Grass or water

I am going to start a one type team of water or grass but first i want to know which will be harder and which one has the bigger variety of pokemon and could some one tell me some good pokemon for each type?

Water would be MUCH better:

The 3 water starters

Marill/Azumarill

Lanturn
Kingdra

Go with water.

Ex:Metagross, starmie, sceptile, blissey, shuckle, salamence, ubers if you want, aerodactyl, ludiculo,kingdra and many more.

Anyways, water I think would be alot easier to work with and has alot more variety. Maybe go with Starmie, Ludiculo (both grass and water ), Kingdra, Tentacruel, Swampert and Kyogre if you don't mind ubers, otherwise Milotic is awesome too.

If you want to make it difficult then go with Grass, but if you want selection go with Water.

Water definately has a more varied choice and I think it would be an easier team to do. There are still some good choices in grass types. I would go for water though cause there my favourite type.

I hate water when it is my weakness, but pick it. I think it is the most powerful type in the game.

(thats why i'm trying to make my team more able to withstand water.)

If you want variety, then go with water type. But just to let you know, the game wil be hard any way you go. If I may, here is a reconmended team (reconmended by me, anyway). (This will not include natures, movesets, IVs and EVs, stats, abilities, or held items):

Lanturn;171;
Water-Electric

Relicanth;369;
Water-Rock

I think you should go with water. Pure water types have 2 weaknesses while pure grass types have about 5. There's also a wider varity of water pokemon and many of them have two types. They can often learn attacks of other types like(depending on the pokemon) Ice, Electric, Psychic, Fighting, Ground, Fire, Poison, Dark, and any others that I missed.

Go with water. Some good choices would be:
Starmie, Moltic, Walrein, Lanturn, Kingdra(for whwn he gets a better movepool in D/P), Kyogre(if your using ubers), Lapras, Vaporeon, 3 starters, and Suicune.
I used to be a pretty darn good mono-water compettitive battler. So if you need help, just ask me.

If you want to go for grass try and get some with 2 types like grass/poison or grass/flying or even grass/water.
The problem with Grass is that there are not (in my opinion) many good Grass TMs that are obtainable easily, but the pokemon should be able to learn its own good moves (ie Sceptile with Leaf Blade, Venusaur with Frenzy Plant).

I agree. You need to have a team with multiple types not just one.
