The gs ball was only an excuse for ash to go to the orange islands.and jhoto, and I'm pretty sure we will never find out whats in it.

^Agreed. It kinda sucks that we won't know what the writers were going with that, though. But whether or not they did, we won't ever know, most likely.
Unless, it makes a miraculous return and Ash uses it to catch that Ho-oh that seems to follow him around or something. :rolleyes:
