I disagree. Personally, they've bored me with their predictability. :x

At this point, I almost find it amusing that you have this perception. The gym battles have been well done thus far. Each presented Ash will a different challenge, and he has overcome each one.

The gym battles, as well as the quality of battles overall, have been getting better since Kanto. Well, until Nimbasa, anyway.

However, Ash's toughest campaign will always be his first, considering how many badges he was awarded out of pity as opposed to actually winning them.

I wish the Kanto gyms could have gotten a bit more focus during that Kanto Journey Special that aired at the beginning of XY that featured Red. They were all so short. I'd love to see those gym leaders portrayed more as competent, serious opponents.
