acquired illegally, as Team Rocket was doing)

Seriously, just because Pokémon aren’t your average animals, doesn’t mean they are suddenly inedible. Yes, some Pokémon are extremely intelligent, such as pretty much all Psychic types, but others aren’t nearly quite so, such as, well, Slowpoke. Since when has intelligence become the factor which determines rather it’s right to eat something or not anyways? All life, regardless of intelligence, can feel pain so that surely isn’t it. Do all you people who feel it isn’t right to eat intelligent creatures, namely Pokémon in this discussion, think so as you relate intelligence to humans?

Regardless, there’s one important thing you have to factor in here: this is a series primarily marketed at kids. Does Nintendo really want to be sued (as that is the way America works these days...) because some kid goes crying to their parents, screaming: “Mommy! Some guy in Pokémon just ate Pikachu!” Obviously you’ll never see a Pokémon being eaten in the anime whether they do in the Pokémon world or not...

I wouldn't eat Pokemon, because that'd be really stupid. How could I battle with something that's in my stomach.
