Hello, I'm ravenhaired, very long time lurker, finally deciding to join.
In an effort to break longstanding (possibly bad?) habits, may I introduce myself a bit?
I've been playing Pokemon consistently since I first discovered the game. A few years ago, however, I discovered the more competitive aspects of Pokemon. Since then, I've become well versed in mechanics, strategy and the theory of the metagame. I don't have very much practical experience, however, something I'm hoping to change. I enjoy ground type pokemon, if I had to pick a favorite type.
On a personal level, I'm a junior in high school. I play the clarinet somewhat seriously. I read a lot. I'm also in the process of learning how to speedsolve Rubik's cubes, and anyone else who does, I'd love to hear from you. I could say the same thing for anyone else who's also interested in the Myers-Briggs typology system... I enjoy learning about almost anything, and am quite easily engrossed in something new.
Aside from a little about myself and a couple things that intrigue me, I'm not sure what else to say. I've read the rules and the FAQ like a good newbie ought.
I generally try to be as polite as I can, and coupled with the bit of shyness I have, sometimes I don't get to know as many worthwhile people as I would like... so, nice to meet you all! If you want to win my undying affection, all it takes is to share a random detail about yourself and maybe suggest a book for me to read.
