I thought Bugsy was a girl, too.

That's because all of the Bug-type specialists so far have this odd "sexually ambiguous" thing going on. Aaron had it too, as I once thought that he was actually a she in Diamond haha. Bugsy on the other hand, has a team of all-female Pokemon, something he shares with Will for some reason, despite both being males. A hint perhaps?

That does seem to be a pattern, isn't it? Look at the new Arti guy, same thing.

@CS - Love the picture hahaha.

I have to agree with Jaroda Girl, getting their numbers and subsiquently calling them is so annoying, its not simple enough to figure out on your own except for randomly finding them outside the Gym.

I love HGSS, but I do not like the idea of having to track down and hunt the Gym Leaders just to get phone numbers, then try to call them at different times. That's my only complaint. Otherwise they're amazing, especially during the rematches.

But how else do you get to rematch them, thats the whole point, to have to find them before rebattling them.

Its worth he effort, since they are a great source of exp. Changing DS time FTW!

Well... I beat every gym leader and later I'll hunt them down for their numbers... But I want to explore Mt. Silver. Heh. Anyone else think that the Elite Four should have changed when you got the Kanto badges?

I'll admit I like the first Elite 4 better than than the second gen ones but I don't think they'd have to change in the same game. That's why we have FR/LG. But it wouldve been cool to somehow battle with Lorelei and Agatha.

I just got Blue's phone number and battled with him tonight! He actually suprised me when his Executor used Trick Room. XD

All I have left is Morty and Blaine, and then I have everyone's numbers. ^_^

You could always "time travel", which is basically changing the Nintendo DS's time to the Gym Leaders' rematch call windows. And yeah, the gym leaders' cool Hoenn and Sinnoh pokemon in the rematches are pretty awesome. :)

Agreed. Some of the things you have to do to get their numbers are ridiculous. Having to capture Zapdos and bring a Pikachu from the Viridian Forest for Lt. Surge's number? Isn't that a little much to ask for? >_>

But yes, it is worth it in the end. Not only for the exp., but who doesn't want to battle their favorite gym leader(s) over and over again? :3

It is worth it, and I'm so glad that HG and SS gave us the chance to rebattle Gym Leaders. I mean, apart from the experience gained via those rematch battles with the Gym Leaders, there's also that lovely battle music. In the original G/S/C, the Johto Gym battle theme could be heard again at the League, but the Kanto Gym battle music couldn't be heard again. Thankfully, HG/SS solved that problem.

Hmm... If you ask me, it might be a reference to the gender-related oddities of Bug-type pokemon (Vespiquen can only be female, Burmy evolves into different pokemon depending on its gender, etc.).
But it also could be a reference to real-world bugs - of course, it is hard to tell the gender of real-world bugs. Take black widow spiders for instance; you would think the female would be smaller than the male, but this is not the case.

So you think that Bugsy was given female Bug-type Pokemon, because it's a reference to the gender-related oddities of real-world bugs? I don't know if I'd go with that. While I can certainly see how Game Freak might have noticed that and implemented it in the games, I think it's quite a stretch. I mean, Will also has a team of all-female Pokemon, despite the fact that he specializes in Psychic-types. I think it could be a hint at their...preference of company, if you get what I mean.

Also a bit of a stretch, but MAYBE Misty hating bugs has something to do with it as well?

Yes! Thank God we could hear those themes again. You could always listen to them on YouTube, but nothing beats hearing them in-game. My, does the adrenaline start flowing.

No, I don't know what "preference of company" means, as I am still rather immature. ^_^ Please don't tell me what it means; I have a feeling that I don't want to know.

As for everything else... I think that either I misinterpreted your post, you misinterpreted my post, or, most likely, we both misinterpreted each other's posts. :p What I meant was, the bug-type specialists are all "sexually ambiguous" because real-world bugs are sexually ambiguous. But then again, I just realized that a lot of real-world animals are sexually ambiguous, so I guess I'm wrong. :p

And yes, I am old enough to know what "sexually ambiguous" means - It means, it's hard to tell the gender of a certain person or animal. ;)
