Greater Legendaries on the big screen

This is a question I'm just asking because I'm curious as to what others think about it: the involvement of the 670-680 base stat legendaries in movies.

Obviously, Kyogre and Groudon had longer in their Aqua/Magma sagas, and there were no movies proper devoted to their being, but I just watched The Rise of Darkrai, for the very first time the other night, and had only just rewatched the end of the Galactic arc a tiny bit before that, and thought to myself: ytf is there no effort invested into Dialga's and Palkia's animé roles compared to the movies?

And of course, with the 5th gen upon us, theres sure to be at least one movie where Reshiram and Zekrom kick stars out of one another, in full glory, and I reckon that the end of the Plasma arc will reflect the end of the Galactic one: compared to the movies, the legendaries will fall about a bit and then fade away.

So, does having the Greater (680 base stat) Legendaries appear in lengthy movies, with, instead of shortened cameos and a bit of baring their teeth and roaring, getting fully written roles, diminish their 20-40 mins of fame during the saga?

Yeah, ok!
If Pokemon get big roles in movies, they don't need another big role in an episode.

There are exceptions of course, but that's it.

I agree with CyberCubed, if they have a movie about them, all they need in the Anime is one episode about them.

Yes, but remember that Kyogre VS Groudon is one of the most disappointing episodes of the show, and is often cited as the biggest failures of AG. Dialga and Palkia had much better treatment overall.

While it is true that Kyogre vs Groudon wasn't given a justifiable treatment as it should've been, the arc alone cannot be blamed for overall degradation of AG. In fact, I actually liked those episodes.

I also liked the episodes. Sure it was a bit of a rubbish ending to the Aqua/Magma arc but they were still enjoyable to watch. And plus if a Pokémon has a whole two hour movie dedicated to it, I don't really see the need to give it another 21 minute episode.

Im just taking it from the point of view that I dont really want them hanging around on the animé if they make hay in films.

Obvo I agree with you all, particularly Cyber saying they dont need more eps, but if there is so little effort invested by the writers, they seem almost unnecessary.

Maybe arc ends should be canon movies. That would be enjoyable I reckon.

To be honest, i would much Kyogre and Groudon to have been in a movie than the series episodes replacing the Jirachi movie, although this means magma and aqua had no reason to be in the show at all.
Then when Dialga and Palkia were on the show and movies, it seemed a bit pointless, but same with Galactic, they would have no reason to be on the show if Dialga and Palkia weren't in the anime.
